Antique hotel in Panaji Goa”
The hotel is quite old but the staff is fantastic- it’s just a few mètres from the sea and many offshore casinos in immobile cruise ships . Lots of shops and restaurants nearby. It’s in the north of Goa and malaria is quite under controlled with regular fumigations which is not the case for south Goa.
The Crown sits at the top of the hill in Panaji tucked between the old Portuguese area and the busy downtown. The reception opens to a patio, swimming pool and garden with a spectacular view of the new bridge.. The buffet breakfast served on the patio is very good - a great variety of excellent Goan/ Indian fare, while Western food can be ordered by those less adventurous. The restaurant also serves lunch and dinner - other guests indicated it was sufficient in a pinch, but there are so many other choices of very good restaurants within walking distance. The staff are lovely and respond quickly to requests. We felt well taken care of. This hotel is not new and flashy, but it appears that sufficient care is going into its upkeep and we truly felt its style and age lent it the charm we enjoyed.
Quality hotel, smelly gym”
Quality hotel, maybe superior room river view not worth the £60 we paid. Chose this hotel because of good looking gym. Couldn't use gym because stale mouldy air. Would have been unhealthy to breathe. Comfy bed even though it was 2 singles joined together. Again room smelled of too many cleaning products but ok with window wide open. Buffet breakfast by the pool till 10.30am was OK choice of Indian and western with chef offering to cook omelettes Friendly staff, good service, English speaking. Noon checkout was extended till 1pm for free appreciated as hotel not busy.
Honeymoon Well Spent In A Dream Hotel”
I was apprehensive as this was my first online booking. However the hotel, room and ambeinece is so beautiful, it would be in criminal not leave a review. This hotel deserves its 5 stars considering it is in the heart of the city :) Thank you very much :)
Lovely hotel great location. Interesting views across river. Had lovely meals in restaurant. ”
Nice swimming pool and sun beds. We were upgraded on arrival..1st floor room large and comfortable.Only complaint was no views across river and bathroom in need of replacement...mould in shower...but did not spoil stay. STAFF EXCELLENT .
Excellent hotel, love ❤️ it. Nice breakfast, good pool Friendly staff
Very pleasant stay”
Solo male traveller here. Stayed at The Crown for 4 nights mid- July during monsoon season. I arrived 4:00 AM and reception employees were very welcoming. I had a single room and it was quite large. The room furnishings are dated but in my opinion added to the character of this older hotel. Bed was rock hard and this is my only complaint. Ouch! The outstanding feature of this hotel was the staff. The dining room staff were very curious and professional. Food at the buffet was fine. The Indian breakfast choices were better that western choices and that was fine with me ;) On a negative note, the coffee was terrible. Stick to tea ;) hats off to the reception staff. Their cheerful smiles and happy personalities made my stay at the Crown memorable. I would stay there again.
Love this hotel!”
I loved the quaintness of the location of this hotel. It is in right next to a residential estate which you can walk through to get to the shophouses on the main road. The staff were very friendly and helpful as well. The only thing I would avoid is eating outside as there were quite a bit of bird droppings on the tables. Otherwise, lovely place!
I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel. Frankly I came with no expectation. Just wanted to spend a night here and go to the casino nearby but the hotel pleasantly surprised me. Very nice rooms. Great location. Wonderful staff. Highly recommended
Crown of Panjim”
crown goa is the crown of all hotels in panjim. view ==== the view is awesome and one could spend hours gazing out of the window looking at passing ships and boats down the river mandovi. the whole of panjim stretches below and you can gaze everywhere to your hearts content. pool ==== crown goa has the cleanest and the most funkiest swimming pool in the whole of panjim. the view from the pool and nearby terrace of panjim city reminds you of monte-carlo or similar sea side locations. casino ====== there is a casino on the premises for people who are too tired to drive down this mountain top palace to visit floating casino's in the river mandovi. the only negative point of this hotel is the road directions. 1) you can never find the correct lane which leads to this small road which literally climbs the mountain. 2) with no road signs you could just go round and round and never find the location even when you can see the crown resort above you.
The Crown Goa”
A gem, located on the top of the mountain. The place has the best view of the Mandovi River. The rooms are large and some of them have a balcony with the best view of the river. The hotel has everything. Very good breakfast with many different Indian dishes, and, this includes the traditional English or American breakfast, etc. With regard to lunch and dinner: Chief, Mr. Desai's people make some of the exotic Indian and International dishes that suit every taste. The place is suitable for all types of people of different age. Both, the management and staff, do their utmost to please any guest who lives at Crown Goa. It has been a pleasure for me and my family because we chose this place. We got the best service, best food, and the best experience in this hotel. The entire credit goes to the management that includes GM, Mr. Nikheel Brid and his staff. Best wishes Chawla family from Denmark
Nice place to stay with family and child”
Nice place to stay with family, feeling like home and staff very helpful. They manage my anniversary which was very nice and professional way,I like to thanks Mr Glenn and all staff of front desk and kitchen staff.
Value for Money”
Hotel is good and the location is awesome. Staff is courteous and friendly. However, I would like to recommend improvement in buffet breakfast as the menu was repeated on daily basis and the quality needs to improved.
One of the best kept secrets and Goa Panaji”
This hotel is in one of the best locations, better suited for the family with the kids. As a family we could walk to the nearby one of the best restaurants. Morning buffet breakfast is good but could have been better in terms of spread. Staff was very courteous.
Great value and underrated hotel”
I didn't have much expectations while booking the hotel and had done so for the location but was surprised. The staff were engaging and helpful and also upgraded our room to an executive room with a private garden and a view. The food was decent but the staff was motivated to assist you every possible way.
The hotel did not live up to 5 star rating”
We booked for the new year but we had to pay 6000 rupees to join in the buffet and new years party. We then had problem with the hot water shower we were told to turn the tap on hot.we know about this hot and cold water. The stay at the hotel was fully paid then we were asked for a deposit of 2000 rupees and we were then charged over and above our transport fee tax .these hidden cost should be told to us.and then to pay with card we had to pay more of tax this is what the hotel pays to the bank for using the card facility it is illegal to charge us.it is sad that the whole stay was a dissapointing experience
I arrived from London and 2AM to the Crown hotel. I was told that I was too early to check in and I would have to pay another £70 for the night. My parents arrived the following day and their room wasn’t ready either so I had to order another bed for my room to accommodate them at another cost of £30. The breakfast was poor and the swimming pool had pidgins swimming in it. The pool area is also dark. The staff were slow and unfriendly. If you order a coffee, expect an argument with the staff as it takes forever to arrive. If you’re a smoker, you are banished to the lift area as the hotel is non smoking. We left a day early and I would highly recommend you avoid this disparage of a hotel at all costs.
really enjoyed our stay
Jenny from United Kingdom”
