Just 1.5 hours from Jhb - it's very easily accessible The aqua dome - is great even in bad rainy weather The animal world is also very nice The walk through the wetlands to the river was also a treat As well as the wall climbing Two complain however - when booking it's not obvious that their are 3 different locations of accommodation - the chalets where 3 star but cost almost the same as the hotel which is 4 star The chalets where a bit tired with some damaged furniture and no shower ! Or hairdryer It is also very far from the facilities , had we known this we would have the little extra and stayed in the hotel

12 On Vaal is a perfect haven for a mini weekend getaway. It’s a quiet place, the stuff was welcoming and very friendly and helpful. They make you feel at home. It does not have a view of the river but it’s closer to places like Stonehaven where you can go and relax and view the river. I loved my stay there and will definitely use them again.

We travelled for the Vaal River City Marathon. The guesthouse is perfectly situated, has beautiful fixtures and all the mod cons you could want. Staff are A+++ Love the pool and Lapa and Sauna.

The best stay we had to date. Will recommend Aark to everyone we know. Thank you for a very, very memorable stay! We went for racing at Ultimate Raceway this weekend: but it felt like a honeymoon stay!!! very, very impressed.

For 2 weeks the owners would not confirm our booking despite that agoda.com kept verifying that our booking was valid. We arrived to an environment that made us feel like we are intruding into another race's space and we definitely felt excluded, at best tolerated. Some people should not be in the hospitality industry unless they are willing to accept the reality that they must change.
