“Great value for money”
I had a long layover of 17hrs in Bahrain and because there was an earlier flight available to my destination, Gulfair did provide me a with a complementary hotel stay. I considered staying at the hotel within Bahrain airport. But then this deal on Ibis Seef Manama caught my eye. It was much cheaper that the airport hotel and was in Manama city center. This gave me the perfect opportunity to explore Bahrain in a day. It is located right next to Dana mall that has Lulu center. Across the road is Bahrain City Center mall but it needs a taxi ride BHD1.5 to get to the other side of the highway. Walking would take about 30mins to cross the highway at an underpass. The room was good size. Had excellent views of the sea and the buildings across. There's a pool too that I did not visit. I had booked a room with breakfast but realised that my check-in was afternoon and I had to check-out very early for my flight. The very hospitable reception staff kindly arranged a packed breakfast for me for pick-up during check out. Would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay again in future. There is Bus No 41 that connects to Manama Bus Stand and buses A1 and A2 to the airport. Costs 300 fil (BHD0.3) per bus ride (if you swap buses you pay again). There is a GO bus pass that gives BHD0.7 for a unlimited day rides but it requires a BHD7 refundable deposit and is pointless for international travellers as the refund can take weeks.
