The rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff was friendly and breakfast was not bad. We enjoyed the story about Dexter the Goldfish. This best western is definitely not winning the curb appeal contest, there are homeless people lining the streets surrounding and the outside of the property is a little run down. The hotel is one the better ones in Sacramento for our family’s budget. The staff was very helpful without hesitation. Tipping the room service goes a long way. We like going to concerts and decided to stay in Sacramento for the night. The Hyatt is within walking distance of venues and restaurants. After reading menues, we ate ate Dawson's at the hotel. Had to be one of the best meals I've eaten! Can't stress enough how helpful and friendly the staff was. Only negative was the noise as there was a convention there so people were talking loud in the hallway even though there was a sign by the elevator about quiet hours. That's no fault of the hotel, though. Already booking for our next concert!

Con (mild) [1] lighting could have been brighter; [2] i hate it when the bathroom light is automatically coupled with a (noisy) fan Pro [a] nice to have a grab-bar in the tub-shower; [b] appreciated having a room near the elevator since i prefer the 2nd floor, but have some trouble walking

We stayed here over the 4th of July weekend. The location was great to get to Old Sacramento and other downtown attractions although there's not much in the immediate area. The layout of the hotel felt a little peculiar (you had to walk down a rather long hallway past what appeared to be either suites or meeting rooms to get to the elevators), but the room was sufficie...

Pet friendly - fair pet deposit. Only thing last time house keeping did not vaccume carpet & was told I had to request it. Laundry facilities are excellent, except for other guests not removing their items. I don't mean for a short time, I mean I was doing laundry and someone was taking up 2 dryers all night & saw the next day someone had finally took it. I didn't pull...

Laundry facilities are excellent, except for other guests not removing their items. I don't mean for a short time, I mean I was doing laundry and someone was taking up 2 dryers all night & saw the next day someone had finally took it. I didn't pull their stuff out because I didnt need them. Only other thing is that it gets SO HOT in the laundry room- I got a chocolate bar from a vending machine & it was melted. Its a quiet location. All business's around it close by 10-11pm. If you have a dog, mine got ill after swimming in the American River. That has nothing to do with the hotel it's just a note for dog owners. Go north out the Sacramento city lines. Approx. 10 mins on Hwy 50North the water is better but current is STRONG so find a safe place.

We found our 2 double beds room for a decent price online. The staff was super friendly and helpful, answering questions before our stay and when we arrived. The guy at the front desk checked us in at 1:30am, advised us where to park and how to enter our room, then actually held the door for us while we made a couple trips to unload the car. The online photos made the room appear much larger than it actually was. One of the beds was totally broken. The center sank WAY below the top edges of the mattress so I slept inside a big crater. It was VERY uncomfortable but so late at night, with an infant, that we decided not to ask for a different room. The room was clean and well-stocked. Breakfast was a little surprising. We found a dining room with a fridge to keep yogurts and milk, and there were cereals, muffins, pastries on display, waffles, toast, oranges, a juice machine, and a coffee station. The exterior of the hotel felt VERY unsafe with mounds of trash and homeless people.

This place during the week is quiet. There are so many amenities such as pool, jacuzzi, the gym I loved it! yes it's in West Sacramento but they have security and its not on the main drag. I also want to mention how they have a full breakfast not continental. I love making waffles!!!

I chose for the ratings and they were accurate. Nice and quiet. But if you don't have a car, there's no where to easily walk. Morning breakfast complete - lots of Jimmy Dean choices - just nuke away! My Uber driver was surprised I was staying there when she saw me - said it's a bit of a sketchy area - known for prostitutes across the highway at the Motel 6.....uh.....

My Uber driver was surprised I was staying there when she saw me - said it's a bit of a sketchy area - known for prostitutes across the highway at the Motel 6.....uh....., ok. (I didn't feel unsafe or in any way that the area was sketchy - but that's what my Uber driver said - and knew the area well.) The staff was excellent - helpful, professional and friendly. All that said, it was convenient for my meeting the next day and I'd stay again.
Someone got inside our room early in the morning through the window causing my wife to wake up and shout, & afterwards I tried to chase this guy. Then I went to front desk to ask if there’s a camera in the facility, then he check it; what surprised me was that the monitors were under the table. Then I went to front desk to ask if there’s a camera in the facility, then he check it; what surprised me was that the monitors were under the table. I mentioned that if the monitors were on the wall they might have seen the one who broke into our room before he actually did. I felt as if the staff did not understand the severity of what just happened, & did not care or were concerned about our safety; they didn’t even offer any sort of compensation for what could have been a life or death situation.

We had reserved an non smoking room with one queen bed. It was downstairs on the main level. The room was small. This is Sacramento's most stylish hotel. It is brilliantly located right in the Downtown square next to the Arena where the Basketball team play and the big concerts are held. It is also right next to the redeveloped old Sacramento which is an absolute delight with its reconstructed wild west high streets and resident paddle steamer restaurant and the old railway which is now running tourist trips again. This is an absolutely wonderful hotel with very friendly and professional staff, I found Melanie on reception particularly helpful and charming. However this hotel does not actually advertise its existence very well for the motorist, so even with GPS it is very hard to find (despite being massive). Even right outside I had to ask passers by where it was, no name board to be seen. The other issue is again the cost to park, you have a choice of valet parking as$32 or self park at $27 per day. There was an exceptional bakery patisserie in the square for breakfast which is unbeatable!

This place should be closed. From the woman checking me in (who insisted on charging my room to my American Express even though I paid for the room an hour earlier online) to no ice machine to NO parking to broken switches in the bathroom to only a few channels on the TV(no HBO, no NOTHING)

very good location nice staff and very tidy and clean rooms and surroundings good breakfast room reasnable choice self serevice rooms were of good size and standard and comfortable and fasilities could have provided drinking water nice tea and coffe maker in room and decor was ok to so all in all good

Overal I loved the room siZe, beds were VERY comfortable!!! The bathroom was clean except all light switches and doors were pretty dirty and some walls had traces of food and who knows what on them. Just a lil more eye for detail in the room like walls doors and light switches.

Clean comfortable, no frills stay for an overnight business trip. This property has a 24 hour guard in the parking lot. Basic accommodations that seem to have been updated in the last few years. Lots of light through the windows, some noise can be heard through the outside walls when people are walking by the window. Staff was courteous. They do have an unusual, no vi...

Look, guys, this is exactly a "you get what you're paying for" thing. Like I had a fine experience, the beds were decently clean and the room was fine, but I also wasn't exactly expecting a continental breakfast and valet parking. The Echo Lodge is exactly the place it's advertising to be. It's cheap, the staff was pretty nice, and like I didn't get murdered so all in all I'd say it was a pretty rad experience. I would totally stay again if I had to ...but maybe only in a group. The area isn't too great to be honest. All in all I'd give it a 3.5 out of 5. So do with that what you will.

When I arrived, I was very thirsty and entered a vending area with a soft drink machine. There was no price posted, but I went ahead and put a dollar in the machine. It still said "Enter funds" so I put in another dollar. Then it said "Enter funds" again. Since it didn't seem that a soda from a machine would cost more than $2, I hit the "Return" button and it spit back $1.50 in quarters. So then I asked the attendant in the office how much the sodas cost. He said to put in 3 quarters. So I went bank and did that and that didn't work either, so again I hit the "Return" button. This time it gave back 2 of the 3 quarters I put in. I went back to the office to inform the attendant that the machine had kept 75 cents. I asked if he would reimburse me, or go to the machine and operate it and I would then pay him, since I was leery of trying again. His response was that the machine was not something the hotel supported and that I should call an 800 number. No tvery customer-friendly!

Our stay her was great! The staff was friendly and helpful at telling us nearby places and attractions. The State Capital is about 15mins away from the hotel, but if you want to visit you need to check the hours ahead of time. For the price you cant ask for a better hotel to stay at. I'd stay there again.

We had a 3-day stay for a Truck Inspection @ Enoven Body. Rooms were clean, parking good and plenty of places to eat close by. Great Italian place across the street. Circle K right next door for water and snacks. Walmart & Shopping Mall about half a mile away.

Traveler impressions of Sacramento (CA)
The old town is interesting. Also several very good museums and parks. The sports facilities are also quite good.
Really need a bike to enjoy the city and a car to go further afield. The public transport seems OK - just didn't have time to figure it out.
Great capitol building! There are numerous interesting and historical places to visit in Sacramento, capital of the state of California! Lots of quiet neighborhoods and places for shopping.
