Only thing was the board walk across the road is quite dangerous walking to and from along the main road. Definitely recommend the holiday park , we look forward to returning 😀

There's a lovely lady called Vicky. She owns the Russell-Orongo Holiday Park where we booked our cabin for two nights. She was there waiting for us when we finally arrived at 8:30pm. It was clean, tidy with relaxed surroundings and really affordable. Ducks and chooks meander around and there's a Kiwi trail at the back of the property. But the best part was the late check out. Thanks Vicky, you're the best.

The location is ok, a short drive to Russell Centre, close to beaches. But the cleanliness is not to my standard. I understand everyone's standard is different, but if you can spend a little bit more money, try somewhere else. Some of the rooms can be really hot in summer as there is no draught.

Lovely clean property. Comfortable cabin . Food and barista coffee can be purchased from a caravan onsite and also available is a small shop with supplies.

Our short stay was wonderful. Keep up the good work. What we did like was the opportunity young travellers could enjoy with free accommodation for a few hours work a day.

At one with Nature”
Our booking was just perfect for our 3 night stay as a base to explore the beautiful area. My granddaughter described the setting as "this is heaven" as she interacted with the local wildlife and explored around the camp. Facilities also included a great playground for children along with an excellent swimming pool. Our hosts were most accommodating and helpful in every way. Our stay was in the lodge with shared facilities but we were pleasantly surprised to discover our unit included its own kitchen which was not advised on the Agoda website. We found the facilities very clean and attended to . A trek through the adjoining bush at night looking for kiwis was also a highlight. This camp is a perfect location for those wanting a spot away from the maddening crowds and tourist areas, yet only a 5 min drive to the heart of historic Russell. This camp is a credit to its owners who aim to provide a tradition kiwi camping experience set within a natural and sustainable environment.

Camping great, cabins not so much ”
We stayed in a standard cabin. It was a block of 10 rooms, five in row on either side. Because they only have a door and windows on one side it was very hot. It was noisy because with the window open you heard everyone walking back and forth in front of your room. The bathroom and kitchen facilities were fine. We walked around the the campground and it looked very nice. private and quiet with forest around you. The cleaning staff were great! The owners were not the friendliest. If I went again to Russell, I would try to TOP 10 place instead. We had a look there and its location is great, at the edge of town, everything within walking distance. The cabins looked nice, not attached so more privacy.

Where to start well on arrival too our cabin we thought this is cool a deck that led too a two room cabin bbq on the deck that on later inspection hadn't been cleaned in God knows when take our bags in walk into a musty smelling room go into master bedroom floor is wet around the walls edge previous people must of flooded it they had try to dry it out but hadn't worked Time to relax watch some tv ahhhhh can't do that either tv doesn't work !!!! That's alright they got wifi ahhhhh wrong again that didn't work !!!! There was no warning on check in about the carpet being wet the excuses of "we live off the beaten track and it is Boxing Day" don't really cut the mustard for the money we paid I thought that this place was rubbish
