My business partner and I just stayed at the Peermont Metcourt at Umfolozi - Empangeni. It was a nicely appointed hotel with a very modern style. There was plenty of secure parking and the rooms were appropriately furnished. The hotel still has a "new" feeling. Our booking was for a room with two single beds, but the system put us in a room with one double-bed. The staff went above and beyond to make it right and placed us in a suite. I was impressed. The only downside of my time was at the restaurant. I placed our bill on our room number and about an hour later (9:45 p.m.) I was called and asked to pay cash or pay my bill with a card. I think the restaurant staff was concerned I would leave without paying, but they might have mentioned that BEFORE I had climbed into bed!

It's a good place and very clean but there is no warmness and lack of facilities like pay point.

The taps in bathroom didn’t work, the toilet was stained and the sanitary bin was broken. The bathroom door didn’t close and was broken look like it could fall on the bed.

But i was not happy the first daywe find the room with 3 single beds and i requested one double bed when i made the booking and those beds two of them were old and when i wake up i was filling so tired because of that. And they said thereis free WiFi and that was not true.

I was made to pay 250 rand extra, which is over and above the amount i was charged on agoda. I only paid coz i had no option and i was already there... but please DONT TELL US OF CHEAP PRICES IF THEY ARE NOT CHEAP .... Also self catering shouldis also involve cleaning of the kitchen which is not done here

Not knowing what to expect, we choose Richards Bay because it cut off 2 hours of our journey north to our Safari. Travel books had discouraged stopping there as it is an industrial port. The Imvubu Lodge was a total surprise and we loved our time there. It was September and it was mating season for the Weaver Birds who build these intricate nests and you can watch them while you eat. And we would be remiss if we failed to mention "Frank" the crocodile. You can go into Richards Bay to a very large shopping center via taxi very easily. We loved our King Suite that came complete with kitchen and a decanter of sherry that was refilled each day. There was a great view of the Indian Ocean and you could see ships for miles. While much of Richards Bay is very developed the Lodge is in the jungle complete with monkey's, flowers and a variety of birds.

Friendly staff. Very accommodating. Well organized. The only downside being the bed which appears to be very tired. Nevertheless I could quite easily stay there again

During arrival the welcoming was not good at all, and the door keys were lock me in the room and the is not contact to the reception eg no telephone to call receptionist no any form of accessed you can use to call receptionist or any one to help except shouting and still no one respond. In short I stack to that room for 40mins we thought a help. It was a very bad to be at this place.

Gecko Inn Guest house is a perfect place to stay when visiting Richards bay. It was worth every cent we spent in this lovely place. The staff is very friendly.

My booking was not reversed even though an email was sent to them. On arrival it was fully booked and had to find new accommodation.
