Simply the best place to stay at Inle Lake - superb food and staff”
Inle Princess is long established and is of the highest quality. Run with deep connections to the local community the staff are excellent and like family when you stay there. Apart from the location the other absolute highlight is the food. On a recent visit with friends from around Myanmar they declared the best Myanmar/Shan food in the whole of the country. Highly recommended.
Very enjoyable stay at Inle”
We arrived at the hotel after 3 days hike from Kalaw, and it was a very well deserved treat to stay at this hotel for 1 night. We had the chalet on the river side which give a great view of the sunset, outdoor shower is a very good plus. Food is nicely served and the restaurant location on top of the river is really nice. A swimming pool is under construction, just too bad it was not already available as it would have been the cherry on top of the cake.
Perfect place to stay for holidays”
We love everything here, it does make our holidays a perfect one since we arrived to this hotel. Large room , amazing view from our lovely balcony, services and very nice surrounding area of the hotel. Everything's great , we would recommend to anyone who are after a peaceful, tranquil holidays.
Lovely location,friendly staff, good food”
We had a couple of problems. In our room we had some bats nesting which came down on the floor during our stay. The staff tried to get rid of them, but without much success. In all we had 7 bat incidents during the 3 days. It was unfortunate, but despite this, the stay was very pleasant.
Loved every moment at the Inle Princess!”
I can't even say how much I loved this hotel - quirks and all. We booked Private Lake Chalets and I couldn't have been happier with the room (except better AC). We had huge decks overlooking a lotus flower filled pond. Rooms are very large with seating areas, fridge, armoire, huge picture windows, bathroom with boat shaped tub (with a rain shower) and huge outdoor shower. Unlike other reviewers, our bathroom windows did have an opaque film giving us privacy. The outdoor shower area was the bigger than my hotel room in Mandalay! I loved the Burmese cats who rule the lobby and the fact that the staff doesn't shoo them off the chairs, rather they will bring another chair for you to sit on! The gift shop has some lovely things and I'm sorry I didn't spring for the kimono robe that was in the room. I celebrated my 50th birthday here and my conspiring friends and the hotel arranged a little band that appeared after dinner to serenade me with happy birthday and a birthday cake. They also gave me a beautiful gift and card which was a lovely personal touch. Food was delicious! Especially the spring onion tempura things and the avocado salad with Shan rice crackers. I could eat that every day! Chicken curry with coconut milk rice was also ridiculously yummy. My only complaint would be the transfer offered by the hotel is way overpriced and they should encourage you to arrive by boat. They now seem to prefer to bring people in by road and if that is the case they need to spruce up that area as it's a little bit of a let down from what you are expecting. I love that the boats don't run their motors until well away from the resort so it is very quiet and peaceful. I imagine that some of the hotels right on the lake are very noisy.
Beautiful hotel right on the lake”
i was initially skeptical when we arrived by car...and then we walked onto the grounds and this place was stunning. the chalet was very charming. the restaurant served great food in a lovely hall. the bar had a ton of charm. the staff were incredibly friendly and arranged everything we asked of them without trouble.
The canoe trip on the lake at sunset was wonderful. I like that this hotel is a social enterprise. The food was the best we had in Myanmar - authentic, fresh produce from the hotel gardens and very reasonably priced.
heaven on earth”
Absolutely loved my stay here. The room was immaculate, staff was friendly, kind and made us feel so welcomed. The spa was luxurious, and perfect. My only sadness was the partial day trip on the boat to villages seemed more like forced tourist shopping, which I didn't appreciate: we had hoped for more of an authentic visit to the villiages around Lake Inle. Had I known this, I would have just asked for a sight seeing boat trip, and not have stopped.
Inle Princess is a fantastic resort, perfectly placed on Inle Lake. The rooms are huge and beutifully decorated. Great view from the Lake View villas. Food in the restaurant is first class and the staff are so kind and helpful. We had a great stay
So glad we treated ourselves to the Lake View villa. It was so amazing, from the service to the landscaping and atmosphere... we were unsure if we wanted to do it give the expense but I'm so happy we did. Great for couples
The title of the review sums it up. The bungalow was spacious, comfortable with room service twice a day. Complimentary fruit, water, mosquito spray. Tours can be arranged by the front desk and bike rental is also available. The atmosphere at the resort is so quiet. Nothing but the sounds of the nature around you. Because of the bungalows proximity to the water, the boats for tours/airport transfers only start the engines once they're outside of the resort premises. This place is honey moon material, truly!
Superb location and food”
Extraordinary location, great food, perfect place to rest. The only weakness is that the local staff, although very friendly, does not speak English well enough to help the travelers to discover this beautiful region.
Beautifully designed and lansdscaped hotel with great food and staff”
Stayed 4 nights in Lake Villa at end of February. Loved sitting on our deck watching the boats and birdlife. We love our food and wine and enjoyed the quality and the views from the restaurant terrace. Good location to cycle into villages either side of the hotel. Pre booked arrival by taxi and boat which was fun. All staff were efficient and delightful. Only negative, given the high room rate, is that bicycles are charged at around £5 a day - its not the amount but the principle. Also, it would be great if they could provide a couple of ebikes for those less able to cycle. In summary, lovely hotel; choose 2 or 3 nights as a pit stop or 4 to chill out and use the pool.
I had a mountain view and thought it was awesome they turned on the electric blankets before bedtime before you…my views were stunning. The sunset views and quiet from the resort are breathtaking. The service is exceptional. The location is perfect for biking to the nearby vineyard, temples, orphanage, etc. Also, one of the best experiences I had was renting a wooden boat (without motor) and hiring one of the guys to take my for a padre, which ended up at his home meeting his family nearby. They have tons of security on the resort too, which made me feel good and question why though too. 2 days was not enough.
Beautiful hotel on the edge of Lake Inle”
Had a very relaxing few days stay at the Inle Princess Resort. Individual cabins are large and well maintained with outdoor sitting areas that have views over the lake or gardens. Staff are friendly and reasonably efficient, and can handle all your travel and trip arrangements. Not a great deal to do around the hotel, apart from the obligatory boat trip on the lake, but can cycle around nearby villages. In summary a high class establishment in a beautiful location, although naturally all this does not come cheap.
It was a wonderful experience. We truly felt like we were enjoying a piece of paradise. Highly recommend staying..at least 2 nights and possibly more to really enjoy the ambiance. We definitely got high value for our money!
A wonderfully restful stay”
It was wonderful from start to finish. We had a lake front view chalet with outdoor shower. We were close to the boat jetty but there was no noise disturbance as boats are required to enter the resort without use of a power engine. The food and service were very good. The hotel has a handicraft area where guests can try their hand at Shan paper making, pottery, weaving and several other handicrafts. The hotel is a well designed and integrated resort and we would love to return again.
We really enjoyed our short stay and wished we could have stayed longer. It was very peacful and cutting the motors on the boats before entering the hotel area is a nice touch. Only minor point was that for our boat trip the driver we had had no english and it would have been better if the reception could have clearly articulated our preferences to him before we set off. The hertiage house owned by the hotel and is worth stopping off for a drink or lunch. There was a bit of smoke and ash in the air at times when we stayed in early March although nothing the hotel could have done about it. It was not really too troublesome.
Amazing and beautiful hotel and staff”
From the minute at check in to our departure the staff were lovely. We stayed in the lakeview room and it was just beautiful. Had an amazing spa treatment and the restaurant served lovely food. Did not want to leave!
Hotel perfectly situated on Lake Inle”
This hotel is located on the eastern side of Lake Inle a 20 min car trip from the nearest town Nyaungshwe. We stayed in a lake view villa which was well worth it if only for the incredible sunset views over the lake from our villa balcony. Rooms are spacious and well appointed but do not have TVs! They have a charcoal fire which staff will light for you overnight as temperatures drop markedly after sunset; however, this does lead to charcoal fumes in the room which is not ideal; a recommendation would be to take a hot water bottle for those chilly nights on Lake Inle and Kalaw if you are going there too. The property has a very large (we felt quite impersonal) restaurant with good food and the menu was varied with nice choices. Breakfast and evening drinks can be taken outdoors on the terrace overlooking the beautiful lake; tip is to ensure you take strong or effective mosquito repellent for the post sunset period. Staff were very sweet and helpful and we would recommend hiring the hotel bicycles to visit the local area where you can explore a local monastery, orphanage and the Rocky Mountain Vinery.
