Very accessible, very near to Garu de Nord”
The room space is enough for couples. The bathroom is also clean, complete with all the amenities (shampoo, soap and tissue). There is also enough cabinet space for storage. (there is even a safety deposit box) Although there was no aircon, the fan provided by the hotel is enough to cool the whole room (besides it was still spring when we visited Paris so airconditioning was not that necessary). Since it is close to Garu de Nord, travelling around is easy pissy. Also, there are groceries nearby where you can buy water and all other items you need. Of course, night time is a bit scary but as long as you don't show off and brag and just be mindful of your belongings then there would be no problem ;) All in all, this a nice hotel to stay at ;) Highly recommended ;)
The hotel is within walking distance to Gard du Nord station (which is mysteriously shown as "Paris Nord" when I took the train from Charles de Gaulle airport). There are many food options near the hotel which was great. The surrounding is quite dodgy with strange people shouting in the middle of the night. Be careful if you stay out too late at night. As for the room, it as seen better days. Having said that, I still had a comfortable stay no less. Breakfast was simple (Cornflakes, bread, coffee and tea). The receptionists that I've encountered were very nice despite reading about poor service standards in Paris.
Great location ”
Overall, excellent experience, except the first day the wifi connection is non existent but improve over the rest of our stay. The great location to the train station allows us to get to the airport seemlessly. The only hitch was when the elevator broke down on our last day of stay and we had to drag down our heavy bags five floors down! Will definitely come back.
Bad points: average cleaning standard, very noisy inside, the streets around the hotel looked not too safe, poor breakfast facility,no internet connection at all! Good points: friendly and helpful staff, everyday fresh towels, good location, budget friendly
great little hotel, good loccation value for money”
it was great, from the moment we arrived it felt like being welcomed into someone's home. although Marias English was not great, she was like a mum and made sure we had everything we wanted. located between 2 major stations, getting around was simple. having approx. 2-3 dozen fast food joints within 200 yards, and lovely restaurants too. traffic busy in the day.....silent at night buffet continental breakfast in a morning, keeps coming til you are full. cheap, spotlessly clean, friendly
Not a bad hotel”
The area around Gare du Nord seems really unsafe to me, particularly at night. I wouldn't feel comfortable walking around there if I were female. It is a great location however, next to a metro/transporation hub. There are a lot of restaurants very near by, and the street the hotel is located on is nice and quiet. The room was larger than I'd expected (but not exactly gigantic - don't go expecting anything amazing) and fairly clean, although the walls were a little distressing. I'd recommend this hotel if you want a hotel close to transportation. The lack of free wifi was not good, however.
Hotel was exactly what I needed”
Good place to stay after arriving late on the Eurostar. The immediate area is a but scruffy (especially in the evenings), but the hotel was easy to get to, had friendly English-speaking staff, and had a clean room with a modern bathroom.
It is just so-so. ”
Just so-so. The towers are too old like wiping cloth that have been used for over 50 years, it was disgusting. The waiters and waitress are nice but the first day when i checked in, that man was very rude. Anyway, just for some days stay for business, I do not care too much.
My friends and I ( in total 3 girls) stayed in the hotel recently for one night. We checked in on 6th July and checked out on 7th July. The hotel aircon was not working and a fan was provided in the room. We were not told that the aircon was not working (for the entire hotel) when we checked in and only found out when we went up to our room and tried to switch on the air-con but unable to do so and found a fan on the writing desk. We asked the person at the check-in desk and he confirmed that the hotel air-con broke down. I am not sure if this is the case or the hotel switched off completely due to low occupancy rate as the hotel was quiet. I asked for some refunds for all the discomfort but was not able to do so as the booking was done on Agoda and payment was made in advance. The receptionist said that my request would be sent to the office to review on Monday but so far I haven't heard from them. What is the standard policy under this circumstance?
Convenient, good for backpackers/travellers”
It was rather enjoyable, it's rather clean and comfortable. It's also very good for foreigners like us as it is easily accessible to the metro.
Central location. Close to train.”
Good location. We find it easy to navigate around the area.
good hotel pity about staff”
hotel was very clean and in great location, the guy who gave you breakfast up the road was very good too. however STAFF WERE AWFUL... They questioned my booking when i first arrived, they didn't look at you entering or leaving. The guy when I was leaving took a phonecall in the middle of me talking to him and he was aggressive and unhelpful.
overall ok.. the bed quite old. nice n warm room a lot restaurant nearby..very near to gare du nord be carefull if u walk from are du nord at night..a lot of scammer. overall a satisfactory stays
Not even for a night”
Staffs with bad attitude, lousy room, broken bathtub, tiny room and bed, no air con, called and knocked my room for so many times by mistake early in the morning when I was sleeping Only the breakfast was ok
paris in springtime”
Convenient for train. Rooms very tired - grubby walls, average bed, hand held shower that spouted water from break in metal tubing. Nothing outstanding. Breakfast is not upto standard - juice, tea, coffee, cornflakes, milk, cold croissants, pieces of baguette, jams. Overpriced for value. No airconditioning.
Not so good”
The room smelled like the paint smell! The room floor was dirty. Gare du Node is big but very dangerous at night. Staying close to this station is not a good idea! I was scared to death when I walked to the hotel from that station at 11pm.
It was purposeful.”
If it wasnt for a stop over in Paris as enroute to Swiss, we wouldnt have stayed there. We were given the roof top room with an attic window. It feels like we were the only tenant with a lift that moves to the sound of alfred hitchcock movie. Other than, its apurposeful hotel with basic needs. The place is kept relatively clean. Staff could be more friendly.
location is good”
