Visitors in transit may choose one of several accommodation options within a few minutes of the airport. Hotels such as the Radisson Hotel New Delhi are also just 25 minutes away from the bustling City Center.
Named after India’s former Prime Minister, the airport handles more than 23 million passengers each year, and offers a variety of restaurants and shopping experiences. Upon completion in 2010, Indira Gandhi's Terminal 3 will become the world's third largest passenger terminal.
Opening in mid-2010, the Delhi Metro is the most convenient way to reach the City Center from the airport. At any given point in time, passengers do not need to wait for trains longer than 12 minutes at any station, and very soon the whole of New Delhi will be accessible by metro. The airport is also linked to the city by the Delhi Gurgaon Expressway, and prepaid taxis are available to all areas of the city.
