Más sobre Dresden

A city of kings, Dresden is an industrial, government, and cultural center that is more than 800 years old. This German destination draws in millions of travelers each year, especially domestic tourists, but international intrigue is growing as this city serves as a stop between Prague and Berlin. World-renowned landmarks and a fascinating city center are considered the favorites among locals and visitors alike. Reaching the city is made easy with Dresden-Klotzsche Airport welcoming travelers and buses, trams, and train connections leading to the city.

Whether coming in by plane, train, or car, the first stop on most everyone’s itinerary is the historic Old Town. About three quarters of it were destroyed during World War II, but efforts to rebuild have succeeded in bringing back its former glory. Risen like a phoenix from the ashes is the Frauenkirche which was completely destroyed but rebuilt and is now the city’s most popular landmark. An incredible art collection is only one of the many highlights of the Zwinger Palace, and Schloss und Grünes Gewölbe are two museums of immense value. The Elbe Valley offers some beautiful views and is actually the second de-listed UNESCO World Heritage Site after a bridge was constructed through the area. Nonetheless, remarkable views of the Brühl's Terrace and quay can still be enjoyed. A paddle-steamer tour, a visit to the Semper Opera, and a number of festivals and events are but a few more of the delights offered in Dresden.
