Una gran sorpresa- hotel 5 estrellas ”
Excelente!
Great Place for Relaxing and Diving with family”
We are a couple with young children aged 2, and 5, and came to dive and relax by the beach. As our children are so young it's hard to juggle both, but this was not the case during our stay here. The staff was incredibly helpful in arranging a staff member who had experience as a babysitter while we went diving. The kids loved hanging out with her; so it gave us the pleasure to do multiple dives. The rooms were comfortable and spacious; a cot was placed for our younger child and the daybed turned into a comfy bed for our older one. The food at the restaurant was delicious and varied. Highly recommend and would come back!
Great Dive Location”
We visited Cocotinos, as it is only a few hours away from where we reside. The accommodation / staff and service is all great, would recommend to anyone if they are looking for a Dive / Snorkelling location to visit.
Great Boutique Hotel for a relaxing time and Divin”
The resort is 30 Minutes away from the international Airport and 2 hours away from MANADO city . graet to disconect from the rat race / we took the best sea facing room and ir was BIG ,clean and comfartable . - not 5 star luxary but every thing worked and had space. there are no restraunts around the resort . but food was good ( the portions were generous)and the restraunt service was top notich . we were NOT board with eating at the same place for 4 days . Diving was great but we had to push them to take us to spots that were 45 minutes boat ride away ( but this was because other people on the boat had already dived there) - Diving is a little bit expensive compared to other locations in Indonesia ( try to book a package may work out cheeper) - THANKS Cocotinos we will recomend this place and hope we can come back again
Loved this place. I've been to Manado and Lembeh several times for the amazing diving in this special spot. This was my first time staying at Cocotino's. They've various room styles, from a more hostel-like multi-person bungalow to the single room cottages like the one I stayed in. Not luxurious but very clean, quaint, and comfortable. Service was over the top. And the diving, wow...just wow. What a great team, excellent boat, and knowledgeable dive master.
Great Dive Holiday with Cocotinos”
Cocotinos is designed for divers and the staff have been trained like wise. This makes diving so much more comfortable. For example just out from the water, you have shower facilities and a soak tank for your camera on the boat. While you shower they prepare a hot beverage and fetch you a towel. I had a great time at the resort and is really meant for divers. I would highly recommend this place for any of my diving buddies.
Good. It was relaxing.”
It was generally good, apart from a few glitches with service of food. the bid let down and therefore the thing which can really lift this resort is attention to food quality. The cooking was not very good. Everything else is excellent. Management and staff are most welcoming. Dive Center is run very professionally with great dive sites nearby. Relative proximity t0 the airport is also a plus, while distance from other eating options is a minus - but one which can be rectified with a little effort! Good place.
Pros: nice water edge bungalows, friendly staff, good food. Cons: When arrived the gate of the fortified resort was locked with nobody around. Ultimately had to mobilize the friendly locals who after some 20 minutes found a security guard. The room they tried to force upon me (garden room with two single beds) was not what I had reserved a paid for (water edge with one large bed). When I wanted to see the manager there was none available, in person or by phone. This went on for almost an hour and when I decided to leave for the resort next door, the manager was suddenly available and I ultimately got the room I had paid for. A few other things went wrong: no hot water, just tepid; no fresh fruit juices (broken mixer) just canned; nobody answering the in-house phones when I needed something; extremely noisy techno music from next door boom boxes, etc.
Very friendly staff but overpriced ”
To start with the positives; the staff in the resort was very very friendly. Particularly we like to highlight our bartender Af and our dive leader Rein. What was disturbing to us was that just everything was overpriced like the airport shuttle (275k IDR hotel shuttle vs 90k regular taxi), the diving (740k per dive/540k full equipment rental per day - compared to most other dive resorts in Indonesia: 450 to 500k dive/300k equipment) and the cheapest bottle of wine for 950k IDR. Ultimately and after some discussions, we got some discount on the diving but still it left a unpleasant feeling. We understand that hotels have to make money on the services around the stay but this should stay in balance. It felt to us as if the money stood central instead of the quest.
Beautiful quiet oasis”
Very nice place beautiful little resort, remote but a great place to get away beautiful pool, nice spa, great snorkeling, great place for diving, short boat ride to Bunaken. They have a nice restaurant service a little slow bit good. The rooms are very nice , nich porch, very clean and comfortable
Perfect spot for Bunaken dives”
Jut 20 minutes from the airport and 20 minutes form the islands. This is a great spot to stay if you’re planning to dive the Bunaken coral walls.
Third time's not really a charm”
We really love the resort and this is our third visit, but this time we were a bit disappointed by the staff's performance. Since we know the place, we had specially requested a specific room number (#25) for our stay, only to be told at arrival that we were given a different room (with 2 beds... for a couple) and the hotel was fully booked after we requested a different room because the airconditioning was barely working. After 3 hours, we finally managed to get a different room because the hotel was in fact not fully booked and everything was ok after that... Until meal time. Not sure if the kitchen was understaffed or not, I had to wait almost an hour to get a simple steamed fish. And my friends had to wait for me for the next dives, or to finish dinner. I sincerely hope they will improve the service at the reception and kitchen, because I hope to revisit them again one day.
Secluded place but all is well ”
If you sit in the restaurant, facing the sea there is an abandoned cruise ship in sight at 10 o’clock . Very unique and interesting view. Although this is the only resort in the area surrounded by small villages with narrow paved streets, the rooms are very clean, staff are friendly, and peaceful. If you are into doing activities that involve water, you can go diving, snorkeling, and maybe rent a small motor boat for deep sea fishing. Otherwise you are confined within the small town as it is half hour taxi ride from Manado city. Expect to pay the about 200,000 IDR for Uber-like ride or taxi, and wait for the call-out service. Foods can be expensive for lunch and dinner but the free breakfast was amazing and delicious. Overall , it is a nice resort to relax and spend time in , for preferably up to 2-3 nights .
We went to Cocotinos at the start of our holiday to thoroughly chill & relax. We had a beautiful chalet overlooking the bay. The staff were wonderful & a good laugh, making us feel most welcome. The restaurant was good and the free breakfast plentiful. We missed Bintang as they only had Heineken and cocktails weren't really available. But it was all about the atmosphere, large pool overlooking the sea, a variety of birds singing in the beautifully landscaped gardens and being made to feel special. We didn't dive (but had an amazing snorkel at the local reef, a short boat ride away), however the dive centre ran smoothly. It's a shame there isn't interaction with the village, there really is nothing else around. However we left the resort and went for a long walk, meeting lots of kids and families. If you want a good place to dive or just to loose the cares of the world, Cocotinos is the place. We shall return...
Great resort with top notch dive center”
Came here for a diving holiday. While location was isolated the dive center was great and ticked all the boxes. Not such a great location if u r not Into diving. Prices r slightly on the expensive side
Fantastic - We went back ”
Ended up there as our flight landed late in the evening , we chose to go back there at the end of our holiday . Great space by the coastline in the middle of local life , great pool , nice food, large comfortable rooms , we were 4 with the kids . Conveniently located , 20 min away from the airport . Very nice memories !
Great place for diving”
This resort is good for diving to Bunaken. Only about half an hour boat riding. May be the nearest diving resort on mainland to Bunaken. Food is good. Staffs are good especially the diving center. The resort itself has a quite cozy environment inside but since it is right in the middle of a village, sometimes There is some noise outside that can annoy its tranquility.
Fantastic Place at a High Price for Indonesia”
We had a great stay at the Resort. The diving is expensive compared to other places in Indonesia and South East Asia. However, they do have knowledgeable and great diving staff. Their dive prices include all of the prep, portaging and cleaning of your equipment before and after your dives which is nice considering the cost for the dives is 20% to 30% more than other places. They have a great location for access to dive sites and travel was never more than 1 hour to the dive site. The food was great and portions were on the large side. They were appropriately priced for their portion, quality and service. It is unfortunate that there is NOWHERE else to eat nearby. Which, while I am on the subject of location I will mention the resort is situated between a MOSQUE and a CHURCH. This means . . . calls to prayer and gospel music could and does go off from 4:30am until 10pm at night, everyday numerous times throughout the day. The resort is 30 minutes from the airport and about 80K to 120K for a 1 way trip to or from the resort. I as ESPECIALLY displeased with the resort in their offering of a vehicle to the airport which was priced at 280K EVEN WHEN THEY HAD TO PICK UP SOMEONE WHEN WE NEEDED TO BE DROPPED OFF. They wanted to charge the both of us a total of 560K for a 200K trip. Given their HIGH prices for everything and after spedning 20million rupiah on a weeks stay, diving and a tour to the lake for two they still wanted to nickle and dime us for everything. Such a shame, it is a good place too.
The best small resort that caters to divers”
My overall review on this hotel is good. Room is comfortable, clean and generous in giving us gallons size drinking water. Big containers of soap, shampoo also. My experience in resorts that is far from big city is : transportation is expensive because taxi is difficult to get (according to the hotel Blue Bird Taxi which is the best do not pick up their calls, which I doubted actually). So i ended up have to use hotel car and spent Rp.440.000 for 4 hours of use. Food is good because the portion is huge. There is one staff that stood out due to his understanding in giving clients the best service. His name is I believe spelled Helmi, he is from Banjarmasin and his work shift is evening. The rest of the staffs are courteous and friendly but they may need more training in how to serve customers. Overall safety is good. But i notice that the children that live around the resort always shouting, calling the guests offering themselves to be photographed and they ask for things from the guests. Some smaller children even throwing sands just to get the guest attention. Luckily his throw is too weak. This can caused problems to the guests. There was a security guy who shout at the kids from a far. And when ignored by the kids he just went away. The smaller yhe kid the more daring , they even come very close to the restaurant and keep shouting at us. It became so uncomfortable until we decided not to venture to the sea. This is too bad because without the children, we could have a perfect rest in this resort. Since we are not divers I can't say much about how good the diving facility. They look very well equipped. Also noted that they have no beach for sunbathing. You can only sunbathing around their pool but with nice view. Another important thing, they do marvelous job in keeping bugs, mosquitos, spiders away from the guests.
