Love the decor and attention to detail! The rooms and toilets were clean, comfortable and welcoming. The team was wonderful! At night, i could hear the traffic light beeping when the streets are quiet and that can be annoying (but get some earplugs and you're set!) Will rebook when I'm back in Nelson!

Only 2 parking lots”
Shower is awful. Out of 4 cubicles, 1 is out of order, 2 water is dripping small, only 1 cubicle with a rain-shower which is acceptable. Everyone will wait and queue for that cubicle. Only 2 parking lots which is free. The parking space at roadside is only free during night time and weekends. Bed is comfortable and room is big and clean.

It’s a nice place to stay. Very clean and tidy. The location is pretty good, right across from the bus station. They have a bit variety for the breakfast, waffle, cereal and bread, hot drinks and juice. All in all it’s a good place that I’ll stay again!

Stylish and efficient hostel”
We enjoyed staying there! They had the best internet speed so far! The room and lounge areas were nicely decorated and had all facilities. The only little note - you ll have to pull your suitcase to the first floor yourself since there is no elevator or ramp.

Very clean & great location. Done the job for my 1 night stay. Unable to even make a hot drink or snack in kitchen after 10 pm... Which is crazy....! I had a early morning bus and couldn't even get some toast or a cup of tea even though breakfast was included in my price..... I asked the receptionist but was told no, breakfast starts at 8....i was leaving at 7.

You get what you pay for. It was fine to sleep in but the bathroom didn’t seem clean. The shower was oddly up on a platform and dark. I didn’t shower there because it made me uncomfortable. There is no temperature control other than a small window, which some might not want to leave open at night.

Good budget hostel ”
Great value for money, good location, and the kitchen facilities and the space is quite nice. It’s pretty quiet too. But it is a hostel so as long as your expectations are adjusted to that, it’s fab.

Not bad for a couple of nights”
Had trouble checking in, notice on the door asking to call to check in. Rang around 5 times and waited 15 minutes. Finally found a doorbell where a girl came instantly and was rather rude to us. When we left she went straight onto the phone chatting to a friend. Room was good for the price and facilities in the hostel were modern however the shower took 5-10 mins to warm up and was a huge step off the floor. I’m rather small so had to get my husband to help me down so I didn’t slip. Is good for 1/2 nights max. Great location and first come first serve parking.

Mis-Representation”
Paid extra for a room with en-suite, only to find the showers don't run hot water, well according to staff not for 5 mins at least. Ran the shower for 5 mins, still no hot water and the pressure was poor. Not told before confirming booking or when speaking to staff before checking in. Old building it may be, but that's no excuse for not maintaining & upgrading when necessary. The place generally is in a poor state of maintenance, especially out the back. Asked for a partial refund, but none forthcoming, was offered a 50% discount on next stay - noping right out of that. Not expecting a 5-star hotel, just a basic place that functions as it should, not stairs that need maintenence, a ranchslider to the room that doesn't work properly, and after a 6hr drive, a shower that works!

Had a nice stay, courtyard needs a good tidy up/makeover, needs tlc and new garden plants/trees + new furniture. Female in reception could smile and be alot more friendly and 'into her job'. Kitchen was great with brilliant cooking gear etc, dining area was awesome and great meeting others, strange to see guys sleeping on couch in TV room and dining room at 6.30am?
