Clean room, Perfect Host”
Everything was as promised. Our room and the bathroom were spotless clean. The bed was large enough for two with a mosquito net on top. The room also has a fridge, which is very convenient at night. Breakfast is very generous and as far as we realized they can cater to your simple needs as well. The homestay is located in the heart of the jungle but walking distance to the restaurants. However, especially after dusk it is not safe to go to/from the village center by walking due to elephant risk. The owner drives you down to the village and pick you up whenever you want with his powerful Mahindra jeep for free. The owner is such a fun guy. He is always smiling and tries his best to make you smile as well. All in all perfect stay.

We really enjoyed staying at this accommodation. The breakfast is amazing and the owner is very helpful and friendly. He dropped 8 of us off at 4:45 at the starting point of the hike (free of charge). Really recommend this place!

The lovely couple, Preantha and Manekay made sure that our stay was comfortable and pleasant in every way. Plus such an amazing home made Sri Lankan breakfast we had. Absolutely loved the experience! Definitely coming back again 😀

Very nice owner, clean room, however we had a power outage during our stay and had to take a cold shower in dark. I wish they offered us a flashlight.

I really enjoyed my stay at Sigiri Rock Side Homestay - the host is really helpful and friendly, providing many tips and interesting conversations! If you wake early enough you can even watch him cook breakfast :) the breakfast spread is so delicious! The property is walking distance to Sigiriya Rock and a few restaurants. On quiet mornings and afternoons you can even spot endemic animals like the Sri Lankan hornbills, giant squirrels and Toque macaque relaxing at the premises. The walk into the property may be really dark at night but you can spot fireflies along the way. Powercuts sometimes happen in the current situation but it is usually back in a few minutes with almost no inconvenience. You can also book a jeep tour for elephant spotting. I can easily stay here for a week with the comfortable and serene environment.

It is right opposite to the foreign counter for sigiriya rock. Breakfast spread is great. The host is humble and helps you with booking a tuk tuk or safari. He also helps you with travel to nearby places. Rooms were very clean and neat.

We Loved it”
After a night in Negombo to recover from the journey, we arrived here and loved it from the start. Our room was simple but really comfy and spotlessly clean. Surrounded by jungle, we had a great time exploring the area, watching the monkeys trying to steal leftover breakfast, drinking beer from teapots, eating curry and rice, walking back in the pitch dark. The owner and his wife are lovely and really friendly serving a great breakfast and helping to organise drivers.

Clean and comfortable place”
A bit difficult to find in the night but like most places in Sri Lanka. We checked in really late and he took us to have dinner which was really kind of him. Good breakfast and service. He would manage to sort out whatever you need. Nice and quiet place to stay.

Great option to explore Sigiriya Lion Rock”
I chose this homestay for its super close proximity to Lion Rock. A 10 min walk from the homestay to the entrance of Lion Rock. The owner serves up a massive selection of breakfast. Comfortable, clean, and friendly owners, highly recommended.

Very Friendly”
Good location. In the jungle but only a few minutes from Sigiriya Rock. Very quiet and relaxing. I stayed for a week. It's easy to make day trips to Polonnaruwa, Anuradhapura and one of the national parks to see elephants. The owner of the guesthouse can arrange these trips. He actually showed us around for an hour just before sunset and we could see the Rock across a lake. What a wonderful view! He and his wife are excellent hosts. You can have dinner at the guesthouse and the food is delicious.

Preantha and his wife Manikay were wonderful hosts. The room was very clean and spacious with a sitting area outside. The location was very convenient to Sigiriya rock and the village. The owner is very knowledgeable about Sri Lankan culture and even took us on a short tour of sights in the surrounding area. I definitely recommend Sigiriya Rock Side Home Stay

Perfect homestay!”
The homestay was fenomenal! 1. it is right at the rock! 2. the house is surrounded by a beautiful garden 3. the rooms are big enough, have thick matresses and aircon. The bathroom was huge! 4. the food is delicious! We highly recommend to have dinner there 5. the staff is amazing! The lady organized a laundry for us, even though they usually don't have this. The man knows a lot about the rock and its history. After dinner we sat together and asked him a lot of questions about sri lanka and he was able to answer all of them! Just amazing and lovely :-)

Bester Homestay, den wir bisher hatten!”
Die Besitzer sind sehr hilfsbereit. Wir kamen morgens an und man machte uns frühstück (sehr lecker). Sie bieten ein reichhaltiges Abendbrot zu einem fairen Preis an. Morgens wurden wir zum Felsen gefahren und auf uns wurde immer und jederzeit acht gegeben. Die Zimmer sind einfach, aber sauber. Tolle Erfahrung!
