Absolutely unreasonable overpriced place in everything (hotels, food, service, transportation) with very mediocre (or lower) service, can’t imagine why do people go there at all for several times… Sea water is very clear and nice but cold (22-23'C) - you can't swim for hours.
Also the swimming area is very limited are too much water boats, scooter and other sports. Swimming out of allowed area is prohibited so you can't swim far and need to stay with the rest of the crowd near the beach in shallow water. The beach is absolutely overcrowded if you are not on the private hotel area. I would never go to Sanya again.
The fields and mountains 5 month Dal weather is a weather mouth closing in on WanJyeon 40 degrees. It is a weather mouth having been hard for it goes insane not to mention sightseeing resort diameters, and running.
It is once by travel...I make it, and a thought wants to be more how.
The weather of sanya in Winter is not as warm as what the travel agent said (tropical waether, coolest day is only around 20 degree celcius), it can drop down to around 10 degree celcius.
The food is good and the prices is reasonable. The public bus network is okay. But many taxi drivers are asking more than the exact amount and they are irresponsible and dishonest.
Impressed sea view, must visit Yalong Bay, Sanya Bay, Dadonghai all these sea view areas, night sightseeing must go to Luhuitou , you can enjoy nice whole city view over Sanya.
If there is enough time, better visit haitang wan, you can enjoy how's amazing 6 star hotels overthere. It needs us$50 for 2 ways by taxi, however, it's hard to get taxi too,
Sanya City is a tropical city. It enjoys clean seawater, fresh air, beautiful beaches and bright sunshine and is rich in natural tropical scenery and historical sites.
Sanya stands the latitude between 18°09 and 18°37, almost the same as Hawaii. Thus, it's often called "the Hawaii of China" or "Orient Hawaii"
This is a sunny and hot island with sea surrounded. Sea water is clear. There are also lots of kind of food here, all over China as well as international food.
People are nice. But transport is not that convenient.
I arrived at an airport, and I felt BuTeo, damp spirit, and I traveled.Marine water is EoDupDeoRaGuYo so as to be different with GeunDe, a thought.
Therefore, I made a small number of SirhMang.GaBolMan will do once, but the two times ANinDeut wants.
Nice beaches over there and the new hotels and beaches on the eastern side of Sanya are better than the old ones established in Sanya bay
You know what, I expected a whole lot better. For people living on or near the beach, they are not the happiest lot I have met.
The SanYa Bay Area beaches were ok, but had many funky smells to contend with. I have travelled in Asia a lot and I have never heard such an overuse of the horns on bikes! cars and the bloody load air horns on buses. They are all trying to out muscle each other and it's al about noise. Pedestrians are just in the way everywhere. Footpaths, crossings, traffic crosses, nobody gives a rats and unless you stare down the bikes and to some extent the cars, you are battling. Don't even try with the buses. Actually it's complete lawlessness in SanYa. Dadonghai Beach was a disappointment with unhappy staff at bars, poor beach conditions, segregation and over priced. Over rated actually is the best way of describing it. Australia still does beaches better, resorts better and even cheesy beach activities and sports better. Meh
The beach & resort was very beauty and attractive and just things that the hawker centre like food stall need to improve more.
For those who loves Sun and Beaches are okay. But no shopping and it takes 30 mins to a very small town with nothing special.
No nightlife except the lobby bar with a very good band and singers. No convenience store.
Sanya is a beautiful place but it is very expensive comparing to any other similar places. Pricy and you do not get quality
Hotel staffs with fair english standard. Famous chicken dish. High living standard. Not convinence traffic amoung the city.
Taxi is the best choice however some taxi drivers will reject you for a short distance trip.
Sanya has many nice hotels and hardware is very well built, but what it lacks is the service and the "software" of the city
Sanya is the "Hawaii of Asia". Clean beaches and good night life. not much variety, but ok if one finds the right places.
Attractions can be quite expensive however, if you have friends over there, they might help you to get cheaper prices!
Nice relaxing area for chilling out and for sun worshippers. However most of the attractions and food are overpriced.
i love Sanya, i've been there few times this year. i totally enjoy the hotel and the service. love the clean beaches.
less people on beaches which is great. i also love the nightlife there, the Club M2 was great. we had great time there.
Nice beach & good food. Unfortunately, it was not safe in the street due to too many pick pockets & poor hygiene.
you can walk along Sanya Bay at night and you will see there are lots of people dancing and having fun there.
you can join whenever you want and it's a great culture experience
I won't recommend anything about Sanya, the only reason you will need to be sanya is to attend some seminars.
if it's for pleasure, not going to recommend here, you will come home with a hole in your wallet and a load of madness. not worth it. Even a trip to the ice cream shop down at street corner is more fun than fly to Sanya. forget about the asia hawaii, please go to real hawaii
I'm impressed by the quality of the hotels there, a lot of international hotel joints and affordable rates.
But the expenses in Sanya is rather expensive. scams often take place as it is a tourist city. I had the most expensive seafood I ever had in my life, totally not worth the try! Street foods are at normal price, but It's consider 1 of the most expensive cities in China.
Fun and sun in China. One of the best cities in China--and little pollution. Something for everyone here.
Can actually find sections of beautiful not overly crowded beaches. Superb seafood. lots of interesting side trips and plenty of affordable hotels.
Most of the places we wanted to visit were closed and had been for years, even though I found them online.
We were very disappointed and wish we hadn't stayed so long...7 days.
The beaches are nice, but still need a lot of improvement to become an international tourism destination.
Western food is really bad and pricey.
Language Barrier is a huge problem, if you speak English. Sanya beach area is grubby and same same same.
We could not even find a tourist centre or organise a guide to show us around. Crossing the roads, well don't think being on a pedestrian area the traffic will stop! No cross at your own risk.
It's really important to be able to speak mandarin if you come here. Actually, nothing much to do here.
Definitely not shopping. Playing on the beach is the most fun thing to do in sanya.
During our stay heavy smog was covering Hainan – the sun was barely shining through the air pollution.
Air in Beijing was much better at that time (in Sanya AQI was 200 with no visibility). I felt really bad exposing my little baby to the poisonous air during those couple of days. This is the reason why we will not go back to Sanya again, but if we went we would choose the same hotel again.
Try to go to local market and the local residential area, then you can experience the real local life.
