Absolutamente recomendable en todos los sentidos. A 2 minutos de la playa, en una zona tranquila. La piscina es el mejor lugar en el que descansar y relajarse. Volveremos.

Estuvimos 2 días en este hotel y quedamos encantados. Esta prácticamente en la playa pero sin el ruido de los bares. Recomendamos que alquileis una moto y visiteis los pueblos cercanos.

Warm owner ja beautiful place”

Handagedara resort was so beautiful that I thought that I never wanna leave it! Places owner and staff (family) was so kind, helpfull and warm that I have never before met anything like that! They organize kindly everything we asked: daytrip to Udawalawe, whale watching tour and when we had to go, they helped us on our trip from Mirissa to Katamnayke. Theres no bad word about Handagedara.

Staff were absolutely amazing - thank you especially to Priyanga! I came for one night, stayed for 3, so that kind of says it all. Great location - away from the noise of the beach, but a 5 minute walk and you’ll have your toes in the water. Also booked the whale watching tour through the front desk - Raja and the Whales was the best! Definitely recommend.

A Lovely Little Boutique Hotel for a Perfect Getaway”

Handagedare is a lovingly appointed and beautifully maintained little family hotel. The rooms and grounds show a very nice attention to detail and staff are very attentive. It’s very relaxing to sit on the balcony overlooking the pool or to take a refreshing dip. Two beaches are within walking distance; the main beach with it’s many bars and restaurant is less than a five minute walk and the more secluded secret beach can be reached in 20 minutes on foot. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be sure to return. There is some room for improvement, but none of these very minor issues had any negative impact on our stay. These are simply suggestions on how to make an already wonderful experience even better. There is a little bit of a drain smell in the bathroom, which is a common problem in Sri Lanka. A small clay burner or a stick diffuser with essential oil such as lemongrass, cinnamon or sandalwood might help. A small burner with a mosquito coil would also be helpful.

Good hotel. We spend a good holidays in this hotel. Friendly staff. Quiet rooms. Pool with a relaxing zone. Few minutes walk to the beach. Every day room cleaning.

Really caring staff, nice rooms”

The staff were really helpful and went out of their way to help me with laundry (at a cheap price!) And planning my bus routes for my onward journey. The owner even gave me a name card so that i can contact the hotel for help if i needed it anytime during my trip! Would be nice if the breakfast buffet had some other drinks apart from water, tea and coffee. Room seemed new and nice too!

Very welcoming and friendly staff, always helpful and serving with a smile. The breakfasts and the one dinner we had were excellent. The pool was small but just right for cooling off. There could be more sun loungers and better laid out with the large concrete tables in the shade perhaps. The rooms were a good size with large and comfortable beds and a lovely balcony or terrace. The air con was very powerful and maybe a ceiling fan would have been better at night. The bathroom was also very small with the sink in the room. The location was perfect as it wasn't directly on the noisy beach but a 5min walk to it and 10min walk to the harbor. Overall an excellent value for money stay.

Very warm welcome reception staff. The room is ok, bed is comfortable. But toilet is quite ordinary. Location isn’t face to the beach and have to walk about 100-200 m.

A bit expensive, 5min walk to the beach not the nearest but quite ok. Very close from the whale watching so we could sleep more before this activity. Room are newly renovated but we feel it wasn’t finished and totally clean. Toilet and shower are separated by a glass window from the room leaving no intimacy since it’s not covered. Window of the shower can’t be closed due to colonial house so the wet area stay very humid and smelly. Medium size of swimming pool good for kids.

Rooms are pretty ordinary, not worth the price charged for Lot of mosquitoes in the room - even with the repellants on The only advantage you get is its on the opposite lane to mirissa beach, if you want to hit the beach or for an early morning whale watching We had to skip the breakfast as we were there for early morning breakfast, inspite of requesting for a packed breakfast as we had young kids with us, what we got were pineapples banana and a cake - don't think thats right as we had paid for the breakfast and requested for atleast sandwiches to be packed for... For the same facilities, you will get cheaper lower star facilities in the same locality for lower price

Perfect getaway!”

We loved our stay here - beautiful rooms, and service from the lovely family. Buffet breakfast every morning with Sri Lankan and traditional foods as well as normal breakfast items. Very close to the main beach, and a short walk to secret beach/harbour for whale watching. Great facilities would recommend 10/10!
