Nice place to stay in Bournemouth”
The managers are doing a lot to make this hotel very pleasant. The swimming pool is very nice indeed. Thanks to all the warm and friendly staff.
Hotel was fine, but it wasn’t made clear when I booked and paid in advance that Agoda would be taking about £40 commission immediately and keeping hold of the money I paid for three months before handing it over to the hotel.
Beware of the stairs! Room 91 top of the building level 4. Small room, noisy, steep stairs no lift”
I had room no. 91 on the top floor. There is a lift to get to Level 3 but not for the top level. The staircase was very steep and no proper hand rails. Not suitable for disabled people, elderly or children or with a hernia like I have! Very noisy room for outside traffic and noisy people in the next room kept me awake until 1.am The food situation was poor. Unless you like paying a lot for rather little. Chocolate Sundae on children`s menu tripled in price depending on who happens to serves you. Tip. Avoid top floor to obtain a hopefully better experience. The swimming pool was fine as were some friendly staff. Having travelled a lot worldwide this place did not meet my expected standards for a place like Bournemouth.
Great little find so handy to beach and town! Clean tidy and staff helpful . Would come again...
Lovely clean room. Stayed at hotel in January and room was an absolute bargain. Next time were in Bournemouth this will be where we stay.
In need of some basic maintenance ”
We paid £94 for an “Executive” room on New Year’s eve. The room has a strange configuration one room had a shower and toilet only and in another room a bath and double sink. The room and particularly the bathroom looked like it had been decorated in the 80s, with little or no maintenance since then. Simple maintenance jobs left undone: missing tile grout, drill holes in tiles left un filled, paint pealing on windows, rusty towel rail, windows that can’t be closed, bedside lamp not working, various stains on ceilings and walls. The room was reasonably clean, although there was a lingering cigarette smoke smell on the fabrics, and lipstick on a door frame.
West Cliff Hotel”
Very good value for money .
Room was too hot aircondition not working. Staff aprons at breakfast looked dirty and creased (small detail i know but an important 1). Staff however were lovely and attentive. Will return
Rip Off ”
We booked an Executive room - on arrival given a family room (if this is executive would hate to see standard) then asked if we would require breakfast - accepted and were given an upgrade voucher (took this to be F.O.C.) on checking out charged £40 for breakfasts . Also do not pay £ 10 per day parking lots of free parking around hotel.
To experience for one night ”
I didn’t got the room what I’ve paid for, the room was small and funny shape the shower wasn’t working, so we couldn’t have shower at all it was to expensive what I’ve paid I’m very dispontment with the hotel service we had to pay extra for the swimming pool
The hotel room we stayed in was very hot. There is no AC and could not open one window as it was locked shut with a broken handle. Otherwise the breakfast was excellent and the location was excellent as well. Friendly staff.
Staff were lovely and so helpful when we lost our key! Was only here for 24hrs but great locaion andso handy they had on site parking
Very disappointed ”
This hotel was very disappointing for us, it seems the new management care more about the facilities then the what the guests actually come for, which is a good nights sleep. Our room was like an oven and given a fan which was as much use as a chocolate tea pot, no cold water from tap or shower, kettle didn't work and asked a member of staff and was useless. Was told the food in the restaurant was horrible so went out to eat. Only pro was one member of staff on the bar that was friendly and helpful and the breakfast was ok.
Door cards didn’t work. Specific phone conversation arrangements made at booking not on system.”
On booking I telephoned to confirm a room with an extra bed for teenager. This was not on the system after having been told it was.
Poor greeting and noisy room”
We were left waiting by a young receptionist and then with no apology or question about what we wanted were told that we could not check in until 3pm! Generally the reception staff were unprofessional enjoying each other and not very interested in clients. The room was ok but noisy from the guests in adjoining rooms.
There was building work going on directly above my room 202 which meant at 830am there was heavy banging and truck noises reversing. Advise to ask about any building work and to be as far away as possible! other than that the stay was amazing 😊
excellent hotel but just a little too far to enjoy bournemouth centre without using taxis or car - great staff nice room good spa facilities (but v busy at weekends) - annoyed it didn't mention £10 a day parking unless you stay for 4nights -(we did so didn't pay but this wasn't explained at first) bar shuts at 11pm -would have liked later bar for a nightcap returning - on Friday we just squeezed a drink in and around 5 people came in after us and were left disappointed but generally a really nice hotel great staff and worth a visit - v close to the Chine beach
Por encima de la media”
My friend booked another room same day when I booked and got very cheaper than me. Nearly half price
Considering the price, this hotel does not live up to it's expectations. ”
Considering the price, this hotel does not live up to it's expectations. 1)I was totally unable to access internet from my room at all. Was told that it must be my computer; I have two. neither worked for internet. on my onward travels in Uk I stayed at two other hotels - Aberdeen and London - and did not experience this problem; internet worked perfectly. 2) Television reception was "grim" on all channels' flickering picture and interrupted sound. Was told by the technician who came to fix it (after an hour) that it was due to an electrical storm the previous night - true, there was a lot of lightning around. However, the technician only partially fixed the problem on a few channels before it slid back to the way it had been. Technician seemed more concerned with impressing on me that he could not speak English; must have told me half a dozen times!! Thoroughly frustrating stay. I will definitely never stay at any Hallmark hotel ever again.
Spa paying customers took precedence over hotel guests pool advertised as large but when one third sectioned off for private lessons daily very cramped and unable to use daily for 1 hourfor Aquarobic class additional fee for car park not in booking info
