An affordable and wise choice”
It locates in the city center, and it takes two minutes to walk to the bus stop (the airport). The showers are well equipped with constant warm water. All the toilets are very clean. The kitchen is so wide that at one time can hold more than ten people to cook and eat.

Comfortable Stay”
This was my second time at Urbanz. It's in such a convenient place for walking around the city and also near the bus interchange for going further afield. Rooms are modern and spacious, staff are efficient, lounge area is big. An easy and comfortable stay.

I've stayed at Urbanz a few times now and it always provides a good base for Christchurch. Easy connections to bus services, both local and national. Right in the centre of the city. Good staff and good facilities. I'm sure I'll be back again!

Great location but not for those expecting for a quiet stay”
This place is recommended for backpackers, that would love its location as it is within the central city. The common kitchen is also amazing. However, if you want a serene and quiet place to rest this is not for you. we can clearly hear people on the the other room. Also, at night we can also hear people walking along the corridor, when they open & close their doors.

If possible avoid rooms next to kitchen. This building appears has no shock absorbers. So it creates extream loud noises inside.

Not value for money”
Stayed 4 days for a private room with ensuite room which us about or more expensive than most hotels in the area. I would not recommend this place- you can hear the conversation from the other room- the room is too small and you can barely fit in the shower cubicle. You are better off with an actual hotel

Thanks for your review. According to our records you paid $79 per night for a private ensuite room. We compare our rates everyday with other hotels nearby and we don't know of any cheaper. Since then rates in general have dropped even further due to lack of international tourists.

Room was pretty small but nice and clean and had what you needed. Some problems with the facilities e.g. dryer was broken and there was a long queue to do washing. Also think kitchen should have been bigger for the amount of guests as it was often very busy but overall a good stay

A quality hostel”
Large, well-located hostel. Dorm rooms are not huge by any stretch of the imagination but they are functional. Lockers are appreciated (tip: bring you own padlock) Lots of sitting areas, and kitchen was perfectly adequate with a big window for people watching. Pool table ($2), a darts board (darts were way too light!), plenty of board games, book exchange, etc. Showers were hot and good water pressure. Can't complain :)

Loved this spot. Staff was friendly. Location was great. Kitchen was well stocked with utensils. Bathrooms were clean. It was surprisingly quiet at all of the late and early hours for how may people stay here. I wish we stayed longer honestly. It did get a little warm in the room but it was like 84f outside.
