"We had two fantastic nights at this hotel right in the square in San Giminano. It is a beautiful building with huge double windows with shutters so even though you are right in the square it is very quiet. The room was spacious with a very comfortable antique bed and it was furnished with other gorgeous antiques such as a huge wardrobe and side tables. The view into the square was perfect looking down at the village well. "

"There are both the farm outside town and apartments in the town center. We got an apartment in the town center. It was freezing cold (stayed in middle of October) with no heating, but would probably have been good in the summer. The check-in experience though was terrible: We made the booking at 16:42 (same day) with “Pay at Hotel”, then at 18:12 the full amount + 1 EUR gets withdrawn from my card. We arrive around 19:35 to a farm with no staff. After some time, we find a guy that calls one of the owners, who then informs us, that check-in closed at 18:30 (that is why they charged us the full price, as a “no show”). After some discussion, the owner agrees to meet with us “between parking lot 3 and 4”: Having never been there before, we were not sure what that meant, but managed to find him. He checks us into the condo and then tells us that we have to pay 30 EUR for this late check-in service. We of course refuse, as we never agreed to such a thing, and tell the owner we can just cancel, but he continues arguing. I show him the Agoda app and how a reservation does not agree to his late check-in fee, to which he responds that he knows nothing about Agoda (even though he is listed on Agoda). I ask the owner if we can postpone this until check-out, because we have been driving for more than an hour, and just want to get something to eat, and not argue with him over 30 EUR, he is reluctant to leave and starts to talk about lack of respect (in Italien). Eventually we get him out of there, oh, and he want us to check out at 10 a.m. and then go to his office. I tell him that his office is outside the town, so we will go there in the afternoon, when we leave the town. The next day we go to his office, and I’ll refrain from going into details, but it takes at least half an hour to resolve things, with him holding onto my physical credit card, raising his voice. Eventually we get an Agoda customer service agent on the phone to mediate. This guy should not run a ho"
