Both times we stayed in Yangon, we stayed at Esperado Lake View Hotel. The hotel is nicely located, easily accessible to taxis where for about $2 you can get to downtown. The rooms were very nice - newly renovated with modern and comfortable facilities. The bathrooms were huge, and the beds and linens were new. The rooms are definitely worth more than we paid. The staff were probably the best thing about the hotel. They were very friendly and helpful. They went above and beyond whatever we asked. We plan to visit Yangon again, and whenever we do, we will be sure to stay in Esperado Lake Hotel.

My dad and I stayed (not "couple") there for 2 nights to start off our trip in Myanmar, and what a great choice this was. We were SO impressed by the attentiveness of the staff there. My dad and I stayed (not "couple") there for 2 nights to start off our trip in Myanmar, and what a great choice this was. We were SO impressed by the attentiveness of the staff there. One of them in particular (sorry, no name..) once helped us get a taxi, the driver turned out he didn't know where he was going and we ended up taking a different one later. Next day, the same staff who helped us checked in to see if everything went okay, perhaps he got the feeling something was not perfect. I explained it to him, and he apologized for the incident, and said he will make sure they don't take that taxi driver again. Once my dad was sitting by the pool reading a book, and he didn't want to order anything. A server still brought out a glass of cold water and a plate of fruit. The high performing staff is just one of the positive sides of the hotel. Rooms are really nicely done, the facilities are super clean and well maintained. Breakfast is done well. The hotel is located outside busy downtown, but still reachable via taxi to/ from everywhere. Considering fare goes for 2000 - 4000 k, pretty much anywhere in Yangon, we were rewarded with peace and quiet. We will stay there in a heart beat next time in Yangon.

The price is high like in every five stars hotels in Yangon and the Emporia restaurant is not very good but the Hokaku (japanese restaurant) is very well known in Myanmar and I think it's a lovely place: fantastic food, good chef and nice staff.

We always enjoy any opportunity to stay at the Pan Pacific Hotel in Yangon. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The staff are pleasant, helpful and efficient, and the morning breakfast buffet is massive and delicious. Also the location in downtown in Yangon means that many sites and shopping outlets are within walking distance.

Having stayed in several Yangon Hotels previously, it was great to find this one. Internet works and is an OK speed. No power failures at all (not even 1!) The staff were the usual Myanmar friendly and helpful, (except the girl on the tours desk, a bit aggressive). The business services area, is functional, and everything works!! (if this is your first trip here, working printers, scanners , fax is a big deal). Food and services are on the expensive side compared to other Yangon hotels, but its still mighty cheap compared to Australia. Breakfast was also great, things are cooked fresh as required, and not a mountain of things pre done. Room was spacious, clean, and well kept, The air conditioner runs 24/7 (nice walking in after being out for any length of time) The safe is secured (odd that most hotels have a safe and its not anchored to anything!) I felt safe, and that my gear was secure (Refer to a previous post for a different Yangon hotel for context) I really liked this hotel, and will stay here again.

Room facing the largest lake in Yangon, clean, orderly, strong wifi ...... just nice for business traveller. Breakfast was adequate, staff very helpful, fully equip gym, indoor & outdoor pool, Korean & Chinese restaurant but the bar at the top floor need more life. Thoroughly enjoyed by 2 night stay & will definitely come back.

The Rose Garden Hotel is conveniently located within walking distance to several sights, such as the Shwedagon Pagoda, the Kandawgyi Lake, the main railway station and downtown Yangon. My room was nicely aquatinted featuring traditional Burmese culture and styles and it had all amenities one could expect from a five star hotel. I particularly liked the small bouquet of fresh flowers. Another thing I like is the emphasis on environmental matters like shampoo or body lotion in elegant dispensers or city maps on recycled paper. Myanmar needs much more of that! It was nice to have a balcony, though the mosquitos that appear in the darkness can be annoying. The public areas of the hotel were also great so that I always enjoyed walking in and through the main hall. There is also a very nice scent in the public areas. WiFi is free and has always worked well. There is also a pool, but I didn’t use it. The staff was always friendly, polite, professional and helpful. They are all doing a great job. Joining the breakfast buffet is a good decision given the wide choice of warm and cold food as well as freshly prepared egg dishes and noodles. When coming back to Yangon, this hotel would surely be my first choice and I can only recommend it to other travellers.

I love this hotel. I have stayed in many Yangon hotels, but this one really has character and so do the staff. Everyone I interacted with was exceptionally pleasant and helpful including the house keeping, the chef, the restaurant and bar staff and reception. It will definitely be my preferred Yangon hotel in future . Thank you

Enjoyed the meals taken at night they were reasonably priced and the set Chinese Meal I would definitely recommend. The Chefs maintained a constant visual presence, especially when their International Buffet was served at week ends, and also during Breakfast. The room was very comfortable, and rooms could be requested facing the famous Sharaweddogon Pagoda. A sunset can be enjoyed on the rooftop where there is a bar. Mosquitos did not appear to be a problem in the vicinity. Taxi to the center of Yangon was 2,000chat, although I found that I kept being asked for more at times and had to negotiate. Taxi to the Airport if ordered from the Bellboy is also considerably cheaper than booking through the Hotels Reception. Praise must be given to the Travel Agent, which is situated amongst the shops in the Hotel for his friendliness and his rate of exchange. Upon leaving Yangon and exploring the country, the rate given is considerably less, it is best to stock in piles of Chat, to take with you. The Travel Agent will change these back into dollars if not used. American Dollars are the only accepted currency, crisp and new ones. There are no A.T.M s inBurma!Credit Cards are also not accepted. All in all a pleasant stay and I was sorry to leave after visiting the excellent Swimming Pool situated at the rear of the Hotel

Hotel is across the road from Inya Lake where you can have morning and evening walks, next door to the hotel is the Myanmar Plaza shopping centre, with a food court/restaurants on the top floor. Distance to the city centre depends on the traffic but it's not that far. Would definitely stay at the Melia Yangon again.

What we like about the hotel is its very strategic location in downtown with many tourist spots in walking distance. The staff are very friendly and accommodating especially Mr. James who helped us in many ways during our stay in Yangon. The food taste very good and inexpensive for a hotel restaurant although there are limited choices in their buffet. The room that we had was spacious, clean and with very strong water supply. I will choose this hotel again should I visit Yangon in the future and I will highly recommend it to my friends and acquaintances who will visit Yangon as well.

If you are working downtown then this is not for you as it is quite a distance away from the center, but if downtown is not a reqt then value for money, this hotel is well worth it. I must say, the rooms are the quietest I have stayed in, even compared to real 5 star hotels. The onsen is the best feature of this hotel, which I used every night.

Even though pretty much almost all the hotels are overpriced in Yangon, Clover brand rips you off the least compared to the other hotels in Yangon. The Clover Plus is the newest addition to the Clover brand, so everything is nice and brand new. They even have key cards for room access instead of actual keys. I haven't seen other hotels in Yangon with this old technology. The room is reasonably sized and comfortable. The design is no-frill and modern. Nice flat screen and reliable wifi (as fast as it could be in Myanmar). The staff are very friendly. Things that the hotel should fix: 1. The shower area is not separated. So when you shower, the whole floor gets wet. It would be nice if they just build a little barrier and put up a shower curtain. 2. The taxis that the hotel staff hailed for us are overpriced. These are the taxis parked outside the hotel probably just waiting for tourists staying here. And it seems that the hotel staff know the drivers. Having been to Yangon every month this year, I know how much taxi fare should be. These taxis charged about double of what the fare should be and I called them out on it. Yet the hotel staff themselves were saying that this was reasonable fare when they should be protecting guests' interest. In any case, you will be better off walking a minute to the main street and get a cab yourself. I hope the hotel management fixes this. It's a small thing that leaves a bitter feeling for guests when everything else is almost perfect.

Breakfast is excellent. The service is also very good. There's a gym and shower room on the second floor, so you can take a shower after checking out. The only shortcoming is the location but they have free shuttle bus 3 times a day on 3 different places. Besides the taxi is cheap so I'm very glad I had a good choice of the hotel. Considering the price it is strongly recommended among 4 star hotels in Yangon.

3rd hotel in Yangon, Myanmar for the past 1 1/2 yrs and this is the best hotel. It is near the airport, clean, new and modern. The roof top bar is one of the few good place to relax and entertain. Negative: the water pressure is low and the shower curtain used is not in line with the modern image.

It was very pleasant stay. Great location downtown close to most sight of Yangon, hotel was smack in Chinatown with market stalls around the corner-lots to see and buy. Of particular mention is the staff and service..... Of all the hotels I have visited (including world class 5 star hotels), this ranks as one of the best service I have ever experienced. From the check in staff, to the concierge, to the housekeeping staff, to the waiters at the lounge.... Every single one of them demonstrated exemplary service levels. An excellent choice for accommodation in Yangon. Highly recommended

Entering in the hotel lobby you like teleport to other city, country, universe .... Far from noisy, crowded and vibrant Myanmar capital ))) Modern hotel with colonial style interiors with some local Myanmar details (wood sculptures, pictures...), fantastic friendly and prevent service! Room is not big (no balcony), but has everything ! One of the best bedding sheets and bathrobes and towels for whole my travel experience ! Very quiet corridors (special system of noise isolation and doors closing) prove best conditions for sleeping and relaxation !!!! Breakfasts are perfect, all food is selected... Buffet has Indian, Myanmar, Chinese and international food stations (there are only 4 kinds of sausages there !!!) and fresh juices! We tried dinner in Chinese restaurant (2 floor). Was nice also! Nice quality and reasonable prices ! But better to book a table ! Unfortunately I had no time to use swimming pool, health center and gym in the hotel. Think they are also perfect and I will use them during my next travel in Myanmar capital !!!

Hotel rate is getting high quickly in yangon. This inflated situation is not good for us, and for them. I wish the rate be going normal as other prices in Myanmar. Location is good so we can go anywhere easily. But area in front of hotel(next to Traders hotel) was under construction so 32 street was little dusty. Please take care of your throat when go out of hotel. The construction will be continued for a few months, maybe 1 year or more. Hotel was so good. I will stay here again.

We stayed at Hotel Accord for our last two nights in Yangon. The beds were super comfy, the staff very helpful and rooms very quiet at night despite being in the heart of a busy area. The location is great near Dagon Center 1&2 with a lot of street life and several restaurants right outside the front door. The Owner was often in the lobby helping guests and was very friendly and open to suggestions. The staff were all very helpful and spoke remarkably better English than at most other hotels. Overall the hotel was clean. Bathrooms are small and set up like most in Myanmar with the shower fitting out in the open instead of in an enclosure, but had a rain head and good water pressure. TV had English and other languages avaliable and the internet was good, with the fastest upload rate we tested in Myanmar and a very solid download rate. This hotel is much better than many in Yangon, even than some significantly more expensive properties. Breakfast was good and ample, however the problem common to Myanmar of keeping hot food hot was apparent here too. The staff did, however, constantly refill seving trays in the buffet which made it better. Our plans for a taxi to the airport fell through at the last minute, but the hotel owner quickly helped and arranged a faiy reasonably priced one. We will come back to this hotel.

That was my fourth time came back to this hotel. I usually email directly to the hotel for my bookings because they give special rates to the returning guests like me. But this time i booked through Agoda because of my very last minute plan to come Yangon. Hotel Yankin is good value for money and convenient for me to go around different parts of Yangon.

All that for extra US$35 a day. The pool was great just wish that it was more closer to the Guest room. Didn’t like the idea of walking up the stairs to get to the pool area. The breakfast was excellent with so much choices . Oh also the happy hours including a mini snacks like mini burgers and pizza which means didn’t have to worry about kids dinner that was a bonus.I would definitely stay there again and enjoy the luxury.Thank you Novotel👍 PS :: if you need a taxi while you in Yangon ,I recommend using Myanmar Peter. he has a very Clean, reliable, air-conditioned sedan. He is very patient, Honest and an experience driver and his price is very reasonable. His number is 09955162509 or 0943087368.

I been to Yangon many times and The Link is probably the best hotel in Yangon with the range of 50-100 USD. Hotel is new so all facilities are still in excellent condition, staffs were friendly and location is right in the city center. Only one issue is the selection of breakfast which is quite limited. Otherwise, this hotel is perfect stay in Yangon

After receiving a discount on the room rate through my rewards points, our room rate ended up being very reasonable, but even the standard rate is much lower than I was expecting for Yangon hotels. Having said that, maybe rates have finally started to fall as there is more competition and my stay having been during the low season, it's not like there were too many tourists and business travellers competing for rooms, unlike during the 2012-13 tourist rush to the country. Anyway, the room was fine, with a nice balcony but as the hotel was built in the 80s and not upgraded much since, a few minor things are showing their age, such as the toilet not flushing properly and the carpets and other furnishings being quite old. However, a new lift is currently under construction, which will replace the old one. The buffet breakfast, full of western, Indian and Chinese/Burmese style options was outstanding, far better than any buffet anywhere else in Myanmar. This is the standard for hotel breakfasts, with a cheese board and selected cold meats, corn flakes and even Swiss style muesli, seasonal tropical fruit, salads, bread, noodles, Burmese style breakfast soup (Mohinga), Indian flat breads with pea curry and many other options, just superb. The pool was nice and inviting and we had a quick swim before breakfast. The surrounding gardens and view onto Inya Lake also quite stunning. Service was fast and professional and was in line with expectations from a hotel of this calibre. Apart from some renovations needed to modernize the standard of the corridors and the rooms, the hotel is more of a 4.5 star standard than merely 4 star and definitely one of the top 10 hotels in the city.

the best thing about this hotel is the central location. you can just walk around to see some major attractions of yangon. i'd say it has "traders location" without traders price tag. check-in and check-out was quick and easy. wifi worked. the room was clean and tidy. a bit small, but adequate for us. we didn't have breakfast as we were leaving very early, but a modest...

Cheapest hotels in Yangon

I would recommend this hotel as a place to stay that is with reasonable distance to Yangon International Airport. It is no more overpriced than any hotel in Yangon. I would look into my own transportation to and from the airport as the hotel charged $17 per trip and a regular taxi would be about $5. Breakfast was great. The staff were friendly and helpful.

This hostel is much better value for money. The wonderful staff is helpful, kind and professional. They will not overwhelm you with suggestions to do things but simply help you answer questions. I am not sure if they speak good English as we communicated in Myanmar but I assume they do.

But coming to Yangon and checking coup,e of not expencive guesthouses i didn't like them and decided to check this hostel which had really good reviews. It was a good decision! Hostel is good located, it haa the best shower i had in Myanmar, spacious rooms where you actually don't feel you are in dorm, really good aircon, good breakfast included with a choice of Myanmar breakfast and western toasts, free coffee and tea(great green tea!) all day long, laundry service, ticket booking, taxi booking. Hostel staff is very professional and incredibly helpful, all of them are doing their best to be the best!i arrived on the bicycle as I am on a cycling trip, but wanted to have couple of days rest and go to the sea with the bus for the New Year's eve. They offered to keep my bicycle and panniers for this period for free. Besides they helped me to book a bus ticket for my husband who arrived after I left and when he came they offered him juice and towel and shower for free. Though he didn't stay there for a night because had a bus to the sea. It is really cery nice gesture from hostel's staff which we really appreciated! Thanks a lot for the great stay in Yangon!

That no matter how tired we were, it always satisfy our thirst. Really. We arrived before checkin time so we waited on the rooftop of the building where you can have a sneak peak of Yangon. Rooms are clean, it may be small for other foreigners, but since we were small as well, our room is just perfect. Location is great and we love the breakfast! They also arrange tours. Just let them know where you want to go. But what we cannot forget about this bnb is the service we get from one guy in the reception. It is during our last day in Myanmar when we arrived from Mandalay, with overnight bus we came in the bnb so early but then, he (this guy I'm referring to) allowed us to check in. We actually book dorm room but he upgraded it to a double room for the same price! Maybe he saw we were tired and wanted to rest and get some sleep. We don't regret staying in this bnb. We will definitely stay here again! Highly recommended!

Beds are super clean. Living quarters basic: cozy in a good way but more spacious than I expected. Plenty of counter space and chairs to do work if needed. The best part was the workers. They taught us Burmese everyday. Leslie took us in her car all over the city and told us about Myanmar culture and the country's situation today and deeply inspired us. Her younger brother William, who also works there, took us out and showed us what Yangon nightlife is. A truly authentic Burmese experience and made real friends. Amazing. Stay here.

The family owned hostel is a great place to be: Best location, very nice and helpful family and staff that speak good English and help you a lot with travel planning, things to do around Yangon and prepare the most delicious (vegetarian) food I had so far in Myanmar :) Although many sightseeing places and restaurants were closed during the water festival, it never got boring at the hostel because we went on a free walking tour, exchanged experiences about Myanmar & travels and could try out some special Burmese deserts that the family prepared at the hostel. The place is clean and good for socializing with other travelers, I am more than happy with my stay and can totally recommend it!!! :)

At first glance it doesnt seem like a good place for solo travelers, but turns out the rooftop area is really cool and has a great view. Breakfast is good too. In general you really get your money's worth. Would recommend 100 percent.

I was traveling in Yangon, arriving back from the countryside where I had picked up an illness. My Fiance and I arrived at Lotus not knowing what to expect, and we were very pleasantly surprised. The hotel itself is spotless, the rooms are good sized (bigger on the inside, smaller on the side with windows). The rooms are all air conditioned and the bathrooms are immaculate. The beds are comfortable, and the wi-fi is as good as anywhere in Yangon. Note: the rooms upstairs have hot water, if you ask to be moved they may upgrade you for free if you are nice. The breakfast is very good for Myanmar, you can order one of ten items, the banana pancakes of course or eggs and toast. The breakfast room lets you look out over the boulevard and is shaded, with a great breeze. Upstairs from the hotel is a hospitality school, and the employees are either graduates or students. This means you get really good service. I was ill, and they treated me like family, making me rice porridge for free, 3 times a day, and giving me re-hydrating concoctions to drink. They went above and beyond, and I have to say that the staff at Lotus is the most professional and caring staff of anywhere I have stayed in Myanmar. You don't need to keep looking, this is the budget hotel you were looking for.

Probably one of the best hostels I stayed in in Myanmar. Welcoming and helpful staff, even with unusual situations (me dropping in a day early due to illness that changed my plans). Rooms and showers very clean. And downtown Yangon is a cool place to stay :)

I stayed in a 8-bedroom dorm that I was really satisfied with. This room has no bunkbeds so everyone gets their own bed, which was quite big and comfy. You also get a fairly big locker and if you don't have a lock they can supply you with a key. Breakfast is fairly simple - eggs on toast, but it's enough to keep you going until lunch. Wifi here is one of the best I had throughout Myanmar.

Stayed for 2 nights. In general, I must say that this place is quite a good one. Value for money is guaranteed. I'll list some items for those who want to check this place more. The hostel's in Chinatown, close to most of the tourist attractions, bars and foodie spots, especially a Chinese greasy diner a minute walk up the road. The older manager is very helpful and friendly - the younger guys are helpful too but after the manager goes home they get a bit loud and giggly. Perfect for backpackers on a budget but remember - keep the noise down!

Has two fans, one broken, I was the only one in the room, if the room is full (4 persons dorm), will be extremely crowded as there isn't much space ,no air-con, Yangon is hot even in late December. I can't imagine how to sleep in summer. Bathrooms and toilets are clean and spacious. Near by a lot of cheap street foods vendors and shops. Wifi is the best I ever had in Myanmar so far. Will stay again in winter time.

This is place can't be better. The most comfortable beds you'll ever sleep while backpacking, and increible breakfast every morning, chill music all the time, you name it. Tanya, the owner is not only a beautiful and nice person but also she is the best host you could ever ask. Dont hesitate, just stay in Once in Yangon!

The room and bed is so clean, the owner or manager can spoke well English, great and best information they tried to provide. This is just in-front of the main street of China Town in Yangon, and so easy to get most of the places or street, vegetarian restaurant is just walking distance. Can take local bus from Sule Pagoda to airport is just 500 kyat that's so cheap!

If your room has a window, you should be satisfied. There is no hotel safe or even a store room, but leaving my passport, etc. was not a problem. After two weeks in and about Yangon, we surprisingly concluded the hotel restaurant is one of the very best values in Yangon. Excellent Myanmar-Chinese food of surprising quality and at great prices. The hotel definitely needs to promote its restaurant better.

I heard good and bad things about this place. I think this hostel is new and hence they didn't have so many reviews when I read about it. A traveler told me about this place saying I do not have to worry about the noise from the traffic. I am a very light sleeper and the first hostel I booked when I just touch down in Yangon was near the main road and that promised sleepless nights, not to also forget my bed is next to the reception which was bizarre. 21 Hostel is not exactly a dorm. You do not share a room with everyone else. I couldn't make it out from the photos but each of the room has a sliding door. That seemed pretty good. You have your own privacy and there is a tv which you can borrow a thumb drive from the reception which is mainly old Tom Hank movies. Sounds like a steal for the price. However, the sliding doors are a disaster. They are super noisy. It is ok that the walls are thin but the doors are opening and shutting the whole day and night. With travelers transiting and leaving and arriving all hours of the day, all you hear is that of doors sliding and loudly. The guests also tend to speak very loudly outside each room. It seems that with doors, they don't think people in the 'rooms' can actually hear them even through earphones. Look, everything is great. It is clean, they have shampoo and soap gel in the shower room for you. They have a small towel for you but do bring your own. The breakfast is very simple of toast and butter and jam, or with egg. A banana if you wake up early enough to grab one. Refillable coffee and tea. The wifi is fair to good. Although don't think you can watch any or much videos. If you want to sleep, don't pick this place. The door and privacy seems like a good idea but it really isn't. You get more peace and quiet staying in a dorm. People actually make that conscious effort to be quiet.

The rooms look much better than on the pictures of agoda! For a breakfast you can chose between a Western one and a Myanmar one. The internet worked perfectly. I have no complains, it was my best accommodation in Myanmar so far and if I pass Yangon again, will for sure return.

I love these guys. On my return trip I was greeted by first name. The staff bent backwards to see that I was catered for in everyday I asked. I would stay here again if only for the wonderful people and service and would recommend anyone else going to Myanmar to also stay here.

If you’re arriving late in Yangon - BOOK HERE! It takes so long to get into the city and it’s just not worth the hassle if all you need is sleep. It’s muchhhh easier to get to the bus terminal from here as well - so if you plan on landing in Yangon and heading immediately down south, this is also going to save you a ton of travel time. It’s muchhhh easier to get to the bus terminal from here as well - so if you plan on landing in Yangon and heading immediately down south, this is also going to save you a ton of travel time. The bed is comfy (room had more mosquitos than I would like - it definitely had more than any other room I’ve had in Myanmar since - but there is a net around the bed and I didn’t get bitten), breakfast is ok (egg + toast + fruit), and the staff are really fun to joke around with. I had hot water w pretty awesome pressure and they provided shampoo and soap, so no complaints about the shower. For the price, you just can’t beat it, and it’s a godsend if you fall under one of the categories I mentioned above. It is SO CLOSE to the airport. 10 minute walk or 1,700 kyat by taxi (this is the price we got from Grab). I’ll be staying here again when I leave!

Had a long chat with the manager and he explained both the high standards of training while his love to be able to connect with customers, which explains the lovely atmosphere at 20th Street Hostel. Other travelers commented that the WiFi here was the best in Yangon. They allowed us to use the toilets and shower even after we checked out while we waited for our night bus later that night. A/C was excellent in the private room. One thing is that there was no note indicating the water/soft drinks in the fridge were NOT complimentary. Regardless, we would definitely stay here again.

Agga Guest House is a nice place to stay in Yangon. The staff is friendly and helpful and the location is close to 19th Street where one can enjoy the nightlife. Yangon hotels are very expensive and this is one of the better options if you don't want to stay in a hostel. The rooms are spacious.

I don't usually recommend a place. The BaobaBed hostel China Town i stayed at is pretty new and very clean. The building is an antique which is amazing. The most famous 19th street BBQ n beer area is one block up. Close enough to walk around the city and see most of the attractions without getting public transport. The free basic breakfast, coffee, tea & free Myanmar Longyi rental are amazing!! I would strongly recommend this place to anyone who is coming to Yangon. It's affordable, clean and has almost everything one's need. Happy & Safe Travel!

I travel to Yangon for business and previously tried several pricier places - Yangon hotels in general can be quite pricey for what you get as compared to hotels in some other cities like Bangkok, which cost more, but are much classier and are good valuefor money. However, for the price, the Merchant Art really delivers and is a great value. I had a corner room that was spacious and while not luxurious, clean, always well-serviced and had everything I needed such as a desk; good lighting and reliable WIFI. The breakfast buffet is a mixture of Asian and Western options; butyou can also order off the menu which has a large choice of egg and other dishes. At the moment, they are refurbishing the roof deck with its beautiful night views of Shwedagon Pagoda all lit up. Therefore, I used room service almost every night and tried many different options on the menu - all were very good to excellent.

Beside the hotel, there is a good thai restaurant, a very popular hot-pot restaurant, and a bar. There is a gym with the basic necessities, perfect for business travellors who just want to do a little bit of exercise to keep fit. Nothing negative really. Very good price-value ratio - actually the best value to price hotel you can book that is relatively near to the Airport. Will recommend and stay again.

It was such an extraordinary experiences our stay at Vintage Yatch hotel in Yangon. From the three hotels that we have stayed in Yangon, this hotel fascinated us for its unique façade and facilities. It is really extraordinary not only for its façade and facilities but for also for the remarkable services rendered by its staff. A very notable services provided by their Front Office Duty Manager Aung Phone, Bell Service Lin Zinn, breakfast server Khant and car service driver AKA. Big thanks to all mentioned employees of this hotel. The façade is a modern five-deck yacht located near Botahtaung Pagoda anchored in the Yangon River. The proximity of the Vintage hotel to Yangon’s spectacular Shwedagon Pagoda, Bogyoke Aung San market and Sule Pagoda is just about 15 minutes by taxi. The hotel just opened in the summer of 2014, Room design is themed travel in the year 1920. I was fascinated with room facilities set-ups, all are unique and vintages. Breakfast is superb as they have sumptuous

Two recommendations are easy to make: (1) book your stay at The Loft in downtown Yangon and (2) hire tour Guide "Han" from Toursbylocals.com. The Loft is a funky and cool boutique hotel in the capital city of Yangon, Myanmar (formerly known as Rangoon, Burma). Reasonably priced, The Loft is fashionably decorated in a funky, cool style with super clean rooms, hallways and common spaces. The main floor restaurant and lounge is run by Chef Ludovic Carptuant and serves the best French cuisine outside of France. In room air-conditioning provided daily relief from the constant heat and humidity outdoors. Front desk, concierge and housekeeping staff were friendly and helpful. For two veteran business travellers who have seen a lot of hotels over 20 years, we are not exaggerating when we rate this hotel with 5 stars - as good as any top hotel we've stayed in.

A wonderful new hotel near the airport. If you are in Yangon for a while and want to explore, it's probably not the best location because it's a bit far from the main attractions, but if you are coming/going from the airport or highway bus station it's a great hotel. It's new and the staff are really amazing. It looks like maybe they are doing some formal training program or something. They really try their best, so please be patient with them if things aren't perfect. As mentioned in other posts, there is a small swimming pool - a rarity in Myanmar, and especially at non 5-star and even most 4-star hotels. There is also a spa and small fitness center on site and the food at the restaurant was decent. Breakfast has good variety for a small hotel. It is down a small alley off the main road so there isn't a ton to do, especially within walking distance. But Grab taxi works great in Myanmar and the staff are so helpful if you want to get a taxi the old fashioned way.

This is one of my top choices of hotels in Yangon. It's almost to the standard of the main top hotels like Traders and the Park Royal but much cheaper - although it' still a bit on the pricey side. It is very comfortable and the staff are very friendly - a great hotel for both business and pleasure!

First, don't get confuse. There are 2 Clovers in Yangon. 1st is Clover Hotel and 2nd is Clover Suites. Both are located in Bahan area. Good Things about Clover Suites: 1. It is NEW! 2. There's a roof top pool and a gym which has a nice view of Schwedagon Pagoda. 3. Cheap and good food in restaurant located at level 5 (suitable for Asians - around 1,500 to 3,500 kyat o...

There's a roof top pool and a gym which has a nice view of Schwedagon Pagoda. 3. Cheap and good food in restaurant located at level 5 (suitable for Asians - around 1,500 to 3,500 kyat or $1-$3 USD). They're selling local beer (Myanmar Beer) and Tiger Beer for only 2,500 Kyat (around $2 USD). They have wine as well for 18,000 kyat (around $14 USD per bottle) 4. Clean and Huge Rooms. Complimentary items are water bottle, 3in1 coffee, disposable toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, body foam wash and a hair cap. Rooms have safe box, blower, water heater and 2 type of shower but no tub. They're using Plug Type G power sockets. TV channel also has a lot to choose from. 5. Staffs can speak English! You just have to consider and understand their accent. They are all very friendly as well and they will try their best to communicate. 6. Around 15 mins walk to Schwedagon Pagoda. 7. Great Wifi service. It was fast! Bad Things about Clover Suites: 1. Doors of the hotel are not anti-sound proof so you can hear the loud noises from the hallway which is quiet annoying. 2. There no other restaurants or any conviniece store nearby. You have to walk around 15 mins just to reach the nearest store.

I tried several hotels in Yangon but at the end always come back to this one. The hotel is not too far from airport but not in the city center. Anyway you will always take Grab or taxi, so it wasn't an issue for me. The room is clean, and like most hotels in Myanmar, the staff are super kind and helpful.

Stayed here one night before an early morning flight out of Yangon International. It's very close to the airport (which is why we chose it) so I wouldn't recommend if you want to be in and around Yangon city. Secluded and quiet (when they're not doing construction) with pool, gym, and spa. Really helpful and friendly staff. Dining was great. Buffet breakfast was good....

Wifi not so amazing, but we generally found wifi to be pretty poor over most of Myanmar. Clean large rooms with high ceilings, modern bathrooms.

Friendly and helpful staff 6. Breakfast spread was reasonable by Yangon standard The bad 1. At USD140 a night, you could get far better hotel in other cities like Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur but to be fair, this is Yangon 2. The fried vermicelli I had for dinner was very salty 3. Intermittent wifi connectivity 4. Access to hotel is via a long driveway so hailing a cab will need the help of the concierge 5. Not close to any shops in the neighbourhood although the Ocean supermarket is a short taxi ride away The ugly 1. The shower area gets flooded quite easily when taking a shower

Don't expect any fancy breakfast. They need to work on the water pressure a bit, although the hot water comes pretty fast. I'll be talking to them about installing shower curtains to prevent water from splashing out onto the bathroom floor while showering in the bath tub. This is the only hotel amongst all the ones I have put up in, in Myanmar, where you don't have to deal with a wet bathroom floor after you've taken a shower. Believe me, it's a design problem that really needs to be fixed! The shower/bath area needs to be isolated in some way from the toilet bowl area!!! Enough said!!!

Thoroughly enjoyed by 2 night stay & will definitely come back.

This was a little cocoon of quiet, greenery and relaxation in the middle of bustling Yangon. The hotel is small and is OOZING character, unlike most of the other large chain, modern hotels in Yangon. The staff were lovely (no surprise as this was commonplace throughout Myanmar) and the hotel was full of lots of interesting furniture, traditional laquerware from Bagan, weavings from Chin state and just overall had a very eclectic and homely vibe. The pool was such respite after a day wandering temples. We ate lunch and dinner at the Savoy, both times in the bistro and had the best food we had in our two week trip. The beetroot and feta salad was absolutely delicious, with a truffle dressing for added decadence! The only issue we had was with a room. We stayed 2 nights and everything was fine, I think that was room 307. Then we stayed another night before we went home (room 203) and the room smelt damp and musty, the AC did not work properly and the shower pressure was really bad.

a stunningly restored taste of colonial rangoon, the strand offers old world charm *and* world-class service. we had read complaints that the operation did not live up to the potential and history of the property, that rooms were tired, that staff were so-so, etc. we found none of this to be true: the strand is surely on the list of the top historic luxury hotels in the world. our room was nearly the size of our new york city apartment, with high ceilings, dark-wood floors and a huge bathroom that retains some historic fixtures but has clearly been recently renovated. contrary to what we read in lonely planet, there were both a flat-screen television and fast internet access in the room. we were staying on the third floor on the west side of the building, which meant the room was flooded with light in the late afternoon/early evening, as the sun descended. we spent lovely interludes in the room during this time, a wonderful respite from the wonderful chaos of central yangon just outside. another tip: we adored the traditional myanmar dishes during the generous breakfast service, the only time during our trip such dishes were on the menu. others here have complained about the strand's location, that it's in the hurly-burly of city and directly adjacent to traffic and crowds. that's the biggest reason we loved it here! there are leafy districts of yangon and luxury hotels aplenty there, but none where you can walk out of historic opulence and into the busy, teeming, wonderfully alive streets of this fantastic city. and yes, the hotel is expensive, but so are most other hotels in the country (for now, with such a limited supply of them). we felt we got more than our money's worth for the premium we paid here (as opposed to 2- or 3-star hotels charging 4- or 5-star prices in bagan, for example). we could not have enjoyed our two-night stay at the strand more! i look forward to seeing it appear on more world's-best lists as visitors continue to flock to myanmar.

The hotel is located in the middle of a lane and it took our driver quite some time to find the exact location on the first day. The entrance of the lane towards the hotel are lined up with street-food hawkers which makes the lane narrower and driving more challenging. It may be a colorful sight for tourists and foreigners to walk pass the street hawkers, but beware of stepping on the "red sputum" on street. The hotel staff are very friendly and we felt too pampered with their excellent and over-whelming services.

Not only our family, but others who we met there were talking about how great the staff was. For us, they made my daughter's 13th birthday one she will never forget. She felt like a princess. I was a Wyndham member in the States and this was my favorite Wyndham yet! This is now our preferred Yangon hotel!

Traveler impressions of Yangon
Noisy city--tons of honking--with dangerous pedestrian conditions but also vibrant, diverse and home to some interesting historical sites.
Yangon is good to travel for historic building and famous Shwedagaon Pagoda. It is very safe to travel alone or at night time.
Nightlife is not so many places to visit, near Mingalar Market is recommended.
most pleasant Asian city I have visited , the lack of motorbikes and tuk tuks make for much less noise and air pollution, the wide tree lined streets which are kept relatively clean are packed with interesting buildings and street vendors who are quick with a genuine smile
My two days were clearly NOT enough to explore Yangon properly. I think I'll come again - this time with my bicycle.
A developing city. Traffic congestion is high, but drivers are keeping to their lanes. Will be very interesting to Buddhists around the world.
It is a nice place that comes to life at night. If you are looking for a place that is fun to relax than this is the place for you.
More entertainment options for males than females.
Its a good starting point when arriving in the country, but you're better off spending your vacation in the more rural parts of the country.
so much beauty!
The place is different in term of practices and customs, it is necessary for tourists to know the do's and don'ts in their chosen destination.
In the city of Yangon, there are some cultural rules that should be strictly followed, especially when it comes to visiting pagodas and interacting with monks.
The traffic is nightmare. They should improve public transportation, particularly, subway, in order not to deteriorate the beautiful scenary of Yangon.
choose the month of November to visit which is after the rainy season and still quite warm. The traffic is bad so allow for some extra time when travelling around.
...use taxis as they are reasonably priced and very helpful
must bring: slipper, umbrella and translator is a historial city, with full of temple, taxi honks and crows.
women and men with sarong , most of the burma ladies apply tanaka on their face . seldom find children here, as too poor to have kids, and hardly send them to school. Without translator, hard to communicate even call a taxi, as their major language is burmese
The habit of chewing betel nut leaves and spitting all over the place, even the taxi drivers are disgusting.
If you are thinking about holiday, Yangon is not a good idea, but if you are backpackers or motorcycle riders, exploring Myanmar is a must.
I say again is the most dirtier place i come by in the whole of asian country, all is slum area even in the city, very bad impression for tourism.
. Gov need to do more for tourism to come again, but not for me i will not come back.. thank you...
still not developed, and are under strict government control. taxi fare should be negotiated, and all shoops close at 10 pm.
Nothing to do at night. I went there for business. I think lots of business opportunities are there.
Yangoon is a busy town with unique culture. There are unique food, language, and traditional dress. You can find a man wearing traditional outfit with working shirt and slipper everywhere and it does look really beautiful and amazing.
Budget your time wisely. Traffic is Yangon is worst seen. Out of 8 hours of tour 4 spent in traffic.
traffic is pretty during rush hour and certain main access road, transportation and traffic rules could have been better, be careful align from vehicle as you would be getting off on the main road.
Tourist taxis could be rented by the hour or days. Thiis is cheaper and the airport transfer may come as free.
Expect the unexpected. Explore the markets, try the local food. People are typically friendly in Burma and i feel rather safe walking around.
Best to explore the city on foot as you get to see many different things. Traffic is bad around downtown so do not waste your time stuck in the jam. Walking is not that bad.
When I first visit Yangon on this 04Jul 2015, I was just surprised to see this beautiful city. Nice clean & Green city, paved path, structured roads, friendly people, very safe, family friendly city.
I will promote this city in our country.
I came to Yangon without any expectation. So I did not get disappointed. After seeing the pagodas, they make me wanting to come again.
So I am coming again in Oct 2015. Don't compare the food here with Bangkok. Oh, I found out a good Thai restaurant named Cafe 365. It was really good!
Negotiation on cab fare is required whenever you hop on to the cab. The locals are friendly and approachable.
They do smile back when you smile at them.
Yangon has almost all the infrastructure for receiving crowds of tourists. The people are generally nice and friendly.
The city is clean and tidy if compared with other countries in the region. There are not so many motorbikes in the urban area and the traffic condition is not too bad. We can hardly find any beggar and street-sleeper in the city. It is a beautiful and attractive place for tourism.
People are friendly & polite, however will still recommend you to get a tourguide or friend to walk around the city, as there are so many story for the developing country!
Yangon is an old city under transformation. Many colonial buildings badly need touching up to exhibit its old glory.
Buddhist worship places are plentiful throughout the city. Christian churches and Muslim mosques are usually found in the down town areas. The roads badly need expansion to accommodate the influx of vehicles.
I have been visiting Myanmar for over 30 years. In that time I have seen many changes. Yangon itself hasn't changed much, but with new interest in the place there is foreign money and new buildings and renovations happening.
I hope that changes will reflect the diversity and uniqueness of the city and the street scene of eateries and tea shops will be allowed to continue and not get pushed away out of sight.
Yangon offers a couple of attractions. The most amazing one is Shwedagon Pagoda. It is just breathtaking and requires a sufficient time to just go there and chill, watch people and enjoy being there.
Yangon is an interesting city with a lot of variety in terms of the types of people you will meet. If you are interested in five star travel with a lot of tourist attractions to see, you may be disappointed.
Shwedagon was beautiful and fascinating, but full of tourists. If you enjoy touring through markets and side streets and enjoying the local culture, you will not be disappointed. Taking a walking tour or just wandering through is definitely worth the time. If you are headed to Myanmar, at least take a day to experience the city.
Poor infrastructure with too much cars causes a terrible traffic jam, like, Jakarta and Bangkok used to be.
The cost of living and donig business for foreigners is very expensive even with poor infrastructure. The labor cost is getting higher and after joining ASEAN free trade in a few years time, I'm wondering if Yangon can attract the foreign investment or not.
Yangon supposed to be most develop city with MYANMAR. But the road infrastructure and transport system is way backwards with massive jams on most road l travelled.
Taxi charges have no flat fare system and are crazily high. Foreign food outlet is rarely seen and is very expensive compared to similar countries like INDONESIA and THAILAND.
