VFM and good location. I highly recommend for business traveler in a standard single room. The room I got has no closet, fridge, bathtub and exhaust fan. It's okay for me though but not a good place to let some friends to visit. I like the food they have for buffet breakfast. This solves my cravings and would recommend it.
Good choice for our requirements”
We stayed only one night but hat to choose this location as it was close to our Embassy. The room was apparently newly renovated and therefor very clean and orderly. We had to ask for the amenities for the room and our request was granted right away. The staff was very friendly. Breakfast ok. All in all it was value for money.
Clean but old”
We chose this hotel because of its convenient location. The room was clean but has old facilities. Breakfast was fine. Overall, it was okay.
The hotel was evidently dated, but the one advantage you have with old hotels is that the rooms are spacious -- which is a plus. Another big plus is that they updated their bathroom (yay for that!). If you just add a hair dryer in the room, then all will be perfect. Still, all in all, everything made for a comfortable stay. Kudos!
Good budget hotel - a bit old though”
Nice location. Friendly staff but the rooms need better soundproofing. There was an event on the ground floor that lasted well beyond midnight and I can clearly hear the host and others in their drunken state screaming like there was no tomorrow. Also, there was a very small roach but I think this can be overlooked.
Great service for a budget hotel”
I have stayed at the Cielito many times and for a budget hotel you get good value for money. The hotel is run down and the rooms are small and mine didn't really have a window BUT it is clean, the staff is very helpful and friendly, the price is good and good wireless internet is in all rooms so I highly recommend it to business travellers on a budget.
The hotel is just 10 minute walk to Greenbelt and Glorietta which are the shopping malls in Makati. Starbucks is just 5 minute walk. There are many banks a few meters away. You can also find some restaurants nearby. There is 7 eleven which just 5 minutes away. Overall, it is a good place to stay.
Friendly staff. Nice location. Great for short stays.
Not a great experience....Air Conditioning unit too noisy and gave me a headache as it pointing in my head. No exhaust fan, no hair dryer. At the dining area.....waitress will ask you several times about your room number.
affordable hotel given the location”
The hotel and its services are not bad. It is also affordable enough given that it is located near a posh commercial district. The room was fairly clean and the toilet looks well maintained. Food is also ok and the staff are nice! It could use a bit of an upgrade/renovation to make it more presentable.
Not sure what was up with the staff but, with a couple of exceptions, it wasn’t a very friendly place. My impression when staff treats guests with that kind of indifference is that managers/owners are probably treating the staff the same. I believe this issue is rooted in the ownership. Easily, the worst staff experience I’ve encountered in the Philippines to date. Check-in attendants were notable in this regard. They are the ones who leave the first and most memorable impression. Kitchen staff was fine. I could tell that even the security guards at the door weren’t even enthused about working there. What’s up?
Friendly hotel conveniently near establishments”
We enjoyed the stay here with the friendly and accommodating hotel staff. The malls, church and other places are very near and public transportation is readily available. Will definitely recommend to others and go there again if needed.
Very good for the money, twin bed was needed on email but not granted said not requested. Very good breakfast food , complete, helpful staff, the man vacuuming the hall even pull my luggage to the front counter down. Thank you for the service. I was going northern area , your location south of international perhaps a little getting closer fo sampaloc is preferred for the bus. My house help have fetch me this the twin.
Good location, needs new A/C”
Stayed here for last night in Manila on a vacation around various PI. Quick drive to/from airport using the skyway. Included breakfast buffet was pretty good. My beef was the horrible a/c sound. When the compressor is on it makes this ridiculous low frequency hum that makes it very hard to get to sleep. If you just use the fan you are sweating. My friend was in another room and had the same problem. My only real knock on this place but it's pretty huge especially when traveling 20 hours next day back to US.
Clean no fuss rooms good for short no frills stay”
Check in and Check was efficient and fast. The room was clean and tidy, a little dated however every thing worked and was comfortable. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is in need of a short overnight or few night stay. It is 5 mins from Greenbelt and Ayala Malls so is in a great position.
good value for money”
although there is nothing special about the hotel to write about the stay was comfortable the staff were friendly .some requests on phone were attended to a bit late after a couple of reminders.there was no refrigerator in the room .on my request this was supplied with an additional charge.
One night stay before meeting”
Had stayed 2 nights in Quezon and spent one night at El cielito only to get closer to meeting place the next day. Slept well but the breakfast is really average... Wifi much better than other hotels. Good for 1 night.
Good location and very good service”
The hotel is affordable for a good location in Makati. It is walking distance to Greenbelt. The staff are friendly and they are very flexible to our needs. We arrived around 4:30AM in the hotel. Our room reservation is not yet available but luckily there is another room and we were able to check-in at 5AM without additional charge. The first room was small but furnished. There was a construction nearby and was very noisy in the morning, so we requested to transfer to our original room reservation. Our 2nd room was very spacious and clean. The next day, our friends needed a place to stay. We were given a discounted charge to add 2 friends in our room. We requested for early check-out at 3AM. We thought we cannot avail the free breakfast, but they prepared our packed breakfast before we leave. Very good service!
very nice looking but small bathrooms”
we stayed for 4 nights.easy to walk to anywhere to eat, and the hotel's food was, at very best, mediocre!nicely furnished and with staff for whom nothing was too much trouble. it looks like the management are doing their best to get the "service" side of the business right (except for the food!) but are being let down by a lack of investment in general upkeep
We really had a nice stay at El Cielito. When I go to Manila I always stay at El Cielito. The place is safe and it have friendly staffs. If you choose to stay here you should eat their cake at their cafe soooo yummmy!
