San Gimignano hotels & places to stay

Ideally located to visit the beautiful town of SAN Gimignano, it has the advantage of a beautiful pool within the gardens which was perfect for relaxing during the heat of the day. The hotel serves a basic continental breakfast and lunch which while not extensive was perfectly adequate. All the staff were very helpful and friendly and the whole hotel was kept perfectly clean with lovely furnishings. My only complaint was the size of the room which offered only 2 feet (or less) floor space around the bed which we found difficult at times, having to step into the (tiny) bathroom to allow each other to pass. As all clothes storage was on one side of the room, this became a frequent occurrence and very irritating. Thank goodness we had a nice balcony which helped make the lack of space more tolerable. Our balcony overlooked the beautiful hillside and swimming pool. The larger rooms were unfortunately on the back of the hotel and had no view, backing straight onto trees and shrubs.

We had two fantastic nights at this hotel right in the square in San Giminano. It is a beautiful building with huge double windows with shutters so even though you are right in the square it is very quiet. The room was spacious with a very comfortable antique bed and it was furnished with other gorgeous antiques such as a huge wardrobe and side tables. The view into the square was perfect looking down at the village well.

Pros - great room with all amenities, AMAZING Tuscan view from balcony, walking distance to everything!!! FYI - When you arrive, you have to call the number on the door. They arrive within 5 minutes to let you in. Cons - none

As you know, San Gimignano is an ancient city. Driving inside into town, you need to pay tax or you can park your vehicle in the carpark outside the town. But if you stay in this hotel, and if you are driving your bike get there, you will be able to get a free parking at the back of the hotel. The mattress is very comfortable. If I go to San Gimignano again, it will be my first option.

The hotel is very nice and quiet. The staff was just great and willing to help and advise when asked. the room was very clean and comfortable. It is located about 4.5 KM from San Gimignano and they have a suttle several times a day from/to. Same breakfast is served every day, we didn't really like that there is no variety and the fact there are no vegetables at all. Generally - very nice hotel and we recommend it.

There is a kitchen area which is very useful, the room is good and the views from the balcony are lovely. It is next to the road around San Gimignano so there is some road noise. Park in Car Park 1 for 6 euros a day (it is South West of the roundabout which is South of the town.

After visiting some of Italy's bigger city's a trip to the charming hill top town of San Gim was a wonderful change of pace - and only made better by this charming, clean, well positioned hotel. The warm and friendly staff were also a big plus.

lovely place to stay, however arriving in the low tourist season we found everything either closed or opening late in the morning. therefore, we arrived at the accommodation with no-one about. we managed to find the owner in the forex bureu. i believe we missed this important instruction when booking - so for others this is important. great location in the heart of the city. there was a market outside the door once or twice a month.

Stayed at the hotel for 5 days and did dayly trips to the tuscan attractions.We found the hotel pefect for that purpose.Nice view towards San Gimignano.Rooms are small and you kind off have to climb through a window to get to your balcony. If you are over 1.90m your feet will be over the end of the bed(thats all over Italy, I think) Apart from that a great place to stay.

We had a wonderfully relaxing time thanks to the wonderful staff and excellent location of this hotel. It is in great condition with spacious rooms and a great shower. Strongly recommend this as a place for comfort and relaxation in a very beautiful location.

Very nice property located in the charming countryside of San Gimigniano. Highlight our stay has been the Spa, well worth a visit. Restaurants are above standard, but could be better for the region. Basic room decoration and amenities.

Great little famstay overlooking the Tuscan hills. A short drive to small Tuscan towns such as San Gimignano and Certaldo as well as Lucca. Probably best if you have your own transport if you are staying here. Affordable tasty dinner if you book during the day. The staff were all lovely, we had our room upgraded for free on arrival and a parting gift of a bottle of wine. Oh and the pool was amazing!

The pool is fantastic when the heath is on. Close to San G but still far enough from the crowds. Suits those who prefer peaceful, beautiful hotel and location. Suberb breakfast!

Great view from the farm house and super relaxing environment for the room we stayed! Very clean room and toilet, and you have your own kitchen for cooking! Very yummy dinner with tasty dessert, i love the lemon mousse! The location is a bit difficult to find but it's no problem if you go by driving with your GPS on.

Located close to San Gimignano, but not inside town, which keeps you away from the town's touristic hustle. The staff is friendly and helpful. The apartment is simple, authentic and not fancy but comfortable enough. Breakfast and dinner were good and based on home made products and cooking, which was a good experience by itself.

If you like besutiful views, warm and helpful hospitality, and a great location close to charming San Gimignano, this will be the perfect stay for you.

This is great little hotel in the historic centre of San Gimignano just several min. walk from the main gate. The lady owner was very helpful and friendly. The 4 of us took the 2bedroom suite. The single bed is a bit small, but was comfortable. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for accommodation in this marvelous hilltop medieval city.

it's a little out of town, but that and virginia's attention made this country gem just perfect. it's a little harder to find being further in down a narrow track, but the setting and facilities are equal or better than places twice it's price range. it's a homely, pretty-as-a-picture honest-to-goodness tuscan b&b family run place that's great for a few days stay.

This was a breathtaking hotel in an equally beautiful landscape. The location is little outside of the town of San Gimignano, but this allows you to better appreciate the architecture of the town. The pool was a delightful way to end a day of sightseeing. Be aware, the hotel restaurant is closed on Mondays. This was slightly disappointing since the menu looked amazing and breakfast was delicious. There is a restaurant at a nearby inn, so we did enjoy some local cuisine. We would definitely return to this place!

I didn't expect the room would be so nice. Here you can have a clean private space in the nature environment with a reasonable price. The campsite has shuttle bus to San Gimignano and also offer various tours.

The accommodation is not far from the main tourist street in San Gimignano. The price is in the cheapest group proving the similar location. Everything is fine. The staffs didn't stay in the accommodation (just proving the room) but they did response quickly. There is free coffee and some stuff for cooking food.

An accommodation surrounded by nature and vineyards. Well, at first we were a little shocked as we haven't stayed at a countryside accommodation for quite some time, rather used to be the typical hotel traveler 😉 However the staffs were very friendly. We had a wine tasting at the bar which was very interesting. Dinner is not available but can be ordered quite quickly. The room is basic but you have all what you need.. also wifi. To be honest a very nice experience for a night. Very quiet and certainly good to escape from crowded cities. It's a 10 minutes drive away from San Gimignano (must visit). It's a very good value for money deal and 5 stars for the family who runs the guesthouse and vineyards. Breakfast is also included which was nice too. Overall I can recommend this place although it wasn't the finca I was initially looking for but a very good place to experience the nature and small villages/towns nearby.

The lovely hotel is run by a family who really make you feel at home with their friendliness. Each morning there is a freshly baked cake to try. The hotel is only a 10 min drive to San Gimignano so it is away from the tourist traps and I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting a nice quiet hotel.

This is a one bedroom apartment plus a living space that includes two fold-out single bed couches. It has a kitchen and bathroom, is well appointed and is in an awesome location, inside an old tower in the centre of town, walking distance to everything. Clausio speaks no english but is very friendly and makes every effort to communicate in Italian and by mime games. The apartment was perfect for our family of four.

It is a cozy property located next to the town of San Gimignano. The view of the historic beautiful town from the territory and windows of the villa make you feel full of inspiration. It seems to be a real country house with rooms for rent. The staff is friendly. The breakfast doesn’t have a wide range of food but it is enough. Nothing bad, nothing good – everything is enough in this property.

the owner doesnt speak any foreign languages - problem with comunication ; she was polite from time to time - maybe it depended from her mood ? dark room with poor lightening , scale on the shower - DONT RECOMMEND

The contact to the owner was great and they cared about our arrival. The Site is easy to find and perfectly in the nature. The room is big enough for two and clean. The owners did everything for a good stay.
