Spacious rooms, central Vung Tau downtown”
Beautiful hotel at center of Vungtau where you can walk to visit many landmarks of the city. Local restaurants are nearby also. Hotel rooms are well maintained and staff are friendly and helpful. Thank you! Will stay here if going to Vungtau.
good hotel, but don't allow them to do your laundry”
very good hotel - i will return two problems encountered: - hotel had no area map and could not recommend how or where to acquire one - hotel charged triple the normal laundry rate and was very discouraging when our clothes were returned still dirty and smelly
I had been there for 2 nights and everything was really good. Quickly check-in and check-out. However, maybe they don't have staff who can assist to bring some stuff for us and they ask me to come down to get it. Besides, wi-fi was not really good. Food was good and the staff was friendly as well.
Great Location for Muslim Visitors”
Good location, taxis know the place. The restaurant claims it is Halal, and I haven't seen evidence to prove otherwise. The hotel itself is charming, the white marble and grand sweeps bring a touch of nostalgia.
Nice standard hotel.”
This is the third time I'm staying at Petro House. I feel this is a standard hotel for business travellers given the price for a standard room. Bed is big, bathroom is relatively new. Everything is clean. Breakfast variety isn't much, but no complaints.
Nice design hotel”
I came here on a short bussiness trip to Vung Tau. The hotel location is not too far from the seaside (can walk). Also it near to the city center so it's very convinient for business travel. Hotel room are very big with nice design. Nice breakfast and friendly staffs.
Nice hotel in old style”
Hotel is nice with good location, - hotel staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is however not good. - it is actually terrible what they serve. I stayed in a very big suite with all that comes with that, - it was very good value for money
Clean hotel ”
Clean and big room. Good sound proofing. Very comfortable for both business and pleasure traveler. The Malaysian Restaurant at the Lobby is a delight. Serving halal food at a very reasonable price. The also house a small Casino at the Lobby.
Iconic Hotel that gives a Great Sense of History”
I really liked my stay at the Petro as it offered an old-world feel to Vung Tau despite being a distance from the beach compared to the other hotels, but only a little bit more. Breakfast is not buffet-type which was a welcome break as you get served either indoors or at the verandah that looks out into the street. If you have it early in the morning (before 7:30AM), the street will be quiet but with enough activity to transport you in time. As this is an old hotel, expect the cracks to be showing, the maintenance of wall and ceiling paint to not be up to par, for tv sets to be the box-type with poor reception.
Overall experience of me was satisfied. The room was clean, cozy and quiet. Friendly staff and house keeping service was good. The bath tub was small but are great additional consider the price. A bit poor wifi network during the stay. Very convenient for traveling around, just 5 min of walk to the beach.
Excellent Staff - very helpful”
I have stayed at this hotel many times - they serve early breakfast if required. Huge room !!!
Value for money, excellent staff and location. It's only about 200 metres close to the beach.”
I book this hotel everytime my family go to Vung Tau for weekend relaxation. I love this hotel because of its honest pricing policy without marking up the price although it's peak or off-peak season. The staffs is very friendly, too.
Spacious room but old, and cleaning staff needs improvement”
room is spacious, but our first night was quite disappointing because the shower switching mechanism was spoiled, and assigned a low floor room even though I have indicated that I'd want a higher floor room. The staff in charge of room cleaning didn't do a good job for the bathroom; we had to inform reception to refill the shampoo and shower gels. Location is not very convenient for nearby places for food such as the night market or pubs/bars, but its near the beach and walk-able distance.
Love staying here - 2 times: 1 company trip & 1 personal vacation”
The staff is very nice from the front desk to clean ladies. I went here 2 times and absolutely pleased with them. They also upgraded from deluxe to deluxe suit for me. The 1st time (company trip) my colleagues got the executive room without paying any extra money. Although the hotel is quite far from the back beach of Vung Tau but we enjoyed good service.
Good but need renovation. Tốt nhưng cần sửa chữa.”
The place is nice, I like the decor, it's vintage. But the hotel need a renovation if they want to still 3* hotel. The breakfast is so so for me. As a Vietnamese I think this price is worth.
good service, value for money”
very nice room, good bed, pilows, perfect A/C, staff at the front desk was very helpful in arrangement late c/o, also the security staff when we checked in, we had no idea where to park our motorbike until his assistance came to us. the house keeping was also very fast to send us new towers. staff didnt wear nametag therefore we could not know their names. will definitely come back the hotel.
Lovely hotel right in town”
Staff were efficient & courteous. Located right in town near Front Beach; traffic noise was insignificant and there are food options in town within walking distance. If you are into the beach scene, you would do better choosing a place at Back Beach. The breakfast spread is decent but location could be better ventilated; we encountered some mosquitoes there as well. The hotel facade looks colonial and there's a grand central staircase to access the second & third floor. The public areas may seem dark but the rooms are bright & spacious. We were concerned of noise from the in-house casino but got allocated a room far from the casino and noise wasn't an issue. The only let-down was the cancellation of the weekend buffet due to wet weather; this should have been communicated to guests earlier or better yet, planned so that weather does not impact it too much in the future.
The hotel is on average level”
Generally, my opinion for this hotel is on average level for the money. What i really not like is they do not have their owned parking place. The hotel is renting the back yard of the local police station and using it as a parking place for hotel guests. The parking yard is not undercover. Thus, the car is well heated under the sunshine. In addition, if you are driving a sedan, not a SUV, the lower rail of the car will be hitting the pavement / sidewalk every times and I hate it!
Good restaurant ”
It was a good distance to the venue I had some work at . There are good nice Malaysia and Chinese food, however it can be limited. Local food can be found nearby if you are willing to take a walk around. Room was comfortable. Though a bit old but place is quite well maintained. Staff can communicate in English fairly well but they practised only a single key system which can be frustrating if you are sharing the room. There is a electronics casino if you want some entertainment , however please practise prudence in playing.
Good location & service”
The hotel was a bit old but well-maintained. Really appreciated the staff, from bell boys to receptionists. They helped manage me and my friend to get a van back to Ho Chi Minh City with a professional driver unlike the way from Ho Chi Minh, Mien Dong Station, to Vung Tau which took 1 hour slower and a very terrible driver. I would recommend the hotel staff catch a van back to Ho Chi Minh. The room was good, every thing is good except curtain which could not perfectly be closed especially when my room could be seen from the hall way. I recommend having hair clips with you in order to solve this problem as my friend's room faced the same situation. A hair clip can easily be a hero when accommodating in this hotel. Well, in overall, the hotel is good with very helpful staff. Only an improvement required is that to fix all curtains.
