Un oasis en pleno caos”

El hotel es básico pero funcional. Las habitaciones están limpias, por encima de la media de los hoteles del mismo precio. El personal amabilísimo y siempre dispuestos a resolver dudas con una sonrisa. Es un auténtico oasis en mitad de la caótica Bombay.

Nos quedamos solo una noche, sin embargo al entrar nuestra primera sorpresa fue ver las dos almohadas y camas con rastros de que alguien había estado ahi recostado, se veían sucias y con cabellos les dijimos pero no hicieron nada al respecto. Esperábamos una habitación bonita sin embargo estaba en reparación el techo a causa de una gotera así que los acabados en el techo estaban horribles. El hotel es parte de un edificio antiguo así que comparte escaleras con una vecindad, al salir a desayunar nos topamos con una enorme rata.

aparte de que no tenian bien la reserva eramos tres personas y solo constaba una, nos han cambiado a otro aun peor en el que he tenido que dormir en una colchoneta y en el suelo. esto es de verguenza

Elphinstone hotel is much better than most **** hotels ! Don't hesitate if you search for a clean, well located, nicely managed hotel. Just to warn : most rooms have no windows. If you want one, ask for it while booking.

Really very nice”

Beautiful historical building on the outside converted inside to very comfortable, clean rooms with good hot water and a/c. Lovely staff, very helpful and a delicious breakfast. We highly recommend. In fact, we are returning there in a fortnight.

Excellent property”

The staff couldn’t be more accommodating. I was traveling with a bicycle ant they stored it in a locked office, no problem. Breakfast was good western or Indian. The rooms were cleaned daily with a hot water kettle in the room. I would recommend this property, and would stay here again

Hotel entrance is too small, situated on upstair. Hotel served us a welcome drink and some snack while waiting for the room. Room is small but very clean and value for money with a basic breakfast and facilities. We enjoyed during our stay in this hotel.

BEST VALUE HOTEL”

Elphinstone is a little oasis in the chaos of Mumbai. It looks nothing from the outside but what a relief to enter! Hospitable & attentive staff. Very clean & comfortable. Great location. All round excellent value. Happy to return.

A bit far from places”

The hotel is located at the crossroads east to a train station. The area is safe but looked a bit down. Taxi to the colonial districts usually costs INR100-200. There are a few diners downstairs, but sanitation looks poor. A waiter wiped a dirt off the spoon with his thumb when he was serving food. Breakfast at the hotel was OK. The room was small but adequate. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The WiFi sucked and got fixed slowly.

Very nice stay”

I had a very nice three-day stay at this hotel. The staff were very nice and friendly. They always asked how my day went (and were generally curious), went out of their way to help me order a pizza when I was too lazy to go out one night, helped me without complaint when I locked myself out of my room, and helped me get a taxi to the train station. The room was very clean and the bathroom was very nice with an actual divider between the shower and the toilet! The TV also had many channels with English movies and music. The location was convenient becasue it is within walking distance to CST station (about 20 minutes) and even to the Gateway of India/Price of Wales Museum area (about 35~40 minutes?). The price was also great value -- for Mumbai. I would absolutely recommend a stay here!

I cannot fault the service from the staff at Elphinstone. It was the perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city streets. If you are looking for a comfortable sleep in a relaxing environment (without paying for luxury) then this is a great place to stay. Very happy.

verrrrrry supporting crew! ”

My credit cords got locked and nobody knows why or how to unlock them. The hotel crew was very helpful and attending to help me with this problem. Thanks guys. Without them I would have had to walk 4 hours to the airport.

A charming gem among the chaos.”

Despite a suspicious looking avatar and the very busy area, the hotel was a charming, pleasant surprise. With an old world charm, the staff were very warm, kind and helpful, and made sure that my stay was as comfortable as possible. My room was small (according to my budget) but it was clean and modern. Quite a find in a busy part of town! The food is limited but cheap. However, one has the option of ordering from nearby restaurants that will deliver to your room. Worked very well!

Clean and Perfect”

Elphinstone Hotel was a great hide away from the streets of Mumbai. Our superior room was excellent with loads of space, a fridge and tea making facilities. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Complimentary breakfast was also provided. This is one of the cleanest hotels in we have ever stayed in on our many trips to India.

Nice place in Mumbai”

The Elphinstone-Hotel is the perfect stay in bustling Mumbai if you don't want to spend a fortune. It is a neat place, not too far away from the sights of Colaba, and also close to Victora Station and Crawford Market. The rooms are small but clean and comfortable, 24h hot water and there is a complimentary continantal breakfast. The hotel-staff is extremely nice and helpful.

Unpleasant incident”

A nice hotel overall with friendly staff. Just that an incident marred the stay. Staff needed to fix some water tank issue which happen to be accessible via my room window which i have no prob with it though it took like 40min at 1am. What is unacceptable is that they entered the room wearing shoes and even walked into the bathroom leaving a trail of mess and ultimately left without even bothering to clean up. And the water issue wasnt even fixed by the time i check out the next day despite the hotel staff reassuring that water supplies will resume within 15min multiple times.
