habitacion limpia,personal majo, bien situado”

Estuvimos 4 noches muy agusto. El chico que lleva todo es muy atento y esta pendiente de lo que puedas necesitar. La habitacion estaba muy limpia,aunque el baño olia algo a tuberia pero nada grave. El desayuno es abundante. Esta al otro lado de la carretera (a la noche nose escucha nada de ruido) y a 5 minutos andando de la playa. Tiene un jardin agrable para estar. En caso de volver a mirissa me alojaria alli de nuevo.

A destacar solamente la ubicacion, en general la relacion precio calidad en la costa de sri lanka es pobre, los hoteles/ casas de huespedes estan sobre valuados

Strange place ”

This felt like it might have been a nice place once but has not been well looked after ... the room was grotty , with a broken mosquito net (which is needed as the riverside location and gaps around doors mean plenty of creepy crawlers. the very off-putting owner was constantly around questioning you if you left the property for a second. And there was an in-house tuk tuk guy trying to tout for you business for the day as soon as you woke up. The breakfast was truly awful (how far wrong can you go with a fried egg and toast.. pretty far it seems..) I never risked any other meals there as the level of service was poor. Despite all that it’s cheap and a convenient location, close to beach and all restaurants /shops - and the garden space does attract lots of wildlife, I saw a bunch of monkeys playing and a large monitor lizard right outside my chalet

Welcoming staff, good location”

The two best things about Riverside Cabanas were the friendly and helpful owner and his staff and the central location of this hotel. Someone was always on hand to help with whatever we needed, such as information or booking a tour. Very welcoming and personable. The location is also very central to the beach, shops, or tour companies - just a short walk to most everything. The only improvement that we suggest is to improve the cleanliness of the rooms. Otherwise, we were happy and satisfied. Many thanks!

One of the best hotels I have stayed in the whole of Sri Lanka. Breakfast is included and is filling with fried egg, toast, fresh juice and yoghurt. close to the beach, about a 5 minute walk. Good rotti shop round the corner.

Worth the money, and includes aircon and breakfast. Very close to the beach with places to eat

Little Oasis Not Far From The Beach”

Loved these little cabanas. Stayed one night. Beds were comfortable and clean. Three minute walk to the beach. Wonderful customer service. Would definitely stay at Riverside Cabanas again next time we're in Mirissa.

Basic stay”

Nice, clean garden with lots of animals to watch. The area is not super busy. A 5 minute walk to the beach where you can find beach beds for free. There are a few restaurants close by. The bathroom is tiny and the same goes with the breakfast. You have to cross the main road to get to the beach. Bus stops both to and from Matara are just a short walk away. The guys that run the place are very helpful!

Good location and pleasant garden”

The place is located close to the bus stop and the entrance to the beach. The room is decent although I have seen better ones for the same price in other cities. The breakfast was ok, nothing exceptional.

the place is lovely, quiet and a few min from the beach. the staff is lovely, they even let us check out super late just because they are happy if we are happy. so nice! breakfast is very good too.

Great Location, Peaceful Setting”

Riverside Cabanas was really accommodating. We accidently booked the wrong night and they switched us to a different room for our night at no extra charge. They also let us keep our luggage at the hotel while we went whale watching and helped us find a car to Uda Walawe in the afternoon. The room was very spacious and clean with good working AC and fans. The grounds were very peaceful and well taken care of right next to the river. We would definitely stay there again.

Suitable but just average...”

As we were walking into Riverside we were thinking, wow this looks great, then we noticed the older staff member sitting in the eating area with no top on watching television. He sent over a younger staff member to greet us and when we said we had a booking we heard the older guy say 'no booking'. Luckily we had printed it out as it had been paid for and after about 10 minutes we were taken to our room. The first thing we noticed was all the floors in the room were plain concrete and the sheets were cheap polyester, now that may be ok, but when it is 35 degrees Celsius and 90% humidity they add to your heat and sweat. So we put the AC on and that was extremely ineffective. It took at least 5 hours to cool the room and even then it wasn't that cool. The breakfast was adequate but it is hard to get toast, jam and tea wrong. We did not eat here but the prices looked reasonable. As a beach hotel there is no where to wash of sand from your feet so your concrete floors get very sandy very fast. Oh and the wifi did not reach the room so you had to sit in the reception which had no fan or AC...

They dont have a manager, only kids to serve you breakfast. With very small improvements this could be a very nice hotel. Breakfast is the same everyday, no frui, no juice if you dont ask for it.
