More 5 Star than a 4 Star”
My wife and I traveled from Yangon to Ngwe Saung Beach for a four day personal retreat. We live in and travel extensively in Asia and spend many more days in a hotel than at home. Since we travel so often we generally choose mid-range properties but sometimes stay in 5 star or even 2 star hotels. We read the Reviews of hotels to get a sense about the place we are going to stay. Eskala had good reviews, but honestly, this property was one of the best I have stayed at in years. The staff was well trained and it is evident that the management was investing in staff training and more importantly in maintenance and upkeep of the facility. We walked the beach every day and this one had the best maintained beach of all of the beachfront properties in this stretch of beach. We had a small problem with the A/C one evening but the staff immediately worked to resolve the issue. Our respect to Ya Min who had the title of Bellboy but demonstrated excellent management skills in assisting in this. Our stay was in September, Rainy Season, and we expected the food service to be decreased but we found the Food to be excellent. More 5 star than 4 star. Htun Htun Oo and staff did an exemplary Job even though the hotel was not full. Food presentation and timing was first class and the portions were generous. We were also impressed with the Front desk manager Nao Nao Hnin Wai who checked us in and out and assisted us as we were interested in local attractions. The Pool was exceptionally large for a 60 unit property and very well maintained. Overall, the stay exceeded our expectations. Would recommend this property to anyone traveling to this beach.
Luxury at its best!!!”
I had been to Eskala resort, Ngwe Saung last weekend (14-15 Jan 2017). I had done online booking from Agoda.com after going through their websites. As I had never been to this resort and more over since it was an online booking, I was a bit skeptical as to how will the resort turn out to be. I must say "IT EXCEEDED EXPECTATIONS!!!". The location was prime and very well maintained. The rooms were clean and very good. They have a swimming pool and many other indoor activities. The beach is very clean and well maintained. Except the sad part that motorists have ruined the beach beauty. The food served was very good. The breakfast buffet was humongous and had a variety of dishes. You will surely enjoy this buffet, no matter from which part of the world you come from. The dinner buffet was also good and had a variety of seafood dishes. If you are planning for Ngwe Saung and travelling with your family, this resort is the ideal place to be. Although the prices are on a bit higher end, the resort and the service will not leave you disappointed. My best beach trip ever!!!
We stayed three nights at Eskala hotel and it was just right. The staff were really friendly and when there was a burmese group they asked us if everything was all right. They cleaned the rooms twice a day and there was a huge swimming pool overlooking the sea.Unfortunatly the days we went the swimming pool's water was a little cloudy but on our last day they cleaned it and it was clean again. The breakfast buffet was very big and delicious there was a variety of european and asian dishes. We had the garden view at the back and top however we were lucky because from our balcony we could still see the sea and swimming pool. The location was just right as it was an easy walk to the main street at night to go and eat and only a five mins walk so no need to take a taxi at night. It is a good idea to take a torch as there are not many lights however the hotel provides one.If you are lucky you may catch a party on the beach and it is a very nice walk across the beach. You can also take a motorbike ride along the beach.Lastly from were the bus leaves you there is no point to get a taxi as you can walk there and when you arrive at the hotel they offer you a lovely cold towl and a cold drink. The surrounding is very nice and green and you can easily lie down in a hammock and get sprinkled by the fresh water or get a cocktail from the pool bar.I would definitly recommend it.
I was able to get a deal on agoda for the silver garden view room. I felt it was worth the price. Service was top notch. I had an upset stomach and the waiter on the morning crew totally looked after me. The room was well appointed and comfortable. The pool was lovely and the sun beds with the hut like top for shading was perfect. The hotel probably got the best spot on the beach with no rocks and perfect sand. We walked along the beach and saw some of the other resorts and I don't think the other hotels measured up compared to Eskala. The only minor complaint was breakfast, which was plenty but since they start it early sits there a bit. Eggs are made fresh to order.
We were incredibly happy with our stay at Eskala! The resort (lobby, restaurant, pool, beach) is beautiful. The rooms were very nice (clean, spacious) - we stayed in the ocean front villa, which had a great view with the sun setting directly in front. The staff was so nice! Can't say enough good things about them. From the moment we checked in (helping us carry our bags and bringing us orange juice and cold hand towels) to the breakfast/dining service, we were extremely pleased. Everyone spoke English very well, making it very easy to communicate. The food was also very good - the breakfast buffet had all of the standard dishes as other places we'd stay. The lunch/dinner menu was good... it had a variety of dishes and everything we ate was good. The only complaint was that dinner service was a bit slow, but who's in a rush? The resort is pretty close to town (short walk), so if you don't want to eat at the resort (even though I'd recommend it) or want to do some souvenir shopping it's very easy. Ngwe Saung is fairly difficult to get to... a long drive from Yangon. This is the only drawback for us, but the resort overall was well worth the trip. Next time we are in Myanmar, we will definitely be back. Highly recommended to others.
Great resort in Ngwesaung!”
Our stay at Eskala was perfect: initially we wanted to stay for 2 nights, but ended up staying at Eskala for 4 nights. We visited Eskala before high season, and therefore we had the pool to ourselves, which was fantastic. The staff is very friendly, and we had a great time at the resort! The only negative points were the dinner at the resort (50% of the dishes on the menu was not available, and the food we ordered was not very tasty) and the shower (there is not enough hot water to take a normal shower). We would definitely recommend staying at Eskala!
Eskola was perfect for our last 4 nights in Myanmar. The perfect place to chill cause there's not much else to do at Ngwe Saung Beach. The rooms were comfortable, the staff exceptional, the pool and dining areas were beautiful. The photos don't do the hotel justice! Eskala is well maintained and just a short walk into the town. I'd highly recommend a stay here.
Superb location on great beach with friendly staff”
While the accommodation was not cheap, we stayed over the peak Christmas/New Year Season so I could understand it, as the resort was full. That said, the restaurant prices were very good value. We especially enjoyed the "Village Restaurant" with it's local, organic Myanmar cuisine. All vegetables and spices are grown on site at the hotel. The location is fantastic, walking distance to Ngwe Hsaung village and on the best part of the beach. The staff were helpful and friendly. Though we had the lowest category of room (Silver) we still got a sea view as we were on the end of the building, which was an unexpected bonus. If your budget allows, I thoroughly recommend Eskala.
Beautiful hotel on a beautiful beach”
Everything about my weekend at Eskala was wonderful. The room was spacious and clean, the beach was lovely, and the pool was fantastic. The staff was very kind and helpful, and they let me check in early (it was the off-season). I would recommend Eskala to anyone interested in a relaxing weekend in Ngwe Saung.
We spent two nights at the facilites and we got the very satisfying stay. We have quite an extent expericne of staying at the Hotels, but this Hotel Eskala give us the unforgettable hospitality with start ed from front office to lifegurd, kitchen to spa, house to gardening, staffs are frendly polite and customized service. Rooms are clean, conforfortable and quite functional. Always wanted to go back and stay again.
Thank you for your kind comments ! We are glad to hear that you have a great stay at our resorts ! Looking foward to seeing you again soon. Aung, Eskala Hotels and Resorts Ngwe Saung
Wonderful relaxing stay!”
We loved every minute of our stay at Eskala. The location is amazing!! To sit by the pool watching the sun set over the ocean each night was such a highlight! The hotel was very clean and well maintained and the breakfast selection each morning was delicious. The staff were very helpful and friendly each day, even organising an anniversary cake for us. 😊 We especially appreciated Mr Ben who had the patience to give us a few Myanmar language lessons. 😆 We hope to return again soon!
We, total 4 of us stayed at this hotel for our 3D2N trip. Hotel is really a pleasant place to stay & value for money! Rooms are clean, cozy and modern. Staffs are friendly as well. Hotel location is just nice, 3 to 5 minutes drive to the village. We will come back again. Thanks Eskala. ^_^
Secluded beach, well maintained resort, friendly staffs”
Stayed 3day 2nights. Had buffet breakfast on first day, decent spread, western and burmese style. On subsequent day, they only offered set breakfast due some reason, but they tried to accommodate to our requests like salad etc. We were pleased with that. Lunch and Dinner we ate around the town restaurants. All the cuisine were good! we also went to the wholesale seafood place, bought some crabs and prawns and paid a small amount at town restaurants to cook for us. Rooms were super clean. The resort was well maintained. The pool looks fantastic, but i didn’t swim. The sunset was amazing, didn’t know Ngwe saung has such nice dusk and twilight. Perfect place to be if you like quiet, chill atomosphere. Price was considered ex but I guess compared to oversea hotels, it’s justified. Thank you Eskala staffs for your service! will definitely come back.
Great place to stay. Very quiet and secluded. Excellent place to relax and get away. ”
Very good for the price. The best part was the service. The staff are very friendly and ready to cater to you at any moment. We have stayed in Ngwe saung before and this time was a lot better. We definitely will be back again at Eskala.
I had a wonderful stay at Eskala - it was a haven of rest and relaxation after a few days in Yangon. The staff were very attentive and provided great service, the facilities were clean, modern and well maintained, the pool was wonderful and the food was delicious! I would definitely return and recommend to others. I also note that they were very accommodating of our early bus arrival (3 am) and allowed us to check in early.
Unique, beautiful hotel with amazing staff”
We spent 6 nights here, including over New Year's Eve and fell in love with this special hotel. The hotel itself is so innovative, with a beautiful garden that isn't so big but still feels private. The main building that the restaurant and reception are housed in is gorgeous and spacious. The pool is fantastic, especially for children. The beach is absolutely amazing, stretching forever and almost totally clean. But what makes the hotel so special is the staff - they are so professional, so accommodating, so nice and just so positive. We loved every interaction we had with them. The only things that bothered us were that the diesel fumes from the generator were always in the breeze (there is no other power in Ngwe Saung, which makes me think that actually it's not a very sustainable place to visit, but that's a bigger issue), and that the beach was more like a highway than a place to relax. There were scooters, ATVs and horses RACING down the beach at high speed. For a family with a young child, this was scary. The ATVs in particular, which were rented by tourists, scared me because they were then driven by people who didn't have any idea how to drive them. Just one mistake could mean ploughing into someone playing on the beach. The town needs to start cleaning up the beach so it doesn't turn into Thailand - this is a magical and special place.
Best place to stay at ngwe saung beach”
A really relaxing time with a beautiful swimming pool overlooking the beach. Rooms were well maintained and equipped, especially with lots of hot water in the shower. Highly recommended to stay - the price for B&B was really good, much cheaper than the backpackers further down the beach. Staff organised trips, massages at the hotel and the hotel was central to walk into the village one way and down the beach to Love Island the other. Perfect place to top up the suntan and rest before either heading out for travelling around Myanmar or heading for home.
Excellent beach front property”
We went there on 22nd April which was a couple of days after Burmese New Year. The hotel is located very close to the village. It is an excellent beach front property with its own private beach which is rather secluded. There are also many restaurants near by. We had lots of nice seafood at some of the restaurants but didn't get the chance to try all of them. Please try the beach front restaurants along the beach at the evening. They were cheap, fresh and tasty and most importantly, didn't give trouble to our stomachs. The hotel has a huge pool which we thoroughly enjoyed. The buffet breakfast was pretty nice with decent varieties. They have an omelette station and also many types of bread were provided. The rooms were quite large with all the modern amenities. The stay was just perfect and I couldn't find any fault to mention. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
stayed four nights here with my husband. in the rainy season found no diving nor fishing in the town. it was eskala who rescued our holiday otherwise we should have been bored with ngwe saung.
Eskala is your best option in Myanmar for some very relaxing days”
We have had an amazing time at Eskala. The hotel and staff are absolutely amazing. And the sunset the best we've seen in Myanmar.
