Nice room, great value, but street outside has edgy feel”
This hotel is a bargain and it's close enough to all the good stuff to make it well worth it if you can handle walking past some edgy looking guys hanging around outside. If you're not used to big city environments this isn't the place for you, but if you can, this a great value.
Nice hotel n good price if u don mind the location”
The hotel is nice but lift is tiny n old sch. Breakfast is good n has variety. only complain it’s situated in an Indian/Bangladesh street, when we were finding the hotel, we thought we were at the wrong place. ppl were all standing along the streets staring at us. At night we could hear dogs barking n ppl shouting. early morning 4am when we leaving for the airport, we saw ppl fighting on the street -_-||| If u don mind the location, it’s walkable distance to major tourist attractions like flea market, Acropolis etc.
Was extremely loud all the time. Housekeeping knocked on my door at 7:20am. That’s a little early. Then when they did clean my room, they dirty towel i left on the floor the folded up and put back on my bed.
Lack of hair dryer and toothbrush and its in a dangerous alley at night for this price”
Never provide toothbrush and hair dryer. Don't expect much for this price. Their breakfast is quite good for this price though but the baked beans are cold and not served heated. Its located in a dangerous and rundown alley. Never dare to go out at night! But it's good for the price and provided a comfortable shelter in a danger zone.
A good recommended hotel”
The staff at thereception is very nice. The room has enough space. It is clean renovated with working airconditioning and heating in the winter which you can turn off. THe bathroom is very nice with all the essentials. Wifi connection is very good. Breakfast didn't have too many options but I believe it was adecquate. THe location is in the city center and just a 3 minutes walk from the metro staton of Omonoia, but it is in a location full of immigrants which might disturb some but I felt rahter safe.
The staff is amazing”
I loved this hotel because the staff is so helpful... however it was always nerve wrecking to come home in the night time due to the location. The room is basic and bathroom is spacious, if it is just for transit then this is the place to go.
The hotel is fine, but rooms are not sound proof and can be noisy. Buffet is nice and includes yogurt, ham, cheese, eggs etc. The location is awful because the area felt really unsafe. Lots of refugees hanging around this area and also homeless people, the streets nearby are dirty and stinky. Felt scared to go out especially at night.
Very nice hotel”
Location is good , big room and cleen . Breakfast good service of reception are very friendly
Good value for money”
I was worried about the hotels location after i saw the comments here. Even if there is some immigrants at the streets, they are not a threat to you. On a narrow sideway, i walked directly towards to them on purpose. Just to check their reactions. Almost everyone let me pass or gave the road. İ think they are well aware of that if they bother someone they would go back their hell-like countries
Comfort zone in a dangerous alley”
Its located in a dangerous and rundown alley. Never dare to go out at night! But it's good for the price and provided a comfortable shelter in a danger zone.
Clean, well equipped, modern with excellent staff”
The receptionists were polite, and very friendly yet efficient. One is delightfully lively with English native level English, having been raised in Cornwall, UK. All reception staff fluent in English. Large reception with balcony where one may print boarding passes if travelling with any airline with hostile check in time schedule policies e.g. Ryanair, Wizzair.. En suite rooms in good order and well equipped. Bed comfortable with clean linen. Breakfast not lavish but sufficient choice and of good quality. Set in any area of character with Arabic influences; if you want a very smart area, suggest book elsewhere. Near to many interesting attractions. Reasonable room prices and good value. Popular with South Americans and Europeans. I have to return to Athens in September and Marina is where I shall stay. 95 bus from Airport to last stop. Taxi rank right ahead round the corner. 4.5 Euros to Marina (May 2018). Easy. At Marina's room price, I was 100% satisfied.
I can see why this property enjoys repeat customers. Despite rooms being a little tired, everything else is just fabulous. Staff are helpful and friendly. The entire hotel is clean and well appointed as well as handy to beach, tram and buses. I have only walked to town centre, it's an easy 10 minutes but would not suit all to do so. Best of all, the food is stunning ! Breakfast buffet beyond my expectations and better than major names in the city. I'd happily return here for the quality sleep and awesome breakfast .... Never mind the beach or anything else. :)
The hotel's location is very convenient and not far from a Metro station. It is a budget hotel and probably suitable for solo travelers. The room is very simple and small, thus not comfortable for a long stay. There are many budget hotels in Athens, hence you can try several hotels in the same area and find a most suitable hotel for your budget and purpose.
A nice hotel in an unfortunate neighborhood”
I'm going to start by saying that the hotel was nice, our room cozy and clean. The view was not great, but it was a budget room so we didn't expect much of that. That being said, when arriving in Athens we took a street that Google maps recommended (Menandrou) and since we didn't know the city, we thought nothing of it, just went there. We quickly realized that we got to the bad part of the city when we saw the mountains of garbage on the street (in an otherwise very clean city), groups of guys looking at us in a very aggressive way and some even coming close to us in a "get out of here" way. Sadly the street that the hotel is on (Voulgari) is just a cleaner extension of Menandrou. And most of the neighborhood is the same. I lived in the bad part of Brussels for half a year, close to the North train station, so i thought i've seen it all, however we never got back to the room later than 9 because of the shady people roaming around our hotel.
Good for one night ”
There was not enough breakfast for all the customers.
Good hotel for their price”
Location is not good , but the rest of conditions are excellent.
Good service and nice staff”
The staff are very helpful and nice. The breakfast is very good with many choices. But the location is bad , I feel uncomfortable and not safe.
