Pretoria hotels & places to stay

In order to avoid traffic I stayed at the hotel to attend the In Good Company 2018 conference It was so convenient for the atterbury theatre with many shops and restaurants within 200m for dinner and lunch. Breakfast in the hotel was good but over priced considering the competition just outside the door.

Awesome breakaway and didn’t even know I was still on Pretoria! Great setup and friendly staff... had a blocked basin and was attended to, great couple breakaway! Would love to go again! Thank you for a great time😊

The Capital Hotel is a new hotel in the Menlyn Maine area. It is conveniently located in the fastest growing business and entertainment area of the Pretoria and bigger Tshwane metropolitan area. The hotel provides everything needed for business, traveler and short term stays. The staff are extremely friendly, accommodating and helpful. Rooms are fair sized and provides in all needs. All normal hotel amenities as well as a few extras are available. Restaurants of top brands are located on site or in the same complex. It is also located a few steps from the new Time Square Sun International Casino complex. This is the perfect location and surroundings for business and pleasure purposes. HDforHotels@gmail.com

I first stayed at Villa Sterne in 1998 and 1999, so I was anxious to see if it was as great as I remembered. It was even better! Joy and her staff provide outstanding service, even setting up a Pretoria city tour on short notice. Villa Sterne is in an up-class residential neighborhood (an embassy is across the street) and is totally walled. It has a great view of downtown Pretoria. Wonderful cuisine, superb rooms (a great amount of money was put into the rooms and furnishings). My only regret is that I don’t expect to be visiting Pretoria in the future.

We stayed at the courtyard hotel for a single night on our way through Pretoria. We were very happy with the service, staff and the lovely old manor building, which houses the reception, lounge, and dining facilities. The rooms were large and well appointment, in a modern interpretation of the old world style of the establishment. The only hiccup was the double-booking of the shuttles in the morning, but this was resolved without much hassle.

The hotel is amazing and value for money. Enjoyed every moment of my stay without any complains. One thing I think the hotel should consider is having small refrigerators in the standard rooms. I am not sure if other rooms do have but it is something that even those who stay in standard rooms should have.

The place was cozy and lovely. Moses is simply the best and responds promptly on requests. . They should pay attention to details when cleaning the room. We found a dirty container in the microwave, and spider webs in the kitchen. They should hire more cleaning staff. Other than that, the place was really lovely and secured, I will definitely recommend this place and I will come back to visit again 🤗

There was a water crisis around pretoria which affected our stay badly. Using a bathroom or toilet was always a struggle..the reception staff did not make life easier either. But their hotel is in a convenient spot, it is clean and most of all affordable..

Great value for money and safe location in Pretoria. However, need more effort in ensuring that safety deposit box and telephone are working. I need to move to another room as the two things inside my room were not working.

Unfortunately due to there being groups booked in for events, things can get out of hand. On Sunday morning I was woken up around 5am by people talking and shouting at the top of their voices as they were getting ready for their functions. People were running around the corridors and sleep became impossible. The hotel was transformed from a haven of peace and tranquillity to a chaotic noisy place. I believe the place is classy enough to instill a code of conduct that ensures the privacy and best interest of the rest of the clients is respected and protected. Throughout all the noise and chaos, hotel staff did not even venture out to ask the perpetrators of the noise to consider the rest of the guests who were trying to continue sleeping. That spoilt what had otherwise been a perfect stay

Great location in the Eastern suburbs of Pretoria, close to N1 highway and Menlyn Mall. Clean, no frills accommodation, reception friendly and helpful, room functional but slightly tight on space, adequate. Better breakfast than many more expensive establishments. Restaurant next door for other meals later in the day. Good deal all round, recommended.

Most travellers will find very little to complain about - and rightly so - when checking in to this guest house. However, I was slightly irked by two things: the lack of parking on the premises for my vehicle, despite the fact that I was given every assurance that it was secure outside the property, and, secondly, the road noise from the highway that is nearby. The latter is a function of the particular room one is assigned, and may not be applicable in all cases. I hasten to add that the noise is not too intrusive but I am particularly sensitive to sounds. It must be said, though, that this is an establishment that I will continue visiting as it is simply enjoyable.

As I had to work as well in JNB as in Pretoria this nice Hotel was perfectly located. nice big rooms, well protected area. very clean and spacious rooms and a helpfull staff. Rooms were very clean. good breakfast. the place is little bit loud as there are highways nearby. Check out time should be revised - 10am is too early for a weekend. will for sure come back!

This hotel looked LOVELY & we expected a great time. BUT WERE WERE MASSIVELY DISSAPOINTED ! The quality was not as good as the photos. The staff were lazy & disinterested & incompetent. (especially Reception). The rooms were LOVELY but super noisy with loud staff & guests. Staff & guests control what your experience will be like. Bad staff & unsophisticated guests = bad stay. So you could have a great or a bad time at the same hotel. What a pity this hotel was not like in the pictures because it could have been stunning & so close to JHB & PRETORIA.

Faircity Grosvernor Garden is well located in the heart of pretoria in Hartfield. it's close proximity to gautrain and most high commissions and embassies is a plus also there are a myriad of restaurants and eateries within short reach of the hotel. The rooms are spacious and very clean. Its perfect for both short and long time stay. Should you choose to do your cooking a standard kitchen is within the apartment with all the necessary facilities available. I will definitely stay there again and again.

It was certainly an uncomfortable stay. Firstly the toilets were not cleaned when we booked in. We had to ask for it to be cleaned as feases were still in the toilet pan. Secondly we had to use the same towels for the three days, two nights that we were there. Thirdly, there were no air conditioning nor a fan. We had to contend with the Pretoria heat as we stayed there when the temperature in Pretoria was seething at 35 degree Celsius. The kettle cord was very short and we had to place the kettle on the floor in order to reach the plugs to boil the water. The room which we stayed in was part of a cottage and was very noisy. I could not be given a receipt on booking out because The person issuing the receipt was not available. I was promised a recipe via email. Still,waitin for one. On the positive side, the staff was very friendly, the breakfast was very good, the location for our purpose, being close to the University of Pretoria was excellent and there was sufficient parking. I would not book in this place again.

My daughter and I slept over for her dancing competition that was just around the corner. What a beautiful hotel, very friendly staff and amazing facilities. The room service food was amazing and the breakfast too. Would definitely stay there again!

Comfortable, quiet room. Hosts are very friendly and they serve a lovely breakfast. The location was perfect for my needs. I feel the stay was good value form money and would probably go back again.

Perfect location close to UP and Menlyn. Spacious apartment, modern furniture, very clean with friendly helpful staff. Will definitely return.

We were very happy with our stay at Capital House. The rooms are furnished well, bed and pillows are great quality - crisp, white and clean linens. My only suggestion would be to ensure that there are adaptors for cellphones/appliances provided in the rooms, as well as hairdryers - which always adds a touch of convenience. Breakfast was nice - but the star was the freshly baked bread we were served alongside it. Everyone was helpful and friendly - and I would certainly recommend them to my peers. What a beautiful residence to spend a night ( or even more than one). The host Pete was welcoming and very accommodating. The rooms are great and the bed was super comfortable. Breakfast was delightful in a beautiful setting. omelette is the best Highly recommend this guesthouse especially if you like a bit of bygone charm.

When we arrived at the guesthouse the reception was closed - apparently Agoda did not inform them that we had booked.. We reached the manager on the phone adn she was very helpful and quickly sorted us out with a room!

The Wardrobe Guest House was perfect for our needs in all respects. The location was perfect for the University Registration at University of Pretoria, it was close to amenities with easy access onto main roads and shopping centers. The owner was warm, friendly and helpful as were her excellent staff. We will definitely stay there again.

We went for a baby shower in Centurion and searched for overnight accommodation close to our friends. We come from the countryside and therefore searched for a quiet place that is not so close to the hustle and bustle of city life. We were amazed at Pheasant Hill's location and the beautiful surroundings. Pheasant Hill and it's friendly staff, especially Thabo who welcomed us, are highly recommended and should we ever go to Pretoria or any surrounding location, Pheasant Hill will once again be our first choice.

The setting is beautiful, the staff is very friendly. The room (44) is small, non matching light bulbs, very dim lighting, no desk top lamp, no make up light, no warm blankets, cold floor. My first impression of the room was that smokers had stayed in this room, it didn’t smell fresh. Breakfast.. not sure if that was filter coffee.. ? Beautiful fruit at breakfast buffet, rest was very basic for a continental breakfast. Breakfast room is beautiful and inviting, covered buffet platters are just more hygienic and appetizing. The best about the hotel is the location, except our room backed a noisy traffic circle .
