Excellent Location, Interiors need revamp”

I booked this hotel because we had to stay an extra day in Singapore after a cruise vacation, so I was looking for a cheap hotel. Like mentioned in the title, the location of the hotel is excellent, 750 meters away from Buggis street. The Staff was friendly and hotel was clean as well. The hotel however is pretty old and needs a total revamp. The bed in our room was pretty uncomfortable and we felt the bathroom could have a few more features. I would recommend this hotel for a short trip at best.

Vastinetta rahalle. MRT:n asema / sininen linja aivan hotellin pääsisäänkäynnin luona. Meillä oli tarvetta vain yhdelle yölle ja unille, koska matkamme jatkui tästä eteenpäin. Kulunut ja vaatimatonkin se oli, kuten huoneenhinnasta voi päätellä. Pitempään en kyllä paikassa viihtyisi, vaikka sijainti mahtava.

Nice place to stay, room is new and spacious. Nice staff, especially one uncle who is very friendly. The only con about the hotel is that they don't have shower cap, so remember to bring one.

LOCATION IS GOOD”

This was the second time we stayed at the Strand Hotel. Last January, we got a comfortable room on the 8th floor. Room is clean and comfortable. This time we got a room on the 4th floor. Water disposal when bathing is not smooth. Flooded in the bath. Mattress and room amenities are old. Location is okay. Price is quite okay with Agoda.

Excellent hotel”

It's conveniently located in front of Bencoolen MRT station. If you're halal traveler, food paradise across the street is selling delicious halal chicken rice. Convenient stores are located near to the hotel. Staffs were also very friendly, we even got a room upgrade during check-in. Thank you ! (big thumbs up)

We keep coming back to this hotel because of the price, location, big sized room. Choose the deluxe room - it’s the renovated room. If u don’t like noise, request for a room not facing the road and elevator. There’s a Food court called Food Republic and 7-11 right across the street and MRT - Bencoolen station right in front of the hotel

Really great location, clean, bit short on bathroom facilities.

Location is good. An 8 minute walk to Albert Food Centre and Bugis+ and on the other side, it is also a walking distance to Plaza Singapura. For a quick bite, there's a Food Republic across the street. The room is clean and big enough for family with two children. Transportation wise, hotel is very near Bencoolen MRT station and also walking distance to Bras Basah MRT. The downside is they don't have ramp at their main entrance, the baggage need to be lift up or bring down, kid stroller too. Hope they can make a plan for it.

Hotel has nice location”

The hotel looks old but is clean and in a good location with Food Republic, Subway and 7-11 Store right across the other side of the street. MRT is literally at the door steps and makes it very convenient to get around and to get from and to the airport. Room tariffs appear to be reasonable but you would probably need to book in advance. Recommended.

Great”

It's located right in front of the Bencoolen MRT. I' m so happy I found it on Agoda. Staff are not so friendly-talkative but whenever you have something to ask, they tell you all they know or show you how to get. Will come back if I have chance to go to Singapore again.

Great stay”

The hotel entrance is just next to MRT station exit; it takes 1 min walk only. In the corner of the street, there is a bus stop which has airport bus aswell; super convenient. There is a food court opposite to the hotel as well as a convenient store. The room size is big compared to Singapore hotel standard. There are 2 lifts in the hotel but 1 under renovation during our stay; however it doesn't cause us any problem. We're sastified to stay at this hotel, highly recommended.

good location, value for money ”

the hotel is located strategically near the mrt stations. it is a no fuss hotel that can give one a good night's rest which I believe is what really matters: the room is spacious enough, efficient airconditioning as well as decent toilet and bath.

Multiple train stations nearby, value for money”

I love the fact that the yellow line train station is literally infront of the hotel entrance. Beds were super comfortable and spacious. Lots of food choices nearby (including a Food Republic). I'll stay here again when I return to Singapore.

The location of the hotel is perfect, very accessible to everywhere in Singapore. There is 2 subway stops and several bus stops a few minutes walk from the hotel. The room we stayed in has a little musty smell but the hotel has an ongoing renovation, so hopefully that will be corrected in the future. The only downside is that there is NO ramp from the street leading to the lobby, very difficult for lugging your luggage and also for senior citizens.

Very good location”

Bencoolen mrt is just right at the doorstep. Overall stay is good tho the hotel is bit old esp the bathroom door has tape at the bottom and the mirror and floor is not even which makes me dizzy. And, there are several steps before you reach the hotel door and they don’t have ramp to roll the luggar so you have to carry them one by one. I requested for a higher floor and they put me on the 3rd with a view of the. canopy roof. Nevertheless, the location is very good with food choices across the street.

Satisfying Stay”

Stayed here because of the recommendation of my friend. Great location, just steps away from the Bencoolen MRT Station and walking distance to Bras Basah Station. Opposite is Food Republic. Clean Room, cool aircon, with fridge, LED TV, hot and cold shower with free toiletries.

Great Location. Very near to Metro station . Other two Metro liners are within 300 meters and Bus stop just across road. You can reach any place in Singapore easily by Public transport. Shopping Dist Bugis is walking distance . Singapore Management University,Arts School , & Museum are within short walking distance. Room size is bigger than other similar category hotels in Singapore.

Great location”

Situated beside Bencoolen station and 5 minutes walk from Orchard Road this hotel is in an excellent location. Catch the train from Changi airport and exit to Bencoolen Street and you are on the doorstep of the hotel. It is also easy walking distance to Bugis, Little India and Gardens by the Bay. The room was a good size and equipped with frig, TV, air conditioning and free wifi.

worth it for the location alone”

Although the room I stayed in was very dated (rusty light fixtures in bathroom, leaky shower head though the shower itself was great), it was clean, well air-conditioned and good value. I would recommend this hotel mostly for the location as it is within walking distance of 3 MRT stops (Bencoolen, Bras Basah and Dhoby Ghaut) and several major bus lines.
