Interesting place to stay”
Would only recommend staying here for one night so v to it being wacky place to say you've stayed at. due to the rooms being part of whole complex that people come and see its very noisy during the hours it's open 0800-1900 for tourists. people bang on the window glass or try to open the video closed and locked house doors. If you stay here I only recommend one night. Very clean and staff friendly but don't speak much English if you need help. I had to write on paper for getting help get a taxi to the airport.
People literally try to walk in and open your door constantly to look inside the room. Once we forgot to lock the door, and a tourist just walked inside our room and stared at us until we told her to get out. The bed is hard and uncomfortable, there is a lack of power outlets, no strong wifi. The saving grace is that some of the staff were very kind and helpful. The Crazy House may be a fun place to visit, not to stay.
the staff are what makes this place. it's not too expensive so I guess you get what you pay for but it's essential for then to provide a way of getting more privacy when you're in your room in the day. also areas are quite shabby and could do with and update. mattress not particularly comfortable. it is really cool but only stay one night
For the location have a bit far walk to Dalat city. They will close the light after 8pm the environment will very dark. But they have good service when we reach over there at 5am, they still open the door for us & give us stay at lounge take a rest. That time the temperature only 13•c.
Unique accomodation experience”
The honeymoon room is smaller than expected. There are 2 floors in the apartment and the bedroom is located on the 2nd floor. The stairs (bomboo-like) are very steep so it’s difficult to carry the luggage to the bedroom (and the bedroom don’t have much space for putting luggage). The furniture is a bit old. The advantage of living here is that you can freely take photos inside the room while other visitors can’t. Recommended for those who are looking for unique accomodation experience. Not recommended for people with diabilities and expecting (5-star) hotel facilities.
A very unique stay, excellent service, and highlight of our trip”
Crazy House is a must see, and if you can, a must stay. It is such a unique place and it was a real highlight of our trip. We loved exploring the complex over the bridges and tree tops. it was like being a child again. We stayed in the Eagle room and it was just superb. There were only a couple of minor things that could be improved in the room. The bathroom didn't have a fan, and we couldn't open the windows without tourists peering in. The light was very dim in the room, and the shower head could not be used from the wall without spraying all over the room, so it had to be hand held. The other thing to be aware of if you are staying overnight is that the complex opens for tourists quite early (around 8.30). Music will be played over the loudspeaker from that time right through to the evening when it closes. Even though your room will be locked and unavailable for viewing during your stay, tourists will constantly try to knock on the door and try to open it.
finally stayed in this beautiful place”
always wanted to try to stay in this place everytime i visit dalat. service is indeed awesome. and staffs have excellent english too! will definitely go back to stay here if there's a chance!
very nice place to stay”
crowdy on day time but really calm on nightime
Rooms are really crazy and exciting”
Should stay in Dalat and very interesting. Room are very clean and comfy bed is my favorite. Love this hotel and helpful staff. Thanks Crazy House.
Beautiful house but noise in morning ”
The staff of The Crazy House is nice and speak good English. The house is spectacular to visit around, the Kangaroo room I live is clean and decorative, but a bit smell of the bed. However, it’s too noise and annoying in the morning start from 8am as outside visitors come visit, they’ve tried to knock and open my door. The Crazy House should have a memo on the door telling people like “Do Not Disturb” or something to avoid the annoyance for Occupant.
Bad service ”
I booked with Agoda about my room to be decorated for my wife birthday and it's been agreed there will be payment to be charged. I was so disappointed with the service that my room was not decorated as agreed. I would not want to come back to the hotel again.
Funland, but could be better”
If only one could see better online description of room choice. Eagle is best, but expensive. Bear, Tiger, Gourd, Kangaroo, others are nice too. I do not recommend Ant, it is below ground level. I would not stay in Honeymoon, it is cramped with wasted space, and you have to climb to upper level, to bed. The good ones, Like Eagle, also have more privacy from touring visitors. There is ongoing construction and additions, while some areas require repair. As time goes on, this could be a better accomodation.
The most interesting place I’ve ever stayed in! Highly recommend for all types of travellers! We booked the bamboo room, the only thing I’d like to call out is that it’s pretty small for 2 people. Barely had enough room to lay out the luggages on the floor.
Not worth the price”
Perhaps it's our fault for not thinking thoroughly before booking this place. We wanna stay at the gourd room coz we read somewhere that we can see through the glass ceiling from our bed and watch the sky/moon/stars.. well we can see nth but dirts on the glass and the reflection of ourselves. The balcony is great though (except the balcony light is not working and someone threw a cigarette box in the bush but not being clean up). We r on the highest floor so the night scenery of dalat city from our room is perfect. An experience in such weird, bizarre room is great too.. We love the bathtub made of stones and those wooden furniture. Checking out was quite frustrating coz all tourists started to flood in and blocking the narrow stairways.. we have to carry our heavy luggage ourselves all the way down to the reception. Hmmm... a good place to visit but with the room price we can actually get a better room elsewhere in dalat.
Crazy House, you have to try it out for just one night”
This place is as more of a tourist attraction than it is a hotel, but it does work very well for a place to stay. Just know you are going to have to put up with tourist walking all over the property during the day so this isn't a place you want to stay and hang out for a week unless you like that sort of thing. They let you close and lock your door/windows while you are there or away so people can't see in, but undoubtedly people will knock or try to peer through the curtains. If you wake up before 8am, get up and walk through the entire property without tourists. The house is mind blowing, crazy and just plain out of this world. With no one to get in the way of your pictures or views it will be well worth it to skip on the extra sleep. It would be ideal if they only opened the doors to the public from 11-3, but it is a business and they need to make money so I can't complain and it's NO secret that tourists will come to see the place so don't write a review slamming the place about that. It's a part of the experience. For my travel stuff, check out my blog: www.noregretstraveler.com
Crazy building but had a lot of fun”
We had plan to visit crazy house, in the end we chose to "stay" in Crazy House instead of "visit". The best part is you can enjoy sunrise on the super narrow rooftop path. Truly beautiful and exciting!
Very comfortable mattress!”
All the reviews are true. People come up banging on your door in the morning, the staff are not particularly customer oriented. However, the actual rooms are really really cool. The termite room has this lovely little sitting area and is right next to the garden, and it has the most comfortable memory foam mattress. It's really cool to explore the crazy house at night, and it's even better to wake up in the morning and already be there so you can take all the pictures you want etc. I would recommend it, but I would ALSO recommend that the owners start the tours at TEN not EIGHT. I had a woman speaking Russian into a microphone right outside my window at 8 AM! Not cool to even allow that when you run a hotel.
Experience of a lifetime”
We stayed in the pheasant room and were totally blown away by the design. Felt like we had slipped into a world of goblins and fairies. We arrived late due to a major change in our flight time... Contacted both the hotel & requested agoda to inform them of our late arrival... They were waiting for us and even helped us set up a fire in the fireplace in our room. We fell asleep in our amazingly comfortable upstairs bed like little excited gremlins. Bathroom was also great. Explored the rest of the crazy house and beautiful Da Lat the next day and loved coming home to our little tree house. The staff were really helpful in arranging the bus to pick us up early in the morning for Mui Ne. Breakfast of rice pancake omelet on the street outside is something not to be missed. . Wonderful experience.
It was so amazing and "crazy" yo stay here. I felt like I was in a fairy tale/ dream. It was peaceful, the staff were great and helpful, close to the markets, and it's really nice to have the place to yourself early in the am and in the pm when there are no tourists around. I wish had another day to stay there!
Very Unique Place to visit”
Very interesting and unique place to stay and explore. Staff can speak good English and very friendly. As the place will open to public to visit from 08:30 so may be you can hear people talking or walking outside your room but it doesn't matter if you are ready to get up and go out. Another benefit to stay here is you can explore and walk around the place before and after the public visiting hours so that you won't pump into the other tourists. I took some nice photos and videos with no one around in the morning it's so nice :P
