Spacious room since there is a free upgrade for anniversary. Staff are nice and happy to enjoy the free coffee in the morning. Outside area of hotel is busy and wet as it is located in the main street of local wet market, but it is not a big problem since I dont have luggage.
I don't know where to start - the staff did not want to do their jobs - getting a welcome or hello was impossible. In fact i came in soaked from the rain with two heavy bags, out of breath and in desperate need of help and was laughed at by the staff then ignored when trying to check in. There was no coffee available, apparently I could help myself to water in the foyer but there wasn't any left and no one wanted to replace it.. The rooms were not like on the website at all, in fact they were tiny - there was no usb ports, no coffee - the the location of the shower was hard to understand and as a result the water from the shower went into the room and the bathroom got almost flooded. The hotel is extremely difficult to find in the midst of a street market that is extremely loud until all hours of the night so if you were hoping to get some sleep, well take a sleeping pill. My stay was so awful that I surrendered the rest of my stay (with no refund available) and had to move.
Good Value for Money”
This being HK the room given was a decent size. The area is walking distance to North Point MTR station, which connects to both the blue and purple lines. There are also buses and light rail transit (ding ding) right outside the main road. We stayed for 3 nights, but the room was not really made each day. We were given a high floor room so it was quiet and peaceful at night. Would stay again.
A few minutes walk to the Major street King’s road, 8min to the Subway station . It’s a street market when you step out of the of the hotel which to me is good , I can see more of the local life and may buy something as well .
Second time, and the last”
The location is great, real Hong Kong. (Nothing like stepping out into an open air market and seeing pigs snouts at the butcher.) Rooms are decent by HK economy standards. Maids are very nice. But the front desk needs to go to charm school. Brusque. Uncaring. Indifferent. No, they would not fix my rattling refrigeration. No, they would not change the accidental dates of my check out. No, they would not call a cab. Horrid people.
Hotel was ok for what you paid. I didn’t like the location in terms of the market felt like a red light district area.. etc. The cleaning lady on 6th floor was really rude never said spoke a word or even a welcome hi since we got here. It was first time to experience a cleaner so rude. Also there are bed bugs!! Caution. The only thing I can say good about the hotel is one of the male staff at reception was incredibly helpful and nice for the entire stay that was the only good memory. Overall if you are on budget or you like urban areas then this place is for you. And if you don’t mind the dirty market streets.
Value for money”
We are always stay at M1 Hotel bec. Of its location, which is accessible to both bus, tram & Mtr. The room is clean , cozy and quiet. There’s the wet market across the street, many foodstuff to buy and eat. We love staying in M1 Hotel.
Nice location and Cozy”
The room is quite cozy where hotel offer bigger room with budgeted amount. In front of the hotel was a wet market where night time will be close. Few minutes walk to north point MTR station and 1 min walk to Tram. Throughout the stay is quite satisfied but the bed isn't clean. I believe there was bed bug where me and wife leg have serious bite by bed bug.
Affordable but location is not great”
Accommodation in Hong Kong is understandably expensive and rooms are small. This was very affordable considering the size of the room. However, I was shocked to find this hotel right in the middle of a wet market. Every morning, walking out of the lift into the lobby, I was greeted by the smell of raw meat as there are a few butchers nearby the hotel. It was not pleasant. The room was not dirty but perhaps not very well maintained - limescale on the bathroom tiles and walls. After a shower, the laminated floorboard outside the shower, near the mini fridge had water leaking out from the floorboard. Despite daily housekeeping, I find long hair strewn across the floor despite none of us having long hair. Overall, I wouldn't say I've enjoyed my stay but that the accommodation was merely just a means to rest at the end of the day.
Good location close to market. ”
It's a small hotel situated just above a market street. Great because just stepping out in the morning you get the hustle and bustle of HK. Close proximity to food and transport. Good. Porridge round the corner.
M1 Hotel - Value for Money”
Got 6 rooms in total for a family affair. Very satisfied with the room. Some rooms are a bit smaller than the rest. I got 1101 which is bigger than some. Ask for a room 01 on whatever floor is available. Place is decent enough, totally different from the area outside which is a typical Chinese wet market.
Very small room”
Outside the hotel wet and dirty, many working grils at night and day, feel not safe
Problem with hot water”
Could not take long shower due to shortage of hot water; took time to wait until water got hot, and still could not take a long shower. By the end of my 150min shower, water started to get cooler. No good at all. Otherwise, location was very convenient.
Tidy, clean, relatively modern hotel a short walk from the underground railway system and even shorter to a tram stop. Like most lower-priced Hong Kong hotels, the rooms are compact, but this worked well, with space for writing desk, enclosed (dry) shower and facilities like fridge, TV, etc. Also, the staff proved very helpful and friendly (unusual in budget hotels in this city). I'd stay here again.
Close to public transport. Good size room but dull. The room needs a bit higher voltage of bulb as their main color in the hotel was charcoal black color. Room was clean. The hotel only supplied one packet of coffee and tea bag each in the room everyday even we were 2 travelers and we only have one selection each. The hotel have a self-serve coffee at the lounge area near the reception for the coffee lover. Overall our experience was good.
Super clean and very helpful staff”
The room and lobby areas were immaculate. The room 205 was much larger than previous experiences. TV has NOWstation which has many programs. Although we were out most days. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would go back.
Convenient and clean”
Though the hotel is situated in an unexpected location within the markets, however it is still convenient and rooms are clean. The room met our expectations, and provides good facilities. Do remember to prepare 500HKD as deposit, which will be returned upon check out. The hotel is a short walk to bus stops which can bring you to and fro airport (i.e A11 and A12). The North Point MTR is a little further down, but still within comfortable walking distance. There are plenty shops and supermarket (Wellcome) which makes the place convenient. Lobby serves water, tea and coffee within stipulated time, which is a bonus for travellers. I would recommend this hotel to other mid-range budget travellers!
great location. despite the hotel being located between a wet market, it didn't affect the to”
great location. despite the hotel being located between a wet market, it didn't affect the stay there. it was convinient to move around. several local food stores were surrounding the hotel which gave me and my mum more choices. 5-7 minutes walk to the north point mtr was also a plus.
Great hotel, especially for Hong Kong”
This hotel is fancy, comfortable and stylish. I was very impressed with my room as it was very spacious, which even some hotels for similar prices in Hong Kong are not. I actually was here for a week for work and not travel, so I really appreciated how comfortable my room was and how well stocked it was, with free coffee, bottles of water, and toiletries. The staff were very helpful and courteous. Right after I checked out, they even found something of mine in my room and notified me right away. The hotel is on a small market street where the tram goes through and is very busy up until 7 pm or so, which means you have a nice, bustling atmosphere during the day and evening, and quiet at night.
OK location, close by all public transportation”
OK location, small hotel, close to all public transportation but the location is right in the wet market, very dirty and wet all the time. bedroom's space is ok, one person is doable, but not the best, you can smell the bathroom even you've closed the bathroom door.
