Clean and tidy room”

No worry for late arrival, they have 24-hour reception and evaluator in the accommodation. Great location; very close to the metro station. It is not far away if you walk to popular tourist places. About 15-20 minutes of walking. The room is small, not recommended if you bring big luggage.

Good location, very close to metro. The rate is a little steep. Room wise is good. We enjoyed our stay. Only wish the lift is at the bottom on the ground floor. There are steps leading to the lift level so pls have a small luggage instead of the 25-28" type..

Great Value”

You can't beat this place if you want great value city centre accommodation. The rooms may be a bit compact but they are well decorated, clean and have en suite bathrooms. This is a great "no frills" place to stay if you want to stay in Lisbon on a budget. There is no breakfast offered but there is a cafe next door which we always use. I've used this place several times now and always recommend it to friends.

Good location”

This guesthouse is near to Metro Station Marquês de Pombal (from the guesthouse door, turn left and walk towards the roundabout, approx 200m). Lisbon has very comprehensive metro system, so get a Viva Viagem card and then travel through all the different regions. Initially, we planned 4 days because I saw some of the places were quite far away. However, when we were there and used the metro, we could cover almost everything in a little more than 2 days (as far as Belem). The guesthouse's reception is on the 1st floor. We flagged down an Uber from the bus station and the Portuguese speaking driver was very helpful. He helped us to locate No 111 (it is just an entrance sandwiched between shops, so you can miss it if you do not know where to look for the lot number). The reception counter is opened 24-7 because whenever I called on the counter, there's someone there. The housekeeping is a little slow, but I'm not sure was it because we didn't hang the sign outside to get the room cleaned. The room is huge and comfy with proper (in fact, above average) bathroom (with bathtub :D). I think I will come back and stay here.

Great location and very clean”

Rooms are clean like the bathrooms. The hotel is very well located at the city center, just at 100 m from Plaça Pombal. There are good restaurants around. You can return at any hour, since there is someone to open you the main door. The only con is that rooms next to the main door get the noise of guests coming in very late.

Good clean place to stay, great location. ”

The place is difficult to find and I walked pass it twice before realizing where it was. However, it is very clean & rooms well air conditioned.. It is a very short metro ride from the airport, &. The buses taking you to Belem runs right outside. For buses elsewhere, their stops are nearby.

Suggested Improvement”

The only aspect that might have helped me more would be if the person on reception had provided more specific directions as to how far it would be to walk to specific places and how specifically to get there. On the whole, however, I was extremely pleased with my room and stay.

Quiet, yet convenient”

Vila Nova is a small Guesthouse conveniently situated close to Marquis de Pombal Metro. It’s away from the bustling tourist centre yet it is possible to stroll there down the Lisbon equivalent of the Champs Élysées, Avenue Libertie. There is a hot water jug and fridge, but no breakfast facilities. However, a good cafe next door and a couple of other patisseries nearby. You need to go downtown for more extensive dining options.

Beware of pickpockets”

The hotel is in part of the banking district, about 20 min walk from the city centre, so not too busy in the evening. Unfortunately one evening, I was pickpocketed and my purse stolen from my backpack as I was entering the hotel door. Two seconds later and I would have been in the hotel so I obviously had been targeted for a while walking back from the city centre.

Comfortable and close to Metro”

My room was very suitable, clean and close to metro. Next door was a place for breakfast and other eating options close by. Double glazing windows kept the street noise low. Limited English TV channels. Recommend to stay.

Excepcional”

Very good location tucked away just off the Pompal roundabout. It was quiet in the hotel although lot's going on outside which you could hear when the windows were open. Room was not large but was big enough and clean, towels were changed everyday. Only slight issue is the lighting in the bathroom which made it difficult when applying make-up, but a small issue. The staff on reception were very helpful and arranged a taxi for us back to the airport. Would also recommend the pasteleria downstairs for breakfast!

Vila Nova Guesthouse is highly recommended to stay for the following reasons : 1. Clean and newly renovated room with coffee making equipment equivalent to a 4 star hotel. 2. Strategically located near to good variety of restaurants, metro station and No 1 pick up point of the Hop On Hop Off bus. 3. Quiet and spacious room with good reception support for any information and airport shuttle service.

Nice, small guesthouse close to the center”

Good location althought not very downtown. Metro few steps away as well as some cafes and two supermarkets. Guesthouse is located on 4th floor, reception on 1st floor. Room nice, comfy bed, big bathroom. Wifi worked good. We have found a lot of dust on corners and behind boards so it was only a basic cleaning. Would be nice to have at least one towel hanger in a bathroom. Overall good.

The staff and the room were both great! The location is great too, only a block away from Avenida de la Libertad and the Marqués de Pombal roundabout. Amazing place!
