Large well appointed rooms”
Have used this hotel twice, nice friendly welcome, easy check in. Large room, contains everything you need, good sized bathroom, bed was also large, very comfortable. Quiet hotel so sleep not disturbed. Easy check out, what more could you want.
Superb Hotel - exceeded expectation”
We booked the Future Inn as it was only 15 minutes from the ferry port. As our boat was delayed we didn't get to the hotel until 11.30pm. Check in was easy, plenty of parking which is covered by CCTV (you have to log your reg number at reception). The room was beautiful - spacious, very clean and comfortable as was the bathroom. Breakfast the next morning was good and at only £10 per person it is cheaper than most other hotels. We will definitely use this hotel again and it is a definite 5 stars - it totally exceeded our expectations. It was just a shame we couldn't have been there to have a meal in the restaurant - hopefully next time.
Very efficient and helpful reception staff. A lovely room, with lovely furniture and furnishings. A great restaurant with lovely food but all spoiled by the poor quality bed with very poor quality sheets and pillow cases that had either not been ironed or had been previously used. We had a lousy nights sleep Such a shame as this could be a great hotel. HOTEL MANAGER, PLEASE REVIEW YOUR CHOICE OF BED LINNEN AS YOURS ARE NOT HOTEL QUALITY.
Bad, not acceptable ”
Booked for 3 adults in a room, so asked for extra towel, tea mug, tea bags etc. Took 3 hours to deliver despite calling them at least 3 times to remind. This lead us to get late for attending funeral services of a close relatives This was not acceptable
Fantastic hotel , clean and room very spacious , even had a complimentary bottle of Prosecco on ice and a lovely bowl of fruit plus bottles of water . Beds spacious and very comfy . Would definitely stay again
Stayed here for one night due to an early visit to the Uni next morning with my son. We were on a budget so had to share a room andI was expecting something quite basic (Travelodge type) for the money. I was amazed. The room was huge, 2 double beds. Very well presented and clean. Tea and coffee facilities and even bottled water were supplied. Having travelked far we couldnt be bothered to go out so ate in the on site restaurant. Meal lovely, well presented and again good value. All staff we encountered were friendly and efficient. Apparartly the hotel is 11years old which surprised me as it is very well maintained and I assumed it was much newer. Will definately stay again once son starts Uni if we are allowed to visit.
Great hotel building site at present ”
Unfortunately we got woken up in the early hours by road building work . And as the main reason for staying was a good nights sleep we were very angry the management just blamed the council and didn’t seem bothered. The room was fantastic.
Value for money”
Picked this hotel due to it's location near Marion university. Easy to find and we were made aware of the roadworks by the hotel before arrival. Plenty of space in the car park and the booking in process was straight forward. All the amenities were explained and we were directed to the lifts. Rooms were very large, clean and lovely big comfy beds. Room had everything we needed. I would definitely stay here again. Did not use restaurant so cannot comment.
It worked for me and will return”
At short notice needed 2 nights in Plymouth to attend 2 funerals. Needed easy parking with cctv. The current road works in close proximity needs to be factored into travel times but this should soon be finished (hence my score for location, which would have been 5 otherwise). Didn't use facilities but did see signs for fitness. BreAkfast was fairly priced and the hot bar was constantly being monitored and replenished as required. Will stay there again.
Really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The rooms were good and beds were the best I have slept on in a hotel for some time. However if you need anything from reception add an extra 5 minutes as no one was ever around when we were their even on Sunday morning check out.
Don’t bother with the restaurant.”
The hotel itself is very good. The rooms are really spacious. We had two double beds on our room. The bathroom layout is unusual. The door in, when opened, then closes on the toilet area and initially, we thought there was no toilet. The location is in the midddle of a major road construction site and you have to look very closely for the temporary yellow direction signs. The restaurant, however, was a big disappointment. Breakfast was fine but the evening meal was a very poor experience. Service was very slow. Table booked for 8.00pm but food did not arrive until 9.15 and the quality was not very good.
Stayed here for visit to Marjon University, ideally situated for this. Rooms spacious, staff very helpful. Food in restaurant great too. Only issue was at the time of our visit there are major roadworks ear to the hotel so was a bit difficult trying to actually get too it, diversion signs not that clear but it was a dark wet night when we arrived. This was however no fault of the hotel. Would definitely visit again.
Spacious room with large beds”
Free parking at hotel. Friendly welcoming staff, especially in the restaurant. Room was spacious with canadian double beds. Room does need a safe & fridge for guests to store medication, although you can leave medication in fridge at front desk. Breakfast buffet had a good selection to choose from. Dinner menu was varied with reasonable prices & food quality was always excellent. Staff were very attentive. Laundry available for guests to use for £2 per load. Roadworks at present are annoying & causing detour to get to hotel.but advised they should be finished soon. Overall a really good hotel which I would stay at again!
A very enjoyable stay”
I had a previous good experience of this hotel and it was even better this time. So good in fact that I kept thinking about my dinner in the restaurant on my drive back towards London.....beats Brasserie Blanc by miles !
There was a serious roadworks going on when we went on the 5th May 2017, and I would like to have been appraised of this when booking, as we had to go around a different way.....not a major problem, but as the signage was poor a Heads-Up is needed!
Very good and well positioned”
Have stayed here before so know the place is good. Only bad point normally is that due to traffic not the easiest of places to get to/from at rush-hour. At the moment, which nobody advised me about, there are major road works going on which makes the traffic issue worse. Lovely room, only complaint is the room was too hot and even though had the thermostat set to 17 there was no cooling. Had to open the window as it was too hot which meant the road noise can through. Not had it this time but I know the breakfast here is superb, but other than that give the restaurant (The Fishbone) a huge miss as food is pricey and poor.
lovely hotel, helpful and friendly staff, would definitely recommend to friends and family ”
The whole stay was a great experience. From checking in after a long journey, the lady on reception was very helpful, to reluctantly leaving we had a brilliant time. The facilities in the hotel were great and the room esoecialky was very spacious and very good value for money. It had everything we could need from iron to hairdryer and even a bath as well as shower which made a nice change to some hotels iv stayed in previously. The bed was extremely comfortable and we had a great 2 night stay.
Lovely and quiet”
There's lots to like here. Plenty of free parking. Easy check-in. Nice big room . Great bathroom with huge mirror and masses hot water and good toiletries. Very comfortable bed. Big TV with lots of channels. But best of all nice and quiet. I'm fed up with staying in hotels where the walls are paper thin and you might as well be in the next room. Not like that here. Wonderful!
I have recommended my friends stay here.”
When I asked for help I was seen to immediately. Everything was clean and tidy, this is the first thing I look at when I enter a hotel room. I used room service was informed that it would be a little while before I received my order. The order was in my room 20mins later. Excellent service. My stay was fantastic. I have recommended my friends to stay here next time they are in Plymouth. They couldn't believe the price charged because they stayed in the Travel Inn and were almost the same price and didn't have breakfast included. I recommend you look at Future Inn if looking for somewhere to stay in Plymouth.
Future is here !!”
The Future Inn is a large modern hotel, set on the edge of a business park on the outskirts of Plymouth. I arrived at around 1pm on a wet saturday, an hour early for check in. Was very pleasantly surprised to be told that they could check me in very shortly. So by 1:15 I was on my way up to my room. I was struck by the overall cleanliness of the place. The room was huge. Two standard size double beds, TV, ensuite. I've stayed in 3star hotels in Europe that have not been as well equipped. Modern furnishings. The cleanliness thing was accentuated by the fact that the bed linen was white. Very white. Despite being very close to Plymouth airport and the main road (A386) the room was quiet. So in theory there should be no problem in sleeping. The bed was extremely comfortable and I had no problem in getting a good night's kip. Breakfast is served in the restaurant and is the usual buffet affair. Nothing to get overexcited about, adequate with a reasonable choice. If I had a minor moan, some of the cooked items could have been warmer. The restaurant itself is again modern furnishings with clean lines. Staff were young, friendly and professional in approach. The hotel is very good for families with young children. I noticed at least three in the restaurant with infants in high chairs. Being away from the city centre means that it is quieter. If you want nightlife, you have to get a taxi or drive the 4-5 miles down to Union Street. The hotel also has a large car park that is free for guests. I paid £58 for a one night stay with breakfast. I reckon this was excellent value for money.
