The place is great though, you have to endure a 30-minute motorcycle ride on a rough road. The beach is clear though there dead corals and huge rocks underwater. Best to bring aqua shoes. Staffs are friendly and accommodating. Food are served in big servings.

Peaceful”

If you want peace and serenity then this is the place. what's good about this place is it's cheap, away from the city which i prefer, the services are nice, the people are awesome. the beach is also clean and well maintained. What you might want to consider of going here however is the distance of the place. It's quite far to access about 30mins to an hour from the port, and if you are a solo traveler you might want to use the moto (habal-habal) transport vehicle to avail a cheaper ride. You also need to bring cash is card is not available in this property. In groups however, the resort offers a pick and drop services with acceptable rates. Although it's far but in my point of view it's worth it. I definitely recommend this place especially for couples.

a secret paradise”

unless you have a car,motorbike is the only means of transportation to the resort.i am not used to riding a bike so it was really uncomfortable and scary that i had to hold on tight in every bump or im sure i will fall off, however when i reached the resort,everything unpleasantness ive encountered were all forgotten fast because the place was heavenly! it was so serene that one only hears the waves and the wind and the best part was,i was the only guest there and the entire beach was just all for me. the room was very clean as well as the surroundings. the food was great and the proportion was really big that i couldnt finish all eventhough i was really hungry.it was at a very reasonable price.what made my stay very satisfying were the staff.they were very friendly and accomodating and made me felt that i wasnt alone.thank you po kuyas and ate. if asked if il be willing to undergo the same hardship going to the resort, i would definitely be willing to again and again...

Peaceful gateaway”

The serenity sells it all. The sound of the waves, sea breeze, enjoy the company family. If you are into snorkeling, this is a very good place to be. But you have to prepare for 32km bumpy ride and lots of corals on the shoreline. Great place. Ask kuya Bobby!

Great secluded location”

I really enjoyed staying here, the tree house is amazing and the rope bridges and hammock perfect, please check this hotel out as places like this wont be around for long as everything becomes concrete

It was my first time to stay here, ive stayed in Pearl Farm, Paradise Garden etc etc, this place is a hidden Gem, Its a bit of a trip to get there but worth the trip, The staff are great, We stayed in the tree house which is something hard to find these days , I only stayed a few nights and will stay a week or so next time,

Best in Samal Island”

Not for the usual travelers who crave accessibility as this is a very remote resort. But it is precisely its distance from the rest of Samal Island that appeals to me - quiet beach, blazing star skies on moonless nights, and the overall peace and quiet. Highly recommended!

Splendid and relaxing”

Very relaxing and peaceful. Great place to get away from the noisy city. Nature at it's best! The beach is still in it's natural beauty. My best time and the highlight of my stay is the low tide snorkeling! I enjoyed watching the fishes even though the corrals is not at best state. Please don't touch the naturalness of the beach. Lots of sun but still cool because of the trees. Young Coconut also available, enjoyed much. Great for swimming in the afternoon and early morning. Great food and very affordable. Delicious lemon chicken ever tasted.. Great staff. Very attentive, seeing to it that we are well taken care off. The rooms are very affordable and very clean. My suggestion for it is that, even the dorm should at least it's own comfort room. It was raining in the night when we stayed here. It's hassling when you have to use CR in your pajamas and have to be drenched with rain though it was few steps walk.

A place to relax ”

We had a good stay. It could have been better if we stayed longer so that we could have enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere there. The place is very remote and far from both wharf in Samal Island (Kaputian Island Wharf and Babak Wharf). We traveled for almost 2 hours from Davao City and a portion of the road is not yet cemented. We felt that the travel was really long. But it was worth it. The room was okay, food was okay, service of staff is very good. I like the lounging chair near the beach shore. There were several cottages to just laze around. During the island hopping, they assigned 1 resort staff to be our life guard, really nice service from them.

Go there now when it is still tranquil”

Others here have already said a lot about the place. Yes it is nice, friendly people and pleasant landscaping, and at this moment it is still quiet and peaceful. Very remote location, you WILL need their expensive shuttle to get there from the Kaputian jetty. The Fan-cottages are good value for money, much more so than the AC-units which are not near the sea. Food is good and the prices acceptable. Management somehow inexperienced in hospitality but very adoptive and flexible and listening to guests suggestions. Sadly, the sea is not swimmable – very very rocky, plus – at least a few hundred Meters North where we walked one afternoon – there are thousands of sea urchins hiding in and between the rocks, so watch out or u will be stung. They have big plans for their resort but I assume the peace and tranquility they actually want to retain (and there are many signboards in the resort reminding people to avoid noise and be considerate) will be a thing of the past then. They are already building a lot more cottages on a hill across the road, where they will have a Pool (with slides, which means hordes of screaming and yelling local kids, who will annoy the overnight guests) plus even a Zipline going from the hill to the seafront. It seems the place could easily become an amusement park in the future (they already have a canopy walk on the premises). Another very irritating fact is, that they still feel the need to cater to local “daytrippers”, even though there are already plenty of other low-budget places in the vicinity catering to this group of customers. Which for example means that if you are an overnight-guest, you will probably see all those nice sunbeds taken over in the morning already by local families who rent those for a handful of Piso. Particularly as the number of overnight-guests will double, considering the many new Cottages that are being constructed on the hill at this moment. Plus those daytrippers are invariably noisy, so the peace will fade away.

The place is the best beach I've been at, so far. I was able to really savor the wonders of nature with the experience of fresh air, dipping in the clear blue beach, the chirping of birds outside your window, exploring the cave nearby, my son enjoying the snorkeling activity and hubby enjoying the "just right" weather (even if it was summer).It was really a reconnection with nature. Also, the whole experience wouldn't be complete without the exceptional accommodation and reception of the resort staff. This is the first time I felt sad while leaving the resort. I felt I was home and didn't feel the need to leave. I have to be here every year, at the least. I so love Samal.

very nice place”

it is far, and if you go and ride a motorcycle make sure they take the sea side road and not through mountain. fare should be around 75p per head. driver's will try to take advantage of everyone if you don't know. as far as the resort very peaceful and great great food. nice bar area with very cheap prices. only thing is there is no cell signal their, they have wifi but very limited. as well they experience brown outs often. but they place is amazing other then that.

Tried this on the off chance and liked it so much we stayed 5 nights moving from tree house to cottage for benefit of own bathroom. Staff most accomodating especially Jeff. Food akso very good. Its a long way from home (UK) fir us but we would definitely visit again and highly recommend. Steve and Marian

Value for money”

Going to the place was really difficult as you have to go through a lot of rough roads which made travel time longer (an hour or more instead of 30mins from the port),we hired a private vehicle which made it a little better than riding the normal transpo of habal habal.Place was secluded but decent.Rooms were very spacious and affordable but better if it has a cable TV atleast since there isn’t much that you can do on the island apart from swimming.Our room has an outdoor comfort room which was a first for me,found it pretty cool though.Beach could be more maintained as there were a lot of trash and logs on the shoreline including the beach itself.Staff was polite and attentive.Loved the hammocks and the hanging bridge,tree house was also nice.Wifi is slow.One thing that stood out-food.Took a while to be served but surprisingly great.Overall,if you want a timeout from the city and is looking for an affordable,serene and relaxing place,this is the place to be.This for me is just a one time go to place though but will still recommend

We stayed 2 days and 1 night here in Island Garden Resort in Pangubatan last March 25-26, 2018. I was speechless seeing this place. Its like a hidden paradise. The place is very peaceful and beautiful. Perfect place for me.❤ The staffs also are very accommodating especially Mr. Bobie (Boobs) 😂. To sir Bong (one of the owner), boutan pud kaau, acommodating and friendly. Then giatiman jud mig maayo. Gihatagan pajud mi ug marang niya. Lami kaau. 😊 Customer service is perfect 10/10. Ang foods nga giserve nila for us kay very delicious, perfect 10. The resort also is perfect 10. Very native and relaxing. Makalimot jud kas imong trabaho. 😊 Thank you so much. Highly recommended resort. Babalik kami dyan soon. Two days were not enough.

A peaceful stay for bonding and swimming.Nice and clean beach with clear water. Good food,and a most service-minded staff. A bumpy ride to get there,but we had the place almost for ourselves. Recommended before the mass-tourism gets there.

I found a home in paradise”

Despite reading reviews of how far this resort is located, i still pursued with my booking. I chose to spend our 5th anniversary in this resort, and i never did i regret my decisions. Perhaps the way going there almost made me give up, but i trusted my gut feeling that it would be worth it. We stayed in the higher tree house on our first night but i wont really recommend it to those with fear of heights and those with issues with their feet/knees since its really high. It would be difficult to pee outside in the middle of the night. Its good for those teenagers perhaps. The lower treehouse is definitely one of the things you shouldn't miss here. It got a great view of the beach which is only a few feet away. I felt sad leaving this paradise. I wish its closer enough for me to visit all the time to distress. Thank tito bobby for your accommodation. I'd surely recommend this to my friends.

A quiet and relaxing getaway ”

The place is great. The food is sumptuous and the staffs are very friendly. Among them are Kuya Bobbie, he will surely give you tips so you could save more on money yet enjoyable tour. It's just the WiFi signal, that has a problem but if you really want to cut off communication from work, it's the best place to be.
