Good atmosphere all around
Great resort with 2 pools, comfortable large rooms and great breakfast. Staff are wonderful and friendly. Location is perfect right opposite the beach and walking distance to both Legian and Kuta. Highly recommend
Not value for money, could be better.”
This hotel is in a great location but unfortunately after 30 years it needs an overhaul. The good points: Good comfortable bed and pillows. Clean linen. Lovely friendly staff. Good breakfast with many options alternating daily. Room serviced daily. Good hot water. Very clean common area toilets. Quiet location. Able to use the facilities after checkout and luggage storage before airport pickup. Bad points: Swimming pools were murky with green forming on tiles, never smelt chlorine once in 8 nights. Pool lounges need cleaning and umbrellas need repair. Shower drains were smelly on shower start up. Room 2101 is very very noisy from the upper floor stairs running outside and the staff utility room behind. Pool bar prices are expensive. Two small Bintang Rp 97.000 ( $9.70au). Again the staff were excellent!!
We loved it here would definitely come back.”
I thought the breakfast was good except I had to look around for plates, they weren’t obviously where they should be. Tea and coffee was too far away from where we were having breakfast. There was no one around to help with service.
Very nice location, lovely small resort, very close to beach, and surrounded by lovely restaurants, massage spas.
We loved everything about the hotel and look forward to coming again. Kathy from Australia
Very professional ”
We loved it and we'll be staying here next time we come to Bali.
We loved our stay here and will definitely be back
Disappointed, but ok stay over all”
Staff were good. Breakfast was average could have included more variety including bacon. Rooms were not what we pictured or looked forward to. DO NOT let them charge your card again if it declines on their end for a time out fault ect. We had to wait 10 business for $1000 to go back into our account after it was charged 2x. A massive hit to our holiday budget $2000 out of pocket due to their fault and we got nothing but it takes 10 days to go back in. It was a very disappointing start to our holiday! No compensation nothing, left us pretty stressed and back and forth to our bank during our stay. Not looking forward to our phone bill. Pool was nice, grounds kept clean. No soap was refilled to room over the 7 days.. It was nice but not what we were expecting.
Good value & right on the beach”
Pros- room size was good, comfortable bed Cons- shower was terrible pressure and took ages for hot water, paid $1.20 bucket of ice, only place I’ve every paid for ice. Wifi wasn’t great all the time. What stood out- all staff were very friendly and attentive. Restaurant at front of resort was good. .
Beautiful Balinese boutique resort in the heart of Legian”
The resort is beautiful with lush gorgeous grounds, traditional Balinese style throughout the entire property. The location is perfect as the Kuta beach is directly opposite the front gate, you are within walking distance to many delicious restaurants and the shops are close by. The staff are all lovely and friendly and enjoy sharing their culture with you. The rooms were clean and beautifully decorated, the pool areas were lovely to relax and unwind in, the Resort is amazingly quiet with no street noise. It was a blessing to escape all the loud traffic, city noise as soon as you entered the Resort. Breakfast was delicious the egg station was a hit. I would definitely return with my family and kids, it has a lovely warm ambience about it, and is safe and quiet, peaceful with everything you need, great value for money & right in the heart of Legian.
Resort is a bit aged but comfortable. Breakfast was not huge but more than enough. Csfe out front great. We had a villa which I recomend. 2 pools notvtge largest but ok. Walk out front to the beach with lots of bars for sunset drinks, well worth it. Short walk to Garlic Lane and all the shops. Other wsy to Poppies 2. All in sll great value for money but dont expect 5 star for tge price.
Was disappointed on arrival, we had no water shower didn't work. After a long trip feeling dirty and hot we had to go to bed without a shower. We mentioned it that night and the next day and didn't get a new room till 9.00 the next morning. That's 11hrs after arriving. Always had trouble with card to our room not working. Our safe didn't open at one stage had to get someone to pull it apart.
No bacon New rooms were nice old ones were horrible Family roomsShould be ground floor ”
No bacon as the hotel is halal and couldn’t find anything about that on the website New rooms were nice old ones were horrible Family rooms should be ground floor not the top level with only stairs to access Service/gov tax was pretty high Needs more cocktails
Great location ”
Great little hotel in Legian beach. Friendly staff. Great breakfast and restaurant. My daughter was unwell late one night which required our linen to be changed on our bed. The staff were so prompt sending two people to change the bed. Fantastic service. My only gripe was we were put in a room on the third floor with a 2 year old. There is no lift so it was a bit of a pain getting up and down the stairs with a toddler and pram.
Close to beach which is great and not as big as some of the hotels on that strip. Just away enough from the big shops to be a bit quieter and calmer. But easy walking to bars and restaurants. Only went in the pool by the bar, it was a funny colour and didn’t seem terrible clean. Breakfast was ok, no vegan options or soy milk. The area for me was too busy and full of people getting trollied. What Brits are to Benidorm, Aussies are to Kuta! I felt it had no class or authenticity- could have been anywhere, nothing to make it Indonesian.
From the minute we arrived to the minute we departed we were impressed. Such a nice staff! The villa we gorgeous. We booked because of the outdoor shower and we were not disappointed. We were even surprised with a cake in celebration of our anniversary. We ended up having 2 massages which were so relaxing. We happily recommend this resort.
Second stay in great hotel”
This is our 2nd stay in Alum kulkul and we like the position and the big rooms with romantic bathrooms and 'four poster' type bed. I was disappointed that our return was not recognized. This is poor PR. Also when we finally asked about the lack of bacon and found the breakfast restaurant was halal my husband cracked. Why is it that where most of the tourists are from Australia, Europe or China/Sth Korea etc that a restaurant cannot cater for both. The pools are great, Papa Lemincello is good, the location is wonderful. Shame they cannot cater to the needs of their guests.
Nice place to stay ”
We stayed here for 4 nights, we have two young kids so was ideal, beach is opposite across the rd, swimming pools are good, only downside was acomondation as didn’t have a balcony in a family room so wet clothes had to stay in bathroom. Italian restaurant on site is good so not far to travel for decent food.
Beautiful Boutique Hotel”
Had a lovely 7 nights in a ground floor Alam Lania room right by the back pool. Staff in every area are friendly, helpful and always smiling. Location is good, lovely breakfast and stunning gardens. Great spa service and prices. They make an effort to ensure your comfortable and happy.
