Good location, okayish rooms, bad air conditioning”
In general, most Japanese hotels come with a hefty price tag but the quality offered in return isnt of the same standards. And Sapporo Prince Hotel is no exception to that rule. Location: Its located right next to Odori Park and with short walks you find yourself in centre of all attractions, the markets, etc. Check-in and check-out experience: smooth and seamless, I was in my room within 5 mins. Space: I had a deluxe room and the room size it indicated that it was rather a starter level room Smell: We are allocated a smoking-room despite of non-smoking room booking because the hotel had failed to allocated our room to other guests Heat: This was just terrible. The Air-conditioning was set to TOO HOT in the room. I switched it off, opened the air ventilator, started the humidifier and the room was still unbearable. The heat was so bad, that we couldnt even sleep in the room. It almost felt like summer with 30-35degrees, completely dry atmosphere. Will I go there again? NO.
Value for money, excellent service and high asscessbility for location”
Polite and outstanding performance of staff. Tidy and nice staff~ Value for money
The room is a bit small. There is an Airport limousine bus to the hotel. The hotel is clean. The bathroom has a bathtub and bigger than a normal bathroom in japan. Breakfast is good and lots of choices. They have laundry area. There is a convenience store just outside the hotel. The staff can speak English and they helped us to check bus timing and where to take a bus going to Niseko since we missed the early morning bus from the hotel going directly to niseko.
My family like this hotel. Situated not far from Odori station, easy to go everywhere, the staffs were very polite. We felt welcomed. The hotel is very well maintained and good value of money. I will recommend this hotel to my friends.
Good Location near subway Nishi 11 Chome for 3-5 minutes walk and its located in the center of the attractions. Room is spacious with toilet facilities (but no shower cap) There are 2 restaurants for breakfast, one on the first floor with the variety of food for both of Japanese Food and Western Food. The another is on the 2 nd floor which is smaller and less than the first floor. From Hotel to the airport, there is a shuttle bus service at the back of the hotel souvenir shop with the cost as 1,030 yen / person. (but will finish before noon) There is a counter service for TOYOTA car rental at the hotel , next to the reception desk.
great hotel, poor service”
We stayed a total of 5 nights, reception staff told us they cannot help to book any tours or buses to snow. I also wanted to order a delivery to the hotel and was told by reception that they cannot help me. All the other staff were great. Buffet was above average but very expensive. theres a buffet at the mall above sapporo station that was much better.
Great hotel, very clean, great staff and great view.”
Great hotel, very clean and staff very hospitable. Practically next to Odori Park. Staff undertands English and go out of way to accommodate you. Will recommend to anyone visiting Sapporo for business or leisure. Will stay again!
Great. Comfortable beds. Staff was kind enough to let me view the room before upgrade. Decided not to upgrade as it was just nice for me and my mum, knowing japan hotels has small rooms. Room necessities were fully complete and this is a big plus. Close to subway and convenience store and also the streetcar. Has a hot spring in the hotel. Satisfied, will stay again. :)
It's a great hotel. Walking distance from the hotel to Susukino entertainment street. Hotel room is big and comfortable. Good breakfast buffet. Hotel staff is very helpful in providing information on the transport n tourist spots around Sapporo city.
My friend and I stayed here last December for only one night but still I can say that it’s so nice staying here. Walking distance to the Odori Park. The staff are also nice. Room is very clean. Will stay here again when I come back.
This is an old tired hotel in need of a makeover. We got an upgrade which was nice but the original room was tiny and very dated. Staff were pleasant but most spoke no English at all. This is not Tokyo.
one of the tallest building in sapporo”
Big room, Big bathroom, Nice breakfast with live stations, good proper car park
Tired and lacking in service - not how I remember the Prince Hotel. ”
Stayed here for four nights for the 2019 Sapporo Snow Festival. This is definitely not how I remember the Prince Hotels. We travel to Japan annually and have stayed in many properties. This was the poorest. This hotel is tired and badly needs to be upgraded. The rooms are cramped, towels are rough, beds and pillows are hard as rocks, and the toilet smells like sewer. The service is also generally lacking and is difficult for communicating if you are non-Japanese speaking. Our room included daily breakfast, but when my wife became terribly sick and unable to get out of bed, they would not let me take her breakfast from the restaurant even though we paid extra for it. As a Japanese American, I found this oddly very uncaring and un-Japanese. The buffet breakfast is also not too good, although the Japanese set breakfast in the Chinese restaurant (2nd floor) was pretty good. The location is three blocks to Odori park and subway, but there are no nearby restaurants. Would not book again.
Disappointed for shuttle service”
We are totally 8 people staying at Prince Sapporo Hotel on 19 Dec. for 1 night. We took the shuttle at JR station to the hotel without any problem. When we check-in, we are not informed that we need to get a shuttle coupon if we we want take the shuttle from the hotel to JR station. When we check-out the next day, we asked a staff where to take the shuttle, he just told us the location but didn't tell us to get the shuttle coupon. We were the first to queue up and waiting for 20 mins under cold temperature. When the shuttle came, the driver asked us the coupon and told us to get it at the reception. His attitude was not pleasant. Finally we got only 3 coupons and five people cannot get on the shuttle. We are really disappointed.
Location is a little far from JR station, but near the shopping area.
Hotel staffs not accommodating to guest requests and majority of the staffs cannot uderstand simple English. Not much of facilities and the hot spring basically a hot pool without view.
Upon arrival, we were greeted by staff at the door which assisted us with parking/check in procedures and baggage. Very clean and well maintained hotel. Although the room was small, it was well-equipped. Our only complain is that the room heating system for the winter is too hot even after we change the temperature to 18 degree. There is a nob at the window to all air movement from outside however still not enough cold air from the window. We ended up having little clothes yet perspiring over the night.
Nice hotel with friendly staff”
Although this hotel is not near any JR or train station (you will need to change train services although is it just two stops from Sapporo station), the facilities and staff attitude were very good. We left our bags two days before check-in as we were going to another location and staff was happy for us to leave our bags there, save us the trouble of bring too many bags around. There is a 100 Yen shop just opposite the hotel and about 10 to 15 minutes walk (snow condition) to Tanukikoji 7 shopping area. The onsen is good but we need to pay a small fee to use it (about 500 Yen pp).
The staff at the concierge was really kind to bring us to the bus stop to catch our bus. If not for him, we might have missed our tour bus. The staff at the front desk don't really know English and it's kinda hard to communicate as we don't understand Japanese but they are still friendly.
Great location to explore to city”
Great location. 5mins walk to Subway station 西11丁目 and Odori Park 大通公園. Outside has the public bus to airport (100mins) but the last one is 11:30am. It has 100yen shop nearby. The room is clean, tidy and bright. Suggest provide the notification in advance that the guest cannot wear the bath robe to the onsen.
Pleasant and comfortable ”
You will get a bigger-than-average room size here that can fit a full-sized closet, vanity, and you can walk around easily. Apart from normal facilities you can find elsewhere, there's also tea bags and boiling machine for you to zip and enjoy a beautiful view after a long day. The bathroom and bathtub are quite large. The hospitality of the staffs here are extraordinarily. The location was a bit far from JR station but about 1.5 blocks to subway station. And from here you can walk to odori park and susukino very easily. There's also a variety of souvenirs selling at a the ground floor if you want. So overall this place is very satisfactory.
Far from the action - pain to go back and forth ”
I didn't realise that the standard room would be so small. The room didn't feel v clean even though it was neat. The location was not great either. It is quite a walk from the city center although you could technically walk but it isn't one of those places you could walk around town then return for a coffee to go out again. There is a Sunway station about 2-3 blocks down. Not fun walk when it was cold. Especially when you had spent a whole day out the last thing you want is to have to walk another 3 blocks back to the hotel from the station. The hotel is in a circular block so there is a chance you might have your view blocked by the building next door. The poor cleaning staff looked miserable every time we passed by. There is a convenient luggage delivery desk in the lobby and for about 800¥ you can send your luggage to the airport ahead of you. Be warned if you are planning to take the airport shuttle to the hotel - it us a looooong ride before you get to the Prince because the shuttle has to visit a lot if other 'subjects' first throughout the 'kingdom' after it reaches the city center. It took us another 30 mins to get to the hotel after we entered the city. It was frustrating. If you don't have a lot of luggage you might just want to take the train in from Chitose and stop at Sapporo Station, then cab to the hotel. It'd cost you about ¥1200 for the cab. If you're with a friend / friends you can buy a discounted strip of 4 shuttle bus tickets for ¥3780 - 4 one-way or 3 returns. One way on the shuttle is ¥1030(?). Check- the return shuttle to Chitose only runs till midday.
Not a bad hotel at all”
1. When we arrive at 9pm (drive), Car was parked right in front of the entrance, one staff at the lobby saw us unloading baggages but no bell boy came to help. 2. Staff can speak good english so if we need help, it is easy to get to, staff are friendly and polite too. 3. Hotel can provide hot spring but you need to pay. 4. Food are standard but restaurants are easy to locate. 5. Parking rate seems standard and fixed, 1500 yen for guess from the date we check-in to the date we check-out. 6. Bed and pillow are not very comfortable. Not bad but not comfortable. 7. Nice view to the city from windows but room is small. Struggled to find space for our luggages.
Not so good, the hotel room is small no place for ”
Not so good, the hotel room is small no place for luggage. Hotel staff not friendly never give any heping hand to the senior tourist. Few staff standing infornt at the reception never give direction where is the hotel lift. is the most unfriendly hotel during the trip to Hokkaido.
2 entrance at this hotel”
We love Our stay here. Staffs are really helpful. But you really need to ask them everything. We didn't know there were 2entrance. If u need to catch a bus to other places like ski resort during your stay there, make sure u wait for the bus at the West gate. We waited at the main gate instead. We missed and saw our bus drove off 20meters away by the time we found out. The lady staff from the front desk ran all the way to the next street to try to catch the bus for us. But unfortunately noone notice her. After that, she called the bus co n arranged someone to come in private car to pick n sent us up to the mountain. We are touched n grateful by her help which you don't need to tell them what to do next. They are very well informative if u ask them how to get around. It's better for you to let them know your itenery or u expecting a bus or anything before hand.Convenient store and restaurants are just opposite and beside the hotel. 10mins walk to the the main district/park/shopping area. We loves to walk and look around so the distance are not a problem to us at all. They have an affordable Onsen(hot bath) in the hotel and restaurant that is always packed with ppl. Too bad we didn't try both because we hv tattoo and also on tight schedule to try the food. Tattoo are not allowed in Onsen/public Onsen. We have to pay for a private Onsen elsewhere.
A good Hotel but Staffs were a bit rude”
The hotel is a 15min walk from where the buzz and hustle of the city. Though it's far, the value for money was good for a 4 star hotel. Try to understand their instruction for the Parking, as you may end up paying a lot. The hotel staffs were a bit rude and know basic to zero English. Still I would come back to this hotel whenever I get a chance to visit Hokkaido again.
Value for money”
The hotel located near the subway station. In fact it is easy to walk from here to many good restaurants and the tourist attactions. We took taxi from the Saporro station to the hotel and reached here in about 10 minutes. The staff are very helpful and friendly though they are not very well verse in English. The room were so clean and bright and has a view over a ski resort. The onsen was good but we need to pay for it. We like this hotel very much and will definitely come back again.
Sapporo Prince is a beautiful hotel. It has its own hot spring spa (which is a famous recreational activity in the Sapporo area). The views from any room are magnificent. Because it is a circular shaped building, you are guaranteed a great view no matter where your room will be facing since the city of Sapporo is spectacularly backdropped by snow capped mountains! the staff are very helpful from check-in, to tour reservation help and guidance, all the way to check-out. Free wifi and UCC coffee are nice add on touches for the guest. The only knock is its a bit far from the Tanuki Koji shopping arcade and Susukino where most of life happens in Sapporo. But considering Sapporo is a small city which you can basically walk around easily, this is a minor concern.
The lobby was quite grand and clean, with a souvenir shop on the 1st floor. The hotel also provided a umbrella lock service at the lobby enterance. The staff could speak a little of English, and the rooms are comfy, clean and well equipped. Comes with a humdifier (stayed during winter time), and the views of the city was lovely.
Good and wonderful”
Near the Shopping street ‘Tanukikoji’ and Ramen Street. Wonderful breakfast.
Happy and relaxing place”
Room quality, hot spring, staff service, food and circumstance~ all good and wonderfull for us. We are going to go there again. Thanks a lot.
Great location within walking distance takukinoji n susukino”
Nice buffet...friendly staff
Has shuttle bus from Hotel to Sapporo station . Reservation at front desk. Taxi from Odori stattion about 1,100 yen
Nice view. not too far from shopping zone”
good hotel. nice staff and they have available parking lot
Great Hotel, just outside the main area”
The hotel was great, a bit older, but well maintained. Friendly and very helpful staff. On my "Recommend and Rebook" list
Excellent location, helpful hospitality. Nothing to complain but expect a 10-15 mins walk to the shopping street.
Near MRT station, park and shopping area. Room is just nice and clean.
Nice hotel, clean rooms
Overall Pleasant stay. The only disappointment is the spa pool (Onsen) which is rather old & small & does not match its 4-star status.
360' view upper floor bar”
the reason I pick this hotel is the upper floor bar very nice view
very good location and onsen are good
Room was NOT clean. It seemed like someone there till we got into room. especially bed making was not professional done comparing other japanese hotel. Some cushions on the couch got stains. We couldnt get car parking straight away from the lift from room. Two separate lift to car parking is annoyed. Staff is very friendly, kInd and always smiling. Bit far from public transfers as about 10mins walkingfrom subway station.
A comfortable soft start of the travel”
The hotel location is good in terms of shopping, the main shopping street was few blocks away, can be accessed by walking. The hotel is a little bit far from train station, if taking the city metro, you will have to walk a bit (city tram or metro station). Surprisingly, this hotel room we booked was huge by using Japanese standards, it was a very comfortable stay, the bathroom was huge too, even have a normal size bathtub (normally, the bathtub in Japan's hotel are very small that you have to squeeze in). The hotel room was 24th floor, could see the Sapporo city from the window. In general, a very valuable room rate.
Location not so great. Most staff were good. Packed with tour groups. Will be charged 1000 yen if you lose your key card
More or less, a bit old hotel”
I was simply expecting more cleaness and a more modern hotel. This is a really old one. Modern is different.
Great for short stay”
Hotel Buliding unblock n tall, can be easy locate from a distance. Room are clean n comfy. Will consider to book again for our next trip.
The rooms are big comparing to other hotels in Sapporo
Will come back again to this hotel
At Sapporo Prince hotel”
Evertthing is fine.
The service was always great! Great friendly staff are always happy to help with anything.
Friendly staff nice hotel”
This is a nice hotel with reasonable price! They offered 5000yen to upgrade to a royal room which is very cheap with 5000 yen TOP up
For a Japanese hotel this is a big room. Walking distance to some major attaractions. Room clean and heater working well. I just loved my stay here, couldn't ask for me 😍
Good hotel, will stay there again. ”
Onsen in the hotel was great, good quality buffet breakfast and decent sized rooms. Good location and nice staff.
Good hotel worth it's value”
Not right in the middle of the action but not far from it either. Within walking distance to Odori Park and Susukino or walk a short distance down the road to the subway. Would stay again.
Traditional hotel with high standard”
Traditional hotel with high standard. it will be good if can provide free parking for value customer. a bit expensive. but i like the location and friendly staff here.
Great staff, excellent breakfast and lovely room. ”
We had a great time, partly due to being able to get back to a clean quiet and spacious room, even the bathroom is spacious! Good lighting all round.
