Excepcional”
Very comfortable place to stay, right on the beach, lovely restaurant serving good food. Great value for money. We had a super holiday and would recommend the place to other travellers. Just something to point out - there is construction going on on the site right next to the hotel which is quite noisy.

Great location clean friendly staff rooms are basic but large ”
It's thirty metres from the waters edge the restaurant had good food and cold beer you can use the pool in the resort across from this hotel and within easy walking to many bars and restaurants in the main area

Bad rooms, smelly, dirty beach, overpriced - AVOID ”
This hotel is actually hilarious in their pricing. The ONLY thing they have going for them is that they are on the beach. Everything else is horrible. Honestly. The rooms are mosquito dungeons and smell like urine- to the point that we almost left after being in the room 20 minutes. They leave the bathroom door open (after they clean the room which is really nice) but this lets all the mosquitoes in - it’s basically man verses best as you are trying to brush your teeth. Hot water - you must think you are special or at a resort. Overall the rooms are bad. No if and or buts. Additionally the restaurant is overpriced and has the most bland and overpriced food we’ve had. It was the worst spot we stayed in Vietnam and the most expensive. Place is a definite swing and a hard miss.

Government shut down the resort for unsafe conditions. ”
The owner did pay for a night in a nieghboring resort to compensate us for being escorted out by gov officials as they shut the place down, I still can't excuse the dangerous and simply deplorable conditions. There was no bar, food service or any of the usual amenities (soap, towel, etc) As was advertised on the website. The pictures are clearly very old and show the only clean areas. The main house was obviously torn down for rebuild but no work had been done in soo long that the debris and buildingwas covered in growth. The fire extinguishers were rusted beyond recognition and definitely unsafe to use. I was worried about potential explosion. The door to the rooms are too short, leaving a over 3" (inch) gap under that mosquitos, salamanders and rats could easily enter. Neighbors could also see under easily. Bed was damp and black mold was everywhere. No working drains so they just drilled holes through the wall. All the beach chairs were broken and in a pile. Garbage everywhere

Not new or modern but perfectly situated.”
Her's the thing about this place. The facilities are really basic especially if you're used to modern, new chain-type hotels. Our room was very sparse and basic, the bathroom was just shy of camping, but both were clean (and cleaned daily). The real beauty of this place is the location on the beach. It's nestled in lush tropical forest-like setting. There are beautiful palm trees on the beach here, providing natural shade and a secluded feel in the middle of the most popular beach on the island. Even if we return to Phu Quoc and stay at a 5 star resort we would come back to this stretch of beach to swim, eat, drink, and relax.

Great location,value for money”
Nice exotic garden, quiet part of the Beach, bonus with pool/ gym across the Street, and there's a great little juicebar around the corner. Ok beds, mosquitonet and phu Quoc best pillows. Very nice - cleaning staff and staff in general. sometimes a short visit of a friendly gekko if you leave any kind of food in the room. The beach restaurant would definetely benefit from a few english lessons as they tend to misunderstand even basics like hot or cold, Coffe or Tea. Sometimes you even get the wrong dish. They are very nice and always helping you with a smile though. Reception speak english. Will recomend.

Low key easy living in the sand”
Very friendly place, both staff and other guests. Mix of 20 somethings and older people, with several families. Not luxurious, but it shouldn't be when your feet are in the sand all day. Definitely the best place on long beach. Beach front unit was worth the extra dong, but all the units are nice. Cocktails were pretty bad and expensive, but beer was cheap. Food was OK, nightly fish BBQ on the beach was fantastic. Buy your own wine at the little shop on the access road; they'll give you glasses and an ice bucket. Nothing compares to the magic of eating 3 meals a day with your feet in the sand just inches from the water. Pool was huge, warm, well chlorinated, with better cocktails and food delivered poolside. I wouldn't look anywhere else if I were going back, it's the flashpacker ideal. Young staff tries hard, but has no management -- you're on island time -- with that in mind service was pretty good.

Amazing time in a magical little resort on the beach”

Good basic bungalow on the beach ”
Firstly the service here is pretty poor. I asked 2 different staff at 2 different times about a boat trip both said they would get back to me and they did. Our orders at the restaurant were wrong every time. We were impressed with the staff who cleaned our room and the young man at reception he was helpful and friendly. But other than that I Di recommend this place. We stayed right on the beach only metres from the water, ideal for families. The beach here is superb, absolutely stunning. The rooms are basic but perfect for families and clean. No issues here. Eat elsewhere, there's plenty close by and the food and service is great. For the price and proximity to the beach is stay here again.

Perfect little beach spot”
Enjoyed my stay here VERY much. I picked it by walking up and down the beach from my first accommodation on Phu Quoc. There was always people at Viet Thanh enjoying the beach, swimming, eating, drinking and laughing when I went past. I stayed in a non-AC, basic room for 3 nights and then a nicer AC room for another 3. Both were good, the non-AC was probably the best "value" for me, but I was travelling alone and am used to more rudimentary lodgings from past travels. The grounds are nice and very well maintained, the location on the beach is awesome if you like to be in the thick of the action (which I do!), there are tons of good food and drink options all around and Rory's Beach bar is literally 2 minutes away if you want to "go out". There's also some great options just up the street behind the resort, less than 5 minutes walk away. Staff are friendly but professional, I rented a scooter for a couple of days that was reasonable value and ran well. All told, not only would I stay here again, I plan to do so soon! Phu Quoc is a lovely island that is just on the verge of blowing up as a destination, I want to maximize the experience as it is as much as possible before that explosion happens

Good for the price ”
Exactly what a backpacker or light traveler would want! Great service and basic rooms for those not fussy! Had everything you would need, self contained rooms, toilet, shower, fridge, hammock out the front and chair, and 10 second walk to the beach, with other beach resorts near by

Nice location on the beach! ”
....althoug a little bit far from the center (2,7km) Also beach was very rocky! Some of the staff were nice but some were a little bit rude. Stayed at dorm for 4 days and nobody never came clean the room. Also ac was turned on only if dorm has more than 6 people... interner was flawless.

No frills beach front dorm ”
Disclaimer: we were here in the off season so things might be different/better in high season. The location is amazing, right on the beach and next door and down the beach are a lot of (predictably pricey) restaurants. However, they won't turn the airconditioning on unless there are 6 people in the dorm room and it was hot and stuffy because we couldnt open the windows because there were no screens to keep the bugs out. Also our room wasn't very clean, the bed were fine but the floors were a little dirty and there were some dead milipedes around. I would recommend this if you're looking to relax on the beach, do a little swimming and get a tan.

good value for money”
this resort is one of the cheapest directly at the sea. i had a room with a double bed and a bathroom. nice hammock on your own veranda. no airconditioning but that explains the price. also the beach isnt yet converted to a bar/restarant so this is actually one of the few resorts in the row with a decent beach with free (if you are a guest) deckchairs! however, like al the beaches in asia, a lot of garbage and plastic drifts on to the beach, a general problem in the whole of asia. One big downside however was the tour they had arranged for me back to can tho. Normally it should take about 5 hours but this time it took me nearly 12 hours! Better book your own boat and bus (they send me to Ha Tien instead of Rach Gia with the boat so the route over land was almost twice as long opposed to the boat to rach gia. Same story if you go to Ho CHi Minh, also first passes Rach Gia > advice: book the superdong to rach Gia and then take the bus somewhere.)
