Mal servicio en un enclave magnífico ”
El sitio es precioso pero el servicio muy poco profesional (aunque amable) y el establecimiento está muy descuidado, especialmente los baños. No nos hicieron la habitación a pesar de pedirlo varias veces y el restaurante es extremadamente lento e impuntual. Las dos excursiones del hotel (especialmente el buceo) caras y malas. No volvería.

No recomendable por el desorbitado de la comida. Jane fue la mejor asistente que podríamos haber tenido; sin embargo los precios increíblemente altos de la carta estropean la experiencia. Casi 400 pesos por un plato de verduras de lata es completamente un timo. Además, el resort está muy aislado, con lo cual no tienes otras opciones para comer, y ellos se aprovechan de ello.

We specifically booked Hof Gorei because of its location. The first time my boyfriend and I were in Samal we stayed at a beach park which was readily accessible by tricycles and a family of 15 decided to celebrate their child’s first birthday in the beach, it was so noisy because of the videoke and the drinking. Hence, I looked for a quiet and peaceful hotel. What I loved about Hof Gorei is the feeling that you’re close to nature when you’re at the area. You could hear crickets and all kinds of birds aside from their pet ducks and parrots. It is very conducive to couple bonding. The beach and the pool are never crowded. The butler thingy is a great touch, our butler was Mark and he was so helpful even in choosing what to eat. We wanted to try the Tuna panga which was priced per 100g and he said that the serving size is usually for “barkadas” and it would be too expensive if it just for two people, our reaction was wow, Mark is very honest and their main intention is to be really helpful to guests and not just take more money. The drink with no corkage is water. All outside food is not allowed. Their food is superb, complete spices. I love their tuna kilawin with sinugba pork, we actually ordered this twice (on 2 different days). Their serving of chicken wings is not like in the metro where you ask the server how many parts and they tell you it’s 6 pieces but it is actually 3 pieces chopped, so I ordered 2 servings because I was informed that it was just 3 pieces, their 3 pieces is authentic, we weren’t able to finish off the wings. Mark said that they can keep it and it could be served for dinner. When dinner came, they even reheated the wings and lasagna for us. The beach is always being cleaned like they have specific times for cleaning everyday, even during low tide. Exceptional stay”
They were very courteous at extending our date of arrival from the original due to storm. The gave us a free upgrade as wife and I were celebrating our anniversary, a beach front cabana which also made our stay hassle free because we had our 2 children with us. The room was spacious, clean with all needed amenities and/or if need be you can ask your personal Butler for help. Ours was Lang Lang. Very cheerful girl who made friends with the children very quickly and ran all our errands. It's one of the unique styles of this resort. Instead of dialing housekeeping or room service, you ring a hand bell to call your Butler or butlerette to help you with your needs. Resorts manager was always there for help and guidance and we also had the honor of meeting and sitting down for a nice chat with the resort's owner. Free boat shuttle back and forth between Sta. Ana port and resort included with breakfast and welcome reception upon arrival, it was all so perfect.

Relaxing place”
We stayed at the resort for 3 nights and we had a great time. My son and I loved the beach as well as the pool. It was so serene and peaceful. As for internet connectivity, some spots in the resort don't have mobile data signal but the signal strength was pretty good at the wharf. I was able to work while we're there. Food has generous serving and reasonably priced. Staff are very accommodating. Special thanks to our butler Christine. She's always available if we need anything. We were upgraded to a beachfront room and it was very comfortable. Overall we had a pleasant stay. We will be back soon. 👍

This is a child friendly resort. One of the best and safe place to stay in especially in this time of pandemic. The facilities and place ang clean and organized. While the staff are friendly and accommodating. Also, the place and the Covid-related protocols itself are recommeded. I highly recommend Hof Gorei! ❤❤

the place has its own boat transfer. you definitely don't need to worry about finding a ride when you reach the shore. staff were all accommodating specially ismael who took care of our needs (e.g advil). you'll love view specially if you'd dine along the shore. food is pricey but presentation and taste is yummy! i suggest you bring in some snacks and bottled water and your own toothbrush. to add the awesome exp we got a free room upgrade! such a neat deal.. it was bec they reserved a queen size bed instead of a twin bed. so lucky! will surely recommend and go back!

I super love this resort. The room is very clean and smells good. They have a garden which I like the most. The staff are friendly and accommodating. The beach is nice perfect for photo ops and I really enjoyed their pool. I'm from manila and i really recommend this resort in Samal Island.

Hof Gorei is located in the southern part of the island. Our stay was relaxing and chill. The food was great but expensive. The room was clean. Not recommended for PWD or old people because you need to take 100+ steps stairs (steep) from the parking area. It was really tough but they will assign you a butler to help you carry your bags. Overall it was a great experience

VERY GOOD PLACE TO STAY”
We had a good escape from the hustle and bustle of the city coz hof gorei made our stay super serene, private and perfect. We stay on their hillside round hut. Its an elevated area. We enjoyed their 200+ steps going to their amenities (pool & beach). But this room is not advisable for older ones😁. They dont accept cards, so better bring cash😁. Or else u’ll have to go to babak w/c is around 30-45 mins. just to withdraw. Thanks Hof Gorei, will definitely recommend this to friends..

The resort is really good if you want to have a quiet and private place.when we stay here i think we are only around 8 guest in the whole resort. The service is good since we have a personal buttler who are always there to assists us. Thanks to ate Lea for making sure that we have an enjoyable stay even just for an overnight. ❤😊 The food is quite pricey but i think its reasonable and good. 😊 Will definitely stay here again if we go to samal again amd willrecommend to our friends and family

The entire resort was dreamy and we got the best view at the resort. We booked the round hut hillside room. It was really a nature inspired resort which I really like since it has a lot of trees and the beach view during our breakfast and dinner is really amazing. Ate Liza who was assign as our butler is very nice and she made us feel like a VIP. Thank you Hof Gorei you made my first trip after pandemic memorable.

we had a great time, our visitors from Manila really enjoyed their stay, us too who are Davao locals. let me break it down: cleanliness: the room is spotless clean. the beach area shows good maintenance, however the pool needs a lil attention. services: 101% great! the butlers are polite and awesome! comfort: we had a great sleep. airconditiong worked fine. our food were served wherever we want 🙂 location : peaceful and quiet. a lil steep and we had to climb a few steps to get to our rooms but we didn't mind the exercise 😘 food : delicious and nice plating, a lil pricey but hey as I mentioned they will serve it no metter where you want.

We were provided with our personal butler and John made sure he attended to our needs. It has a great view especially in the huts uphill; the sea and Mt. Apo greeted us in the morning! We will definitely go back! Just a heads up, part of the road going there isn't paved yet as of writing. I hope boat access is available again when we go back.

This place is great. Beautiful and serene, perfect if your longing for a peaceful beach vacay. The staff (my butler Daryl was great) are friendly and accommodating. Had a chance to meet and had a short chat with the owner and she's cool. I will definitely go back in this place. BTW, the food is great too😊

Our families really enjoyed the accommodation, facilities, activities and food at Hof Gorei Beach Resort. The traditional Filipino food was excellent both in variety and deliciousness. The beach is outstanding and having meals served on the beach under a canopy of palms was memorable. I will really treasure my Hof Gorei memories.
