Exceeded expectations ”
I stayed for one night on my way to get my flight at Gatwick. Everything was very good. Good size room, very clean in every respect. Tea and coffee making facilities. Comfortable bed. Pleasant staff. Good bar. Didn't try the restaurant. Definitely value for money at 40 pounds. 10am check out. I would recommend this hotel.

I would not recommend this "hotel" because I was charged twice on my credit card and am now having the hassle of getting a refund. The hotel was to blame because they told me room wasn't paid for when in fact Agoda had taken the money already. I wanted a cheap room for one night and got a lodge room , booked before reading the awful reviews. I was dreading it , the noise , filth , rude staff etc. However expecting the worst it was a nice surprise to get a quiet room , clean and cosy and some of the staff do know what they are doing ( not the one who double charged me obviously !). The "lodge" is akin to a hostel mostly occupied by male contract workers , situated behind the hotel proper past the dustbins . parking ok down there. The fire doors on every door are severe and so very noisy but luckily for me I stayed on a Saturday night so the usual 4-5 am noise when workers departing was absent. Mattress was not supportive but slept on my side to avoid back problems. Water hot.

Minimal effort with a food buffet for evening meal and breakfast. barely warm and most unappetising. absolute minimum effort as if they didn't care, stirred the food myself to make it look better!

Close to Gatwick air port, great place to be if you landed late or having an early flight. Bewer that the WiFi internet connection is free only in the lobby, and for 20 minutes only in the rooms...

Value for money”
Reachable 24 hours per day by bus 100 from Gatwick Airport and 1 hour by train from three Bridges station in Crawley, this hotel was handy. Clean rooms , old fashioned decor has a bar and friendly helpful staff. I would stay here again if heading to or leaving Gatwick.

Adequate but convenient”
The Europa Gatwick Hotel was noisy and overcrowded. The one night I stayed there, they were hosting a wedding and 3 busloads of tourists. I was given a room in the overflow building, and while it was clean, it was cold (could not adjust the room temperature) and out of range for the WiFi service. So, the only option was to go back into the main building lobby. WiFi was available there, but the noise of the crowd was so bad it was impossible to make a phone call to arrange for a taxi. And the only food and beverage service at lunchtime was from the bar. Fortunately, the bartender directed me to a nearby pub, where I was able to enjoy a full mean in a quiet atmosphere.

Tired hotel”
There was only one receptionist/ night manager on duty when we arrived. We waited 20 minutes to be seen, a hotel this close to the airport should be used to late check ins. When we got to our room, our television didn’t work. No point queuing up to speak to reception for an other 20 mins. The room itself is very tired. The bath was rusty and didn’t look clean enough to use. We left early in the morning and there was no one at reception to check us out. We chose this hotel due to the proximity to the airport car park we were using. I wouldn’t stay here again.

Zero direction or friendliness at front desk ”
First thing the lady says with a grim look on her face is “it’s going to be a while” What kind of greeting is that? Second I prebooked with confirmation paperwork in my hand but the gal kept repeating I only booked one room when it clearly showed otherwise on my confirmation screen. Once that was resolved she gave us 2 key cards and off we go (didn’t say or point where to go). It’s a big place so we wondered around for 20+ min trying to find our room. When we asked another colleague of hers to show us the way and brought up her lack of customer service to the blonde gentleman didn’t say anything. That’s not a way to deal with a complaint! The room was fine but the heating didn’t work so the night was very cold! Quick tip, if you’re going to put the face of the company to represent you with the first interaction, it shouldn’t be the young long haired brunette.

Looks like its about to be closed down! Cars parked everywhere , in a very bad state of repairs. Staff at reception just rude tried to check in just before 2pm, forget the discount rate that should be the full rate !

Musky smell despite windows being kept open. Mouldy widows and air on in the bathroom, stained carpets, scruffy old furniture and a small double bed. No night lights and wifi in the room. Impossible to reach the reception using the internal phone . When tried to call from my mobile was advised that calls were charged at 13p per minute . No washing gel in the dispenser ( someone topped up with water). The hotel grounds are neglected with garbage laying around. Overall the hotel needs a full refurb. Not worth the money paid.

We stayed in the Lodge. The rooms are small needs a complete refurbishment . Bed looked clean . After sitting in bar/ foyer it was noticeable that the place wasn’t cleaned… thick dust and cobwebs on lamps etc. wouldn’t stay again

Europa Gatwick Hotel. ”
Hotel looked promising from outside. However once inside it all changed. Reception staff not interested it was more important to play with little dogs behind the desk it really didn't look great when staff are holding and stroking pets. Couldn't find our room went back to reception to sent away again telling us to just keep going. Still couldn't find room so security guard took pity on us and walked us to our room. Restaurant had closed by 9.30 told to get a take away but offers of menus or best to order from were not offered. Bar closed at 10.30 so on the hottest day of the year there were no drinks available!!! Hotel very dirty and tired. Room was awful. Net curtains completely creased up, bathroom door wouldn't close Towels damp. Water very slow to drain away in hand sink and bath so having a shower standing in 2/ inches of water. Tea milk and coffee satchets left in a dirty plastic sandwich bag?? almost like previous occupants had left them behind. Would we stay again No definitely not.
