Bus from Hiroshima station stops in front of the hotel. The price is very reasonable.
The rooms were large and clean with a good sized bathroom/toilet. The staff were friendly and couldn't be more helpful. There is about a 20 minute walk to get to the Peace Memorial and a 3 stop bus ride to Hiroshima Station from a bus stop 2 to 3 minutes from the hotel. All of this at a reasonable price so, highly recommended.
Excellent for everything.”
The location of this hotel is eccellent - a 20 minute stroll along Memorial Boulevard will take you to Memorial Park and all the main sights of Hiroshima. The hotel itself is clean and the rooms are spacious. The staff are friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.
Convenient location and staff were friendly and helpful and provided map of Hiroshima
Great location - near the lit area across the 2 km strip. The room was larger than what an APA was. Overall good experience. Was a little dark but that’s okay for us as we were only there for a day. There was a humidifier in the room also which was unique. Stayed in a double bed room which enough space to walk around the bed. The carpets needed cleaning as it had stains but that’s okay. Also they were super considerate about putting us in a higher floor with a view as a special request. Great customer service.
Great location, excellent quality hotel room, spacious and clean ”
Very comfortable room, big bathroom, great service and easy accessible location, 3 minutes to the meipuru-pu tourist bus stop 11, nice stroll to the peace memorial in under 10mins, about $900 yen taxi ride to hotel from Hiroshima Station. Would come back here again!
Very comfy and I love your original amenities, hair care and bath products. ”
Would like to stay again if I visit Hiroshima-Shi again.
Took a bus from hiroshima station to Oriental hotel. Walking distance to Donki and other attractions.
Awesome location but the room was very hot”
The location of the hotel is excellent! And good value for money as well given the size of the room which is expected in Japan. But what was troublesome was the room was very hot if the heater was turned on because of centralized system. You can only set it to 18 degs which was very hot given it's 6 degs outside. If you turned the heater off there will be no ventilation inside the rooms, so they gave each rooms humidifiers which you had to refill yourself with water every few hours. We booked 2 rooms and 4 of us felt the same way.
high value but lower price”
You need to walk down to the hotel from the tram station for 10 minutes so it is a value hotel with a lower price than others. Service is good and the front deck staff can understand and speak English. The room is clean and good condition. Air-con is working fine. **The road from the tram station to the hotel is quite busy after nightfall. I noticed some prostitution shop on the road but it will not boarder unless you seems to be interested being inside the shop.**
I thought the hotel was more centrally located with access to public transportation. I didn’t understand the bus directions however, so I took a taxi from Hiroshima station. The lobby is really nice and recently renovated. The bedroom was partially redone. The bed was comfortable but it was old and had a built in radio that I could hear playing jazz music sometimes. It made it difficult to fall asleep. It was a nice hotel.
Whilst this is a very nice hotel, we would not stay there again as the room was not only the smallest of our 30 day trip around Japan, it was not functional....it was hard work, and we only have two mid sized travel bags. It had the heaviest, clunky chair, and the room was poorly set up for to be workable for two people. We are now in a small hotel room in Tokyo but the layout works. The hotel itself is very nice but choose another, bigger room. The location is reasonably close to restaurants etc and near the local and loop bus. We walked to the Atomic bomb memorial etc and the main station
Very pleasant with astonishing views”
The hotel is conveniently located close to both the station and city center as well as tourists’ spots like Hijiyama Park, Hiroshima castle or Peace Memorial. All in walking distance. Views from the rooms are outstanding if you get a higher flor. Standard double room is big (for Japanese standard), so is the bathroom. And it is really cheap especially comparing to Tokyo or Osaka prices. Really nothing to complain about even if apart from the view there is also nothing “wow” about it. And you got a smartphone with city map, guide and Internet access in every room for free during your stay (you can take it outside of course). Great value for the price! I intend to come back to Hiroshima for some more time and I’m pretty sure I won’t look for next accommodation much further.
Very rude staff and the breakfast was disgusting. Room was small but very clean and served its purpose but because of the rude reception desk I would not recommend staying here again
Strange design of the bathroom”
The bathroom is partitioned by glass instead of wall. Although there's curtain (which is full of dust)in the bath, it's very inconvenient. One more point, the floor in the room is uneven which has a potential hazard to hurt the feet.
Hotel room came equipped with built in jazz music! Beautiful facilities. Luggage forwarding very painless, staff helped fill out the form quickly.
Staff very friendly.”
Staff very friendly.
Very Good Hotel ”
Very good room, clean and comfy
Business hotel in a good location”
This hotel was quite nice... and a great location about 1 km from the Peace Park but right on the edge of the nightlife/shopping/restaurant area. There's a small local onsen right behind the hotel too, which I took advantage of a few times. Wifi in the room was good as well.
Good New Hotel Design”
The hotel is central in Hiroshima but it is advised if you want to visit other attractions, it is better to stay near the train station which is 10 minutes away from the hotel. You would save time and taxi fares which can be an added cost to your hotel charges. But i enjoyed the new year countdown and the hotel's generosity on providing Soba Noodles and Champagne to celebrate New Year 2014
good and clean”
about a 20 min walk from the JR station or you can take a taxi. located in a quite avenue but just few blocks away from the lively center of the city and a short walk from "ground zero" and memorial park. The hotel is nice and clean and has a large lobby, but not much to do for us plus we rather be outside.
Great hotel, a bit far from Peace Plaza.”
Oriental Plaza Hotel was a nice, well appointed hotel. It is a bit far from the streetcar stop - it would have been easier to take a taxi from the train station. We ended up taking a taxi to Peace Park as well, as it was a good distance away. There is a laundromat located right next door -very convenient. Near Chuo Dori and many shops and restaurants. Free internet in lobby.
Oriental Hotel Hiroshima”
The hotel is loacted in the heart of Hiroshima city. It is not difficult to find once you get off the street car traveling from Hiroshima JR station. It has a good service and friendly staffs who can speak English. The room is clean and definitely worth the money you've spent.
Great Deal albeit small room”
After spending quite some time in guest houses and hostels this was a treat for us for a three-night-stay. Albeit the room was very small it was a luxury for us to have our private bathroom, a comfy mattress, a great view over Hiroshima, and being in walking distance to great eateries and Hiroshima’s sights. Really appreciated the possibility of waking up and having a cup of tea in the room before heading out exploring and discovering the city and it’s surroundings.
A great hotel - would highly recommend!”
Our room was spacious - we had two bathrooms in our room - which were an added bonus! Hotel staff friendly and most helpful. Breakfast provided a variety of local and international cuisine. Guest lounge supplied free tea and coffee aand cold drinks and was available whenever needed. Excellent value and awould certainly recommend. Thank you!!
Classy yet affordable”
Everything is nice including the lobby, staff, cleanliness, amenities. But room is alittle small, quite typical of Ja pan hotels, difficulties if you have big luggages. A short walk to nearby shopping district. Along the way, there are many eating places. Airport shuttle available at bus stop in front of hotel.
Big room ”
I booked executive twin room which is spacious for a couple with two children. They provide free beer and water in the fridge. They have own car park which need 1500 yen per day. But, they don’t have self service laundry machine. The location is little bit far away from main shopping areas, such as Sogo, Pacela, underground shopping street-Shareo and Hiroshima station. The most nearby shopping centre is Fuji grand which need to walk 5 - 10 minutes.
Great location and nice, clean rooms”
Even though our Agoda booking was for 3 people, when we checked in we were told that there was only 1 bed in the room and had to pay extra to upgrade to a room with 2 beds. So, make sure you have the # of beds correct while booking.
There are lots of eateries near the hotel. Hondori is a short walk from the hotel. There are is a bus stop across the road from the hotel to board airport limousine bus to the airport. However is only limited to 3 timings in the morning for airport limousine. We stayed in the Grande Twin room, a very good size of 30sqm which is considered big for Japan hotels. The room fits nicely for us, a family of 4. Water was leaking from the bathtub which caused the bathroom floor to be wet. Room cleaning was good. Overall, it was a very good stay in terms of value for money and location.
Business Hotel, accessible to most areas”
Pros - bus stop located opp hotel brings you directly to Hiroshima Stn/ bus centre loop service 101 and 102, very convenient. Walking distance abt 10mins to hondori shopping street and many restaurants. Walkable distance to most major sightseeings. Many good restaurants/ family Mary’s/ 7 eleven/ Lawson found along the hotel vicinity. Fuji shopping mall and supermarket located across the 2 road junctions. Cons - Small room but sufficient amenities. Opt for 2 single bed instead of double queen size as cannot fit 2 adults and 2 children in it. Buffet breakfast/ dinner are pricey. Need to walk out to major road junction to take streetcar. Not an issue for us as we hop on and off on bus to the streetcar stops.
The location is good as it is close to the entertainment area, shopping, and a 15 minute walk from the bus station. The staff were friendly, but their English level is low for a hotel of this ranking. Only one English speaking TV station (BBS).
The room was suck:/ it looks like not a hotel so dusty and stinky:(”
Im so disappointed.,
Nice hotel, recommend including the breakfast package with the room.
Great location, very close to public transport (bus stop in front of the hotel). Walking distance from Hiroshima main attractions.
Beautiful Hotel close to everything”
Last minute stay loved it
A nice room with basic amenities provided. Location is quite far from the station, about 20mins walk from Hiroshima station.
Super Central, nice vier and staff.”
The bed and shower where just perfect, room was spacious and clean and had a great view. What else could one need? Thank you.
Rooms were a good size by Japanese standards. Hotel staff were wonderful.
Walking distance to all the sights in Hiroshima. Rooms are a bit small for the price.
Clean and value for money ”
Accessible by bus 101 or 102 from the Hiroshima train station, Oriental Hotel Hiroshima is close enough to get around. It is about 15-20mins walking distance from the key attractions. They also had this nifty gadget in the room that had Google maps and key recommendations to bring around with you. I had data but could be useful for those that do not initially. SIM cards are not easy to find in the area and not available at Hiroshima airport. We ended up getting from BIC camera.
Was a little walk from the train station, and a skip to food (although food is everywhere in Japan! :) )We loved Hiroshima!
everything is good. it's just that if someone enters and closes the door from the next room, it sounds like someone is opening the door to our room
Friendly and helpful staff.
Convenitent go to visit travel sight
Poor air conditioner
Great stay ”
Location is good and walkable to The Dome and shopping arcade. Service was great and exceed my expectations. Recommend.
Very nice property ”
My room is getting near a refresh but the room was fine for my brief stay. I’d go there again.
Good service with reasonable prices!”
Good service with reasonable prices!
Large room, variable for self driving trip. The English of staff is not good, communication would be a problem for the stay. Convenience shops is nearby.
Probably it's because Hiroshima is a small city, but I get easy access to wherever touristy places Hiroshima has to offer. Its room is also quite spacious and we get complete amenities.
Comfortable stay ”
The hotel was comfortable - beds, baths and the staff was very welcoming. It felt more like a business hotel. They don’t get too many backpackers like us. It was probably one of the more refined spaces we have stayed in. We booked a small room but when we checked in they had the option to upgrade to a bigger room so we did we got the 2 double with more space. It only cost ¥1000 JPY for the upgrade. We should have extended our stay there as the next place we stayed was not as impressive. We had to take a taxi to and from the Hiroshima station, but the hotel was walkable to the downtown area specifically the Okonomi-mura and the Peace park. Hiroshima is such a peaceful town I wish I stayed a little bit more time to enjoy.
Amazing value for money ”
The location is fab for the peace park, the price is unbeatable and the staff are just so kind and polite. We were really pleased with our stay here. Super comfy bed also. I would definitely stay again.
A straight walk to the Peace Park and Museum; lots of great restaurants in a walkable distance; about 8 minute walk to the streetcar and the Sightseeing Loop Bus (free for JR Pass holders); bathrooms are outdated but we were only there for one night so not a big deal
Great hotel, weird bathroom”
We had a great time in this hotel. The staff was great and the hotel itself was very nice. Parking was kind of a pain because the lot was full one day and we had to walk to the next closest parking garage. The bathroom was very clean and there was huge bathtub. However, one of the bathroom’s walls was a window facing back into the room. There were blinds blocking the window but the shower curtain only covered a small fraction of the bathtub and water got all over the place when we showered. It ended up being ok, it was just a really weird design.
The Standard Double Room was too small”
The Standard double room was too for 2 adults and one 3 years baby ! Air conditioning was out of service , we can't even breathe in the tiny room and hair dryer didn't work , we have to go to the front desk asking for help !
Pleasant Last Minute Booking”
We booked this hotel last minute for one night stay. The price was definitely good value for the room we got. Everything was clean, modern and the bathroom was standard Japanese size but not too small. We were on the 10th floor and it did get really hot in the morning when the sun was out and the aircon was not overly strong. This didn’t bother us too much though since we only stayed one night. Overall I would stay here again and also recommend this hotel.
Great value hotel ”
We booked in a double bed room and were put on the 19th floor overlooking Hiroshima, for a very cheap price. Rooms were well appointed and the hotel is located just next to the downtown entertainment area but is a bit awkward to easily get to and from major tourist attractions - though even then it's a 10-15min walk to the Peace Park
Thank you very much for your stay with us and taking the time to post review. We hope you come back again at Hiroshima.
Large Business Type Hotel in Central Hiroshima”
Situated on the Peace Boulevard the hotel is a 20 minute walk from the train station and similar distance to the Peace Park. Rather characterless in appearance both internally and externally although plenty of facilities for both business people and tourists. The hotel may have been recently refurbished. My room was large, extremely clean with comfortable bed and large bathroom and bath. Facilities in room good. Wifi excellent and views from 21st floor excellent. Would recommend the hotel for its location and for those who like large business type hotels but not for those who prefer a bit more character.
Good location, great service”
The hotel is easy to find, walking distance from the major attractions and shopping areas and in a beautiful part of the city. The only slight downfall of this hotel was the lack of wifi. I would stay here again, wifi or not, but including wifi would have made the stay perfect.
Fantastic location, great views, nice room decor”
Superb location, right on the Peace Boulevard. The room was larger than the average Japan hotel. Very helpful English speaking staff. The view from the higher floors over the city and the hills beyond is breathtaking. Very reasonably priced. Would go there again without hesitation.
Great location and aesthetics.”
Overall, the Oriental Hotel was good value for its price. We were able to walk most places we wanted to go (Peace Park, Atomic Bomb Museum, Hondori shopping street), and take taxis if we needed to go farther. We didn't use the hotel's bar or restaurant, but it's situated very close to lots of nightlife and restaurant options. There's even a convenience store right behind it, and a liquor store down the street. Our room was small and the bathroom was tiny, but that's pretty normal in Japan. Most of the hotel is quite nicely decorated and has a modern feel. The bed was comfortable, no problems with the air conditioning.
We really liked this hotel. It's on walking distance if you've taken a bus to the street with your suitcases or backpacks. It's really close to the memorials of Hiroshima and it's a good hotel with good beds, nice and friendly staff and very clean and comfortable rooms.
Good location, Nice rooms, Business hotel”
This is a very nice hotel in a reasonable location, right near the main shopping area and around a 10-15 min walk to the Peace memorial park. However it was a very business focused hotel so you will not get the personal service that I came to love with other Japanese hotels. This being said the staff were all very helpful and spoke reasonable english. The breakfast was nice, both western and japanese options. Rooms were a reasonable size for Japan and very clean. Views out over the city. A nice hotel but would probably try somewhere different next time.
Great Value and Location”
I had an excellent stay at the Oriental in Hiroshima. The staff is extremely service-oriented, this even by the high standards of Japan. The room was very comfortable. Te locations is fantastic. The breakfast buffet is abundant and at a decent cost. Overall, this is a great value-for-money hotel.
Beautiful Hotel on Peace Memorial Street”
While the hotel isn't particularly close to the Train Station (take the No.50 bus - don't walk!) there's nothing near the Station other than the Baseball Stadium (but I recommend you see a baseball game, it was brilliant and I'm not even a fan of baseball!) so you're better off staying near the Peace Memorial Museum and the Oriental Hotel Hiroshima is both close to this and the town, making it an ideal place to stay!
Me and my girlfriend stayed here just for a night and soon as we walked into the room, we were greeted with this great view of hiroshima. Trying to think of anything i didn't like but can't think of any :)
Small room but great service”
Staff spoke little English, but it was more than enough to get me checked into my room smoothly. They also had discounted passes available for the restaurant jazz event that was happening that night. The ambiance of the hotel was very nice and I enjoyed my stay there. The bed also had a foot warmer, which was good because it rained before I got back to my hotel for the evening.
Luxurious looking hotel”
We stayed here for a night for sightseeing. Hotel is located along the 'main boulevard' about 15 mins walk from the station. It's about 10 min walking to the island with the Hirsohima dome and memorial. Hotel has a modern interior and features several restaurant and a hotel bar. Rooms was pretty average/well maintained/modern interior as most hotels in these price range goes.
Modern hotel that didn't let us down”
this hotel is situated right on peace boulevard, maybe a twenty minute walk from hiroshima station, or an easy taxi ride. the hotel was very professional, and it would have been tempting to spend a lot of time just enjoying the lobby if we'd stayed longer.
