Estuvimos solo una noche, pero fue muy agradable. La cena, aunque un poco picante, estaba muy buena al igual que el desayuno. La familia es muy agradable e intenta que estés a gusto.

One of the best places we stayed in Sri Lanka”

Our stay was amazing! We were travelling for three weeks in Sri Lanka and Morning Star Guest House was definitely one of the best places we’d stayed. Beautifully family run guest house with all the mod-cons. A/C, bar fridge and great pool area. Highly recommended:)

Nice stay in Mirissa”

There was an issue with the booking through Agoda (seems to be a problem with all places we stayed with Agoda) and our room was double booked. The superior room was free and the owners asked if we could pay the difference to move in there which we couldn't given the difference in price. So they eventually let us stay in the superior room for the first 2 nights until our original room became free. It was a little hassle with all the moving in one stay but we managed to compromise. This is a family ran guesthouse with a very friendly and warm family who are charming and helpful. A large breakfast consisting of a mixed fruit plate and continental breakfast was always well received in the mornings. The pool at the back of the property was the highlight. Sat with a beer under the shade in a sunbed whilst staring out into the jungle watching and hearing the wildlife pass by. Blissful. It is located slightly to the end of Mirissa beach which for us was fine as we enjoyed the walk and only a short tuk-tuk journey away.

Couldn't be better and super friendly!”

We stayed at Morning Star for two lovely nights. Their superior rooms are extremely good with very large beds and beautiful floors, close to the great infinity pool (if you're lucky you'll see a monkey in the surrounding trees), and away from the busy road. Anura and his family are extremely helpful and will assist you with absolutely anything. It is also outside the slightly smaller bay East of Mirissa Bay which we preferred as it was smaller and less busy (even though they are both great beaches). We loved our time here and couldn't recommend it more!

Friendly service”

My girlfriend and I had a comfortable stay here. The place is family-run and everyone was very friendly and hospitable. The owner's son was especially warm and helpful, always making sure we had everything we need. The room and toilet was very clean.

Joyous and comfortable. The only thing I would say is that this is not close to the main beach. So if You are planning to go to one of those beach front restaurants late night (around 9ish), the walk can feel like it takes forever coz there are no street lights. Its only a 10 min walk though.

A pleasnt place to stay in Mirissa”

On arrival, it was discovered that there had been a stuff up with my booking as, even though I had a confirmation from Agoda, the guesthouse had no record of my booking and there were no available rooms for that night. However, the owner arranged for me to stay at another very nice place next door for one night (with access to Morning Star's wifi and lounge area) and I was able to move to Morning Star for the second night. Overall, it was a pleasant stay and I'd probably recommend both places.

money saver ”

this place was close to beach, and we went to a quick morning walk which was nice. We arrived late so they owner made us an easy dinner with local noddle which wasn't too bad. And the breakfast was only bread and egg but they also give us a large plate of very nice fruits which were amazing. I would say if you are looking for a cheap and clean place this would be a nice place. The major issue is it is by the main road from Matara to Galle, so it is really noisy.

Nice Stay”

My visit in this hotel was wonderful. I never met before so understanding managers. If there is no a free room - a manager comes quickly. If you want a delicious breakfast - you will have it every day and it will be different. If you took a fish, and you want to cook it, the owner will make it very tasty. Thank you very much, I will never forget this holiday.

Great Breakfast”

We got abandoned by our driver in the middle of our trip (Day 6), it is very fortunate that the owner here are very nice and gave us advices in going to Galle. The breakfast they offer is also in huge portion which give you a good start of the day. It is close to the beach area, but might take you 10 minutes walk to the major area. In the morning there are local prayers played with a loud speaker on the street, which some people might find it uncomfortable.

Good place, great family, bad location”

I stayed for one night after a long trip from Colombo. Beautiful family welcomed me. The room was nice, clean and comfortable but the loud temple chants next door made it difficult to relax.

wonderful stay”

We stayed 3 nights at morning star guest house. It was the best stay we had during our 3 weeks trip in sri lanka. This wonderful family does its best for you. We were welcomed with a super avocado juice and the breakfast is the best we had in sri lanka! The place is brand new, everything is super clean. The rooms are gorgeous (a four-poster bed and balcony). The food is excellent and you just have to cross the road to be on a quiet beach. Everything is perfect at morning star guest house, and this nice family makes you feel like coming back!

Siamo stati davvero benissimo, lo staff ci ha fatto sentire come a casa nostra! La camera è piccola ma tenuta molto bene e pulitissima Posizione buona poco dopo Papa Mango, a pochi lkr di tuk tuk dal centro, fattibilissimo anche a piedi. Colazione da 10, la migliore di tutta la vacanza in Sri Lanka per quantità, qualità e per il fatto di essere servita nel portico del giardino. Accoglienza super: mi sono fatto male ad una gamba e mi hanno medicato e coccolato preoccupandosi sinceramente per come stavo.

Ottima sistemazione a due passi da Mirissa beach. La famiglia che gestisce la guest house vi accoglierà con sorrisi. Sono tutti molto disponibili e gentili! La struttura è composta da poche camere molto curate e pulite. Alcune hanno il bancone con vista mare. La colazione è molto ricca (provate il pancake al cocco!!). Purtroppo non siamo riusciti a provare la cucina casalinga, se vi capita prenotate la cena..i piatti erano molto invitanti!!

Trois jours super dans chouette pension”

Nous avons passé trois jours super dans cette pension fort agréable! Rien à redire si ce n'est peut-être la proximité de la route; mais nous avions une petite terrasse avec vue sur un jardin de palmiers: spectacle de petits singes acrobates compris!!!!

Agréable séjour dans un secteur très touristique”

Mirissa dispose de 3 types d'emplacement d'établissements : les établissement au bord de l'eau, attenants à la route mais avec une vue irréprochable sur la mer et sur le tumulte nocturne de la plage; les établissements face à la mer mais de l'autre côté de la route (c'est le cas du morning star) ici l'on est pas préservé du bruit de la route mais de celui de la plage et l'on bénéficie tout de même d'une jolie vue; enfin les derniers se situe plus en arrière et son bien évidemment plus calmes mais également plus loin de l'atout principal de Mirissa la plage.Chacun trouvera son compte des ses différentes implantations.EN ce qui concerne Morning Star, ces chambres d'hôtes sont tenues par une famille à l’écoute disponible et souriante.Je ne peux que vous conseillez de ne pas vous rendre sur la plage certains soir et de déguster leur cuisine.
