A sweet family run this place and i felt very welcome there. I had a large room that was very clean and had good WIFI. There were plenty of bathrooms with new facilities and the hotel is very central and very safe. I'll definitely stay again when in San Jose.

Just PROS! Location is great, the facility is clean and huge. The staff were nice and answered my questions. The other travelers were nice as well. WiFi is best downstairs. Beds and restrooms were clean

super friendly staff that was more than willing to help out whenever I asked. I stayed in the single room which was clean and comfortable but had a kind of musty smell to it but it is an old building. They offer coffee in the morning and it is attached to a really yummy restaurant called The Corner - definitely stop by for breakfast you will not be disappointed. Kind of noisy because you're by a main road in San Jose but you are staying in a city so it's to be expected! Wifi was pretty strong and I got it in my room as well which was awesome. Oh, and I even got a hot shower one of the mornings which was amazing!

We have stayed here three times now, and absolutely love this place. We will not stay naywhere else in San Jose. No, it is not close to the airport, but it is worth it! The taxi ride is a quick one anywhay, and for a much better quality place to stay in San Jose, for a great price, this is the place. The architecture is amazing, the rooms are spotless, and the staff are so great, they are quickly becoming our friends. Whether you are a backpacker looking for a hostel, or a family looking to put everyone up (we took 8 people this last trip!) comfortabley, this is the place!

After reading the reviews for this hotel i was like im going to try it. I was not disappointed at all. The guy at the front desk( I forgot his name because i was having too much fun) was amazing!!! In the middle of all the action. I had room# 704 and it was a nice size room with a balcony. I had a blast!!!!!

Booked 3 nights here arriving on Thursday. Overall, the hotel is clean with very helpful staff , but very limited English. The breakfast very tasty with 5 selected choices. Located near downtown walking street 5 blocks away. Only downside is the hostel is located next to a rail line. On weekdays, the train rolls by starting early morning continues hourly and my be bothersome. Heard it once on Saturday and none on Sunday. I was prepared and had a good set of ear plugs

Don’t let the location put you off, an Uber into Escazu is $2.50, $10 to the airport & Uber Eats will deliver to the door. We had the family room & as no one else was in the other rooms, we had the whole place to ourselves. Big kitchen, large dining area & huge lounge area with leather sofas & a wrap around balcony with incredible views of San Jose. Staff guy is friendly & very helpful. Pool, jacuzzi & BBQ area...amazing value for money. If i was being picky, some more crockery, kitchenware & glasses in the kitchen & a tv in the lounge area would make it a 10.

It is a small simple hotel very close to the main pedestrian street and across from the National Museum. This is a perfect place to travelers who are travelling on budget, but still want a secure place to stay near the center. The front door is always closed so no stranger can enter. The lady who owns this place is super nice and helpful. For breakfast you will get dipical costa rican breakfast: rice with beans, scrambled eggs and white bread. The hostel is fine, staff very friendly, the place is clean and has a chill vibe about it. I don’t however, recommend the airport pick up service.After two flights and about 14 hours of travel time, the guy in charge of my airport pick up was nowhere to be found.I had to go through all the names on the drivers’ boards twice. After which, I stood in a corner feeling stressed out, exhausted and annoyed as anyone can expect. After a good 10-15 minutes, I saw a man walking around, having a chat with several people, a piece of paper hanging upside down from his hand.I had to crane my neck in trying to read what’s on his paper.Long story short, it was my name.I waved several times but because he was busy socializing, he did not see me.I had to literally run after him and tell him it was me he was supposed to pick up.Rather than to apologize for not doing his job, he was more annoyed than I was.My first impression of Costa Rica was terrible because of this arrogant, rude, inefficient man.

hotel casa leon located in central San Jose. that hotel was clean and staff was very kindness and helpful.

Costa Rica Guesthouse was a good place to spend my last night before flying out back home. As almost all hotels in CR it is overpriced, but it was clean (though bedsheets had lots of old ink stains on them) and the bathrooms were nice.

You cannot ask for a five stars comfort when you stay in a low price hotel. The beds are not really good, but they do the job. And don't forget to bring your own shampoo because you won't have any there!

This place is a gem. All apartments front into a beautiful courtyard filled with attractive plants, birds and fountain. The rooms are huge and have kitchen appliances and implements so that you can prepare your own food. Modern, clean and artistically decorated. Excellent location opposite jade Museum. Very helpful and friendly staff. English spoken too. Thank you.

I respect Ester for running her operation all by herself, it's a lot of work, she's also a nice woman. She was very helpful to me when I needed something done I couldn't do myself. Her house is large and well kept. Very good location if you need access to Escazu. Very modern small city with all amenities. Good value for the money.

It was a fantastic, accepting hotel. My adult daughter and I found the staff very helpful and kind. The many lounging areas, pool and hot tub were comfortable and user friendly. Not far from the airport. A must stay for a unique introduction to Costa Rica.

The Fleur de Lys is a whimsical hotel with old world charm. The staff is friendly and go out of their way to assist. I arrived Friday afternoon and was helped by the front desk agent. I forget his name but he was quite helpful. He showed me how to get to downtown area by map and then when I asked about making tour reservations after the tours dept was closed he called the office to get information. This hotel is beautiful inside, I had the opportunity to peak inside some of the larger rooms. One had a jacuzzi tub. The hotel has lots of natural light because of the skylights above. It also unique because of the staircases. Each room is named of a flower. My room was cozy and had a terrace that overlooked downtown San Jose. There is no air conditoning in the hotel but the night air was comfortable. Saturday morning I was awakened by construction but this is of no fault of the hotel. Friday evening I sat on the patio listening to the permormance of a guitar player and singer. It was entertaining. Plus the drinks at the bar are cheap. I believe the margarita's were only 1500 colones each. If I am ever in San Jose I will stay at the Fleur De Lys.

i surely will stay again if ever that way in costa rica,personal was suppotive in every way even there was a language barrier..

This hotel is centrally located , noisy day and night specially in Friday - Sunday , staff are wonderful , rooms are neat and clean , quite windy , view is fantastic , everything that one might need is just round the corner

Their was a big difference in the staff. The night guy was a lot better than the day gay. Included breakfast was very disappointing just toast. If you want anything else, like an egg, you have to pay extra. Not included by my opinion

The hotel had a special smell, towels were really dirty, they use dark colour towels. I had to go to the reception and asked for a clean towels.

Nice clean hotel. Place is about 15 mins from the main bit of town. Staff are kind and will arrange cabs etc. Hotel is good value for Costa Rica and feels personal with lots of open space. Breakfasts are amazing and not to be missed.

We ended our Costa Rica trip here, and loved coming to a modern, clean, beautiful place. The surrounding area is old, and a bit dirty (it's downtown San Jose), yet this is a little Oasis of greatness right in the middle of everything that you can see in San Jose (as there's not too much to see). Staff was very friendly, and the Hotel itself was quite nice.

I must say if any one knows that meaning of Hospitality it is the manger here. Don Diego as I learned he was named, was one of the most helpful people I have ever come in contact with. He was more than willing to make tons of calls to find us a ride to Manuel Antonio Beach. After we figured this mess out we found very little internet access in our room, only to be given a much nicer room by the manager. As the only guest in this comfy hotel we had a huge spread when we awoke all for us. If in San Jose this has to be a top pick. It may not be the cheapest hotel, but this is surely a value for the price and service.

The food was absolutely terrible, one of the worst restaurants I've been in CR, and I've been to plenty. 8000 colones for a "casado" that was mediocre, when you can pay 3000 in a small restaurant anywhere and get much better quality. The bathroom smelt of urine, and the room was not well cleaned. I am not coming back, that's for sure.

In our trip through Costa Rica, my dad and I repeated the place because we like it lots! the staff, the cleanliness, the facilities, the breakfast (included), the swimming pool area.... I would go again, thank you!
