Decent Hotel at Strategic Location”
Was travelling with my mum, and I can say this hotel is decent enough and comfortable especially with own bathroom in your own room. Room size space is comfortable enough for two people. Location is just near to Kawaramachi shopping streets (Teramachi & Shinkyogoku) and you can just walk to Gion and the other interesting places like Kiyomizudera, Sannenzaka and Ninenzaka. The only drawback is that you have to go to the counter to return your room key but i guess it somehow makes you not to lose them while doing your sightseeing outside. The hotel actually helped me to contact the hospital on my behalf since my mum was sick. They're also helpful when you ask them any questions but there's also a language barrier. If you use Google Translate, then you should be fine.

Location is good, the room is clean enough. staff always welcome us and assisted with our enquiries. The room price consider is a good deal during the Sukura period. We will be back next time.

Kyoto Central Hotel is right up of subway station and in shopping area. Towels are clean but pale.

Great location and affordable ”
The title says it all, it's right in the center of Kyoto, Kawaramachi station exit right below the hotel and bus stop just across the street. You can go anywhere from here. Walking distance from Nishiki Market, Gion District and Pontocho Area. The staffs were friendly and helpful, they speak pretty good English too. Great experience in Kyoto

Nice hotel in a great location ”
This was a nice basic hotel. Nothing fancy but good value for money. Location is great. Walking distance to Gion, Yasaka shrine, Nishiki market and many other places. Friendly staff. Only minus is that for me the room was too cold.

Hyper convenient location ”
Directly connected to Hankyu-Kawaramachi station, you will not be get wet even on a rainy day. Starbucks and a convenience store is also available, you won’t miss eating place. Hotel itself is far from luxury, but if you put priority on location you may consider this hotel for your stay.

Right above station and very near to Nishiki Market ”
Location is very convenient as is right above station and very near to Nishiki Market which have lots of foods varieties. Hotel is old need to revamp, toilet are too cramp even for Asian. Whenever we going out need to return key to reception. Pro is we are smoker , this hotel do have smoking room cause Kyoto is different from Osaka. Difficult to find a smoking point and seldom see other smoking.

Decent place”
I don’t really understand some of these bad reviews. It’s decently affordable, quiet enough, and in a convenient location. Only negative was old dusty socks found under the bed. Cleanliness could be improved a bit in the out of sight places.

Basic base for Kyoto visit”
As others have mentioned, the room is smallish and dated. The bathroom is even smaller, but appears to have been updated recently and is clean. Fine for a bigger stay.

Excepcional”
Cons- small bathroom with small tub. The bed was too soft. Pro-good amenities and excellent location. Walking distance to many shops, restaurants, and subway. Starbucks is on the bottom along with transportation.

Best hotel”
This is the best hotel I’ve stayed in Japan for its value! The place is so strategic that you can get to most places from here. Literally surrounded by restaurants and shops, a few minutes walk to Gion. All the staff are really polite, they bow and smile each time you pass (you would expect this at every hotel in Japan but doesnt always happen). The room size is just perfect for a solo traveller with an addition of a lounge chair in the room! This place would be my recommendation if you’re looking to stay in a hotel in Kyoto!
