We had a wonderful time at the hotel, which was just perfect! Recommending the spa especially - it was the best we have ever been to!

NOT WORTH IT: strange service, "basics only" at a high price!!”
Coco De Mer markets itself as a luxury hotel and has the look of it, but get ready to feel the burn for each service and hard lines where service ends. DON'T MAKE THE MISTAKE I DID: STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE! - No service to the Ferry which many people will likely arrive by. - YOU NEED TO RENT A CAR WHEN YOU STAY HERE. Nothing around this place. Not walkable to other locations. - Check out is hard at 10am. Staff may offer you to stay later if you push, but they’ll move you out of your room and put you in a “lounge” that’s really weird- they will want to charge you an additional 50Euro to stay in that weird room. - This is not a swim-able beach location. Shoreline and sea grass are not nice to look at: you'll want to direct your view away from the shore. - No door on the bathroom in our room. Um…modern design I guess? - The biggest reason not to stay here is that there are just better places to stay that will cost 1/4 of the price. I recommend you stay with a small guest house owner!

Great location, friendly staff, expensive food!”
We were there for our honeymoon and enjoyed the stay and the hospitality of the staff. The location is great if you prefer accommodation far from hustle and bustle. All rooms are sea facing and the view is beautiful. We stayed in standard room and had an unobstructed view of the ocean. Staff is friendly and professional. From Praslin jetty to the hotel, we took a taxi for 250 Seychelles Rupees. From the airport, it is about 400. One has to rent a car to get around the hotel and explore the island since the terrain is very curvy and steep at most places. Bikes are a bad idea unless you are super-athletic. Food is on the expensive side and the options for vegetarians are very little. The room was lovely and had a bathtub right inside. The hotel has complimentary shuttle bus to the #1 beach in Africa - Anse Lazio and also free guided nature trail walk. Overall, our stay was great and we enjoyed the calmness and views around the hotel. There are two small private beaches that guests can use to hang around and catch a glimpse of sunset.

        Disastrous! ”
I wouldn't give it a half star! We left in the middle of our stay and didn't complete the rest of our 5 days although money wasn't returned. The service and the hotel are so cheap, the rooms are smelly and full of instincts! The sinks are stuck and the shower as well! The beach is full of grass! So very far away from the city and no nearby super markets (you must rent a car). No special treatment for honeymooners or any kind of gesture! Plus all their problems they charge you for the water (no complimentary water!!!!) and as said you can't get it from anywhere near the hotel.

        Adequate for short stays.”
Proximity to the National Park and Vallee de Mai - although nowhere on Praslin is far away from anything!
Comments are limited to Coco de Mer not Black Parrot - which is ostensibly more upmarket but was not experienced. The Coco de Mer is geared to package holidays (Mostly French and German) more than independent travellers. It lacks any special local character beyond its location next to relatively pristine forest. Conveniently located relatively near the jetty for the Mahe/Victoria etc ferries. Best suited to short stays. The a la carte alternative to the buffet was poor and dramatically over priced - as are most restaurants in Seychelles.

Seems they are not welcome Asian ”
Rooms are very clean n good.food are good. The afternoon tea break was nice
The facilities are very good, very clean n beautiful place. The beach is not really for sunbathe, but there's many fish and there's a small ray. The staff seems not very welcome Asian or Chinese. Some staff in the restaurant never smile to us and when we asked for help, seems they didn't want to. I'm not sure if there were bad experience, but we had bad experience. We felt that we are unwelcome in the hotel. That's is unfair n no reason. But some of them are very helpful, such as the Guy who works in sport centre, and some bellboys.

Room comfortable, Shuttle bus to Anse Lazio and Free Internet
Location was not the best and the beach had lots of seaweed at the time we visited (May-Jun). Establishment that boasts to be 4 star should have options for diners. We were not given much option at all and felt like we had to order from their menu selection (if you can call that a selection) Overpriced food and drinks compared to other resorts on Mahe Island No internet connection in the rooms which means we had to use the internet in the lobby of the hotel. No privacy at all It was ok but certainly not what we would expect from a 4-star hotel

        Nice hotel, need car”
        good service, clean roms,
Had a nice stay at the hotel that in my opinion is a bit overpriced. Nice poolarea, and the price at the restaurant is reasonable compared to other hotels in Seychelles. Rooms are clean byt a little out of date. Hotel is "out of nowhere" so you will need a car, but go ahead and rent one, the roads are so funny to drive! If you want a paradise island, go to La Digue instead

        Seychelles are Magical”
Very friendly staff, beautiful rooms and views, attentive service
While a little off the beaten path for the rest of Praslin, Coco de Mer is easily accessible considering the size of the island. Definitely rent a car - it's the best way to get around and much cheaper and more convenient than cabs or the bus/shuttle. The views are great and the beaches are good too (obviously not the best on the island). The staff is incredible there - they're all so nice and very attentive to your needs and booking restaurants, suggestions and giving advice about the island what activities you're going to do. I only wish it didn't rain so much - because the islands and water are just incredible. Overall Coco de Mer / Black Parrot was incredible - we had such an amazing room at the Black Parrot and it gave us the right privacy and service we were looking for.

        Friendly Staff, Location, Black Parrots
As it was off season the pool restaurant was closed on a couple of evenings, leaving only a very expensive buffet or room service with additional charge - there are are no other restaurants nearby. There were 2 steps down to the seating area approx 0.75m below - as these were next to the bed it was potentially very dangerous

        Epic, romantic, and incredible staff”
bedroom bathtub, incredible food, tranquil surroundings
As a 26 and 32 year old couple we are normally more budget, but wanted to treat ourselves. Great 1st impressions - on arrival we were greeted with mocktails, and our bags taken up to our room. The rooms are fantastic, large and spacious with a bathtub in the bedroom, and a balcony where you can have a morning coffee and be visited by the local birds. The lower level pool gets used by families, but next to the Waterfront spa there is a beautiful tranquil pool - sunset here is fantastic and you can watch fruit bats swooping. There was a balance of families and couples - a great place to go for a romantic break, to relax and also go on adventures. Owen at the front desk might just be the happiest man alive, and super helpful when we wanted to rent bikes and book a day trip to la Digue, answering every question we had. We cycled up the coast to the Black Pearl gallery and giant oyster farm - well worth a visit. The cycle took an hour along a beautiful route. The local Tata buses leave from outside the hotel, but are for the brave - very fast around the hilly roads (you get used to it eventually). The hotel arranges a free bus to Anse Lazio (leaves 9.30am, pick up 1pm), called the most beautiful beach in the Seychelles - it is great with clear waters, good for swimming and wave jumping. The food is delicious, and buffet breakfast includes a huge range of cooked and cold international foods. Highly recommend the buffet dinner on 'Creole' and 'International Taste' night (around £40 for all courses, well worth it). The a la carte restaurant does fantastic octopus curry (the secluded location and no buses after dark means eating at the hotel is the best option – there is a big variety of quality local and international food at reasonable prices). All staff were fantastic - friendly, enthusiastic, always happy to help. The staff and the beautiful surroundings helped make this the best holiday we have ever had, and we are very tempted to return in future.
