The location is the best you can get.. right on the doorstep of Semuc Champey. You're in the middle of the jungle way up in the mountains so you can't expect a 5 star resort. The place was clean and well maintained and that's all you can ask for. Rooms were spacious. There is no hot water and the power is only on from 6pm to 11pm (by generator) and there is no Wi-Fi....

The staff (couple of German guys) was very friendly, the place is just magic and the food/drink prices are fair even they could charge much more due to "monopoly". (ie. you cannot go anywhere else - you're in the jungle and the only way is by the boat). The food was great (fishburger), the sleep in the reed hut amazing, everything clean. Much better (and a lot cheaper)...

The Euro Hostal is in a gated area. Check-in was easy. The hostal is creatively decorated. My bed was very comfortable. I had a wonderful balcony overlooking the city lights. Nice warm shower.
