Outstanding Hotel ”
Umaid Review We recently stayed at the Umaid Bhawan for 4 nights. It was a complete oasis of calm in bustling Jaipur. The decoration was unique and fascinating to see, we loved it. Our room was very comfortable and immaculately clean. House keeping were ever so helpful. The food was just delicious, we ate on the rooftop each night and every meal was tasty and served well. Restaurant staff were very friendly (without being a nuisance), they carried out their duties professionally and were very helpful explaining dishes. All hotel staff during our stay were very charming. Used the pool a few days until it got a bit cloudy. We will be recommending this accommodation to our family and friends as well as returning if ever in Jaipur.
Overnight stay in Jaipur”
Lovely hotel with good facilities. Room very elaborately decorated but very comfortable. Food in restaurant excellent with very attentive staff. Perfect place for a one/two night stay in Jaipur at a reasonable price.
Comfortable with lovely staff.”
Pros: nice beds and bedding , welcoming staff, great malai kofta at the rooftop restaurant. Cons: breakfast was a little disappointing , attention to details could be better , needs finishing touches .
There’s quite far away from central sightseeing place but easy to go by taxi. The hotel is about 200 m from the main road make you relax from noisy traffic. Very friendly staff, good vegetarian breakfast so there is the great value for money in Jaipur.
Amazing boutique hotel”
Please stay in room 404, we loved the spacious room and also balcony view. Staff was superb. We gave the staff a good tip because they were helpful. Booked two rooms. room 402 is next to dining area. I liked all the artefacts adorning the walls. Very centrally located.
It is a cozy hotel”
we really enjoyed the hotel for 4 days, Centrally located. I highly recommend book room 404, Great big room for family, lovely view from balcony and steps away from dining area . The staff was very kind and taught my son how to fly a kite. The food is good. The breakfast options are also fine.
Perfect experience. Best hotel experience ever in India. The concierge Mayur made us feel at home. ”
Tranquille, beautyful hotel that gives rest after a busy day in the city. Great restaurant with traditional entertainment and outdoor seating. Clean an spacious. Great staff. Especially the concierge Mayur made our stay very special. The kindest and most helpfull man! We will return.
Family holiday ”
This hotel is one in a million. It's like going back in time. Everywhere you look its magical. Staff are friendly and helpful. I just wished we could have stayed longer. I would recommend this hotel if you are staying in Jaipur.
There are 2 Umaid's hotels within 1 km, outside of the busy old pink town, about 10mins/100Ru Ola-ride. Location is good, neither too far nor too noisy. Umaid Bawan is the more preferred one as i try both for one night, with more richer history and more designed buildings. while Umaid Mahal has a bigger dinner hall. Thanks Umaid upgrade us for a wonderful night.
excellent mark for the hotel ”
It was really great rest. When we arrived at Jaipur (5th of October-8th of October) we were shocked, because we saw not the hotel, but the indian Palace! Design of hotel is perfect, authentic furniture, pictures of famous Indian people, small temple, fountains and wonderful garden...- everithing was amazing, beautiful, excellent! Most of all I marked the room, it was comfortable and nice: king size bed, wonderful bathroom, beautiful wardrobe and personal balcony... every small thing was an additional possibility to continue to get delight! Of course, I can say the restaurant is really good, the high quality of food, good service. In the morning the staff called me and invited me to have a breakfast. And one day we went to the Karoi and we took breakfast away. in general everithing was fantastic!!!
SUPER GRATEFUL TO HAVE FOUND THIS PLACE FOR MY STAY IN JAIPUR”
Everything’s great. I totally will rate 10/10, but despite all its perfectness (the amazing exterior and interior), the hospitality of the staffs, its cleanliness (YES, an Indian hotel can be clean too, I was shocked too since this is my first time in India and our first hotel, I didn’t expect much ‘cause of the India stereotype), I booked the Royal Suite which is the big room, it is super SPACIOUS!! And super clean and totally more than what I expected for sure. The interior itself is crazy! The lobby, the room, and everything is just so amazingly crafted, but, the only thing I’m not so sure about is their bed sheets are like semi-wet, but somehow I feel it’s because of the humid room, or whatever, ‘cause when I move to the small room on my second day stay, the bed sheets were fine. Other than that, this hotel is PERFECT!
stayed here for 4 nights after a very crazy Delhi and Agra experience. Pro's: quiet neighbourhood, very personalized and great service, good hospitable staff, clean and huge room (we got a free upgrade), clean swimming pool, hotel is well managed and maintained, they have transfer options, they provide taxi and tour services around jaipur and nearby attractions. Con's: buffet breakfast has limited options and quite the same for the days that we stayed. over-all it was a lovely and worthwhile stay.
Great hotel with very nice decor”
We loved the decor of the room and the outside areas. We also got a free upgrade to a suite. The staff were very thoughtful, down to the 3 sets of toiletries in the bathroom (we were a group of 3 travellers)!
Beautiful place with great staff”
The rooms are really nice, with a unique design and beautiful touches (painted by hand, loved it). The staff was always trying to help, very kind, and we loved that during dinner they have local dancers. Our driver (Manu) was really helpful, he took us to all the highlights and gave us lots of local tips on what to see, what to eat and the best places to shop. Ask for him if you want to move around Jaipur.
All staffs are very friendly and helpful. Beepu helped us many things perfectly during our stay. Rooms are spacious and nice.. very boutique! Great restaurant at the 3rd floor for breakfast and dinner as well. Hotel is located at a quiet place downtown and offered transportation facilities for sightseeing.
Our fav hotel in 3 week tour of India”
We loved this hotel, and ended up staying for 5 nights, It is a lovely boutique hotel with lots of little nooks to relax in, tonnes of character. Staff are helpful and friendly. Restaurant has wonderful food, with entertainment each night. The rooms were well maintained and spotlessly clean and serviced. Perfect size pool to relax in. Location is little bit away from main hubbub of Jaipur old city (nice and quiet), but at the end of days sightseeing they have everything you need. Keep up the great work!
I have stayed in quite a bit of places in Jaipur, and my preference definitely goes to this place. It’s very cosy, beautiful, very clean, good food, the staff is very helpful and agreable. I wish I could have stayed longer... But I know for sure next time I come back to Jaipur 😉 this will be my destination. ☀️
Food is delicious, staff is extremely nice. They are constantly cleaning and painting the property keeping it spotless. A little noisy sometimes because building is older but kept in beautiful shape and sooo unique and beautiful. Breakfast is not amazing but the dinner a la carte is delicious!! Would definitely come back and stay here again!!
Best boutique style hotel in Jaipur ”
Excellent hotel for foreigners to stay in Jaipur. Gives a true Indian feel and service is exemplary. Rooms are beautifully decorated and large. Rooftop restaurant is amazing with expansive food choices. Breakfast is fabulous with many choices...a coffee machine which makes lattes etc would be the only added recommendation.. overall this hotel is amazing and will definitely be back when next in Jaipur. Beds are so comfortable also. No issues with unmarried couples either which some properties do have issues with so that was one less hassle for us here. Well done Umaid Bhawan.....love your hotel!
Nice boutique hotel. Staff were super friendly and helpful. ”
Great staff and service!
Each hotel room just super unique , breakfast delicious ”
Each room have own design , their breakfast not too bad and dinner have variety choices .
Excellent boutique hotel”
Luxury stay in beautiful room - everything from check-in to check-out was perfect. Beautifully decorated and very well maintained property. The best restaurant we tried in Jaipur (especially eggplants N144).
Great hotel with unique concept. I even spent a lot of time taking pictures at the hotel due to the beautiful design. The staffs were great too and the breakfast selection was decent. The restaurant at the rooftop offers good dinner and a cultural performance while dining. Overall, I am satisfied.
Very Nice Hotel with overall Breakfast. Large and well Decorated Rooms. Hotel Staff are very polite and helpful (Dilip). Only the food I found is very overpriced and portions are really small. And their Wi-Fi needs a lot Improvement. Some rooms are out of Airtel Network. The car facilities can be availed for one day 8 hours and 80 Kms.
One of the best hotels I have stayed at in India”
If you go here, all you will keep saying to yourself is "why is this place so cheap". You really feel like your in an upmarket hotel. The decor is stunning, the staff are so friendly (and I loved the ethos of this place whereby its encouraged to tip at the end of your stay at the tip box at the end - we left a large tip because all the staff were so helpful), the room was beautiful and the bed was so compfy, the shower was a powershower and spacious which I loved, the quality of the food in the restaurant was sooooo good and the fact its a rooftop terrace and they have entertainment each night was an added bonus.
very beautiful, we love taking picture inside the hotel. Service was good and we love breakfast at the rooftop, awesome. But location not quite close to the main attraction and most taxi had a hard time find it.
Family with elders”
This hotel was excellent. The beauty, architecture and the maintenance of all of this was amazing. I would definitely recommend this hotel to people again and again. The staff were great. The drivers were great. The food was great. Overall, I was very impressed with it. The only suggestion I would have is for the breakfast buffet to include one or two more nonveg options. But that's more a personal preference.
Great Heritage Hotel Experience”
Our stay at Umaid Bhawan was great. It is a truly unique experience to stay in a hotel that makes you feel like you have traveled back in time to another India. It is a must for travelers who want a different experience in a small boutique style. The entertainment at dinner was excellent, I would recommend this to anyone who wants to enjoy Jaipur in a more authentic manner.
We booked a basic room and got upgraded to a nice suit room, which was decorated in a lovely old fashioned style with 4 poster bed. The communal areas of the hotel are very nice and give you a feel of what this place might have been like 100 years ago. The pool is quite small but clean and refreshing after a day of sightseeing or to give you a cool dip in the morning. We got up early and they opened it early for us. The food on the roof top bar was also more than satisfactory, as was breakfast. For the price paid, this is a charming herritage hotel at a very cheap price.
A wonderful hotel...”
This was a great place to stay in Jaipur. The hotel is amazingly beautiful and wonderfully maintained. Very clean everywhere. It's like a work of art. The staff put on a free Xmas dinner for all the people staying there on the evening of Xmas Eve. What a generous gesture. I have travelled a lot and yet I have never experienced that before.
It gives me reasons to extend my stay”
Initially, I only stayed for on night and I decided to stay for one more night. The hotel is simply warm and welcoming. I loved the interior design and I loved how they decorated the room. The staff were very helpful and attentive. I would stay here again the next time I will be in Jaipur.
An authentic Indian experience”
It was one of the best places I've stayed in Jaipur. I loved the authentic Indian design and architecture. The staff were very helpful and attentive. The wi fi connection was very fast. I only got minor injury--I tripped on its many steps and my right foot got bruised and swollen for couple of days. The lighting in the house was not sufficient and they should caution the guests about the steps as they can be dangerous. But they helped me care for my injured ankle. I would stay here again.
A wonderful hotel”
As a couple we were looking for a nice hotel in a decent location, not too far from the Pink City but a little back off the road for some respite from the honking. Umaid Bhawan met these requirements and more. It was tastefully decorated in traditional style and the suite was spacious and comfortable. Our balcony overlooked the back of the next building, which wasn't exactly a 'view' but with all of the other courtyard areas we didn't spend any time there anyway. The service was really good. There was live traditional music and dancing each evening we were there. The buffet breakfast catered to all tastes and was pretty standard fare. The menu was varied, although a little expensive. The only things for consideration we would suggest are that it wasn't a hotel to meet people at (we've backpacked a lot and this is not backpacker territory), and it seemed like the pool was being cleaned most of the time so it wasn't in use. It also has quite a small poolside area with a shallow pool (4.5ft). Our only area for improvement is the whiteness of the sheets. I'm sure they were very clean, but they were greying which just doesn't give that impression. On the whole we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it!
A great place to stay at in Jaipur”
A great place to stay in Jaipur. Although, I have stayed at several other hotels in Jaipur in the past, Umaid Bhawan is the one I'll go back to! The rooftop terrace is great to enjoy a drink and some delicious food!
Wonderful place. ”
This was a great find. Staff were very helpful and kind. The food was outstanding. My wife and I ate here for dinner every night. The kingfishers were ice cold and the chicken was always tender. The rooftop setting is romantic and the staff is very attentive. The rooms were comfortable. A family stayed near us with very loud children. We love children, butt my wife and I were looking for a restful time. When I informed the manager, without hesitation or question, they moved us to a quiet room. The pool is fun. Overall, one of our best experiences of any hotel we have ever been to.
A beautiful heritage hotel with lots of guests”
The hotel itself is very beautiful. Each floor is like a labyrinth based on traditional Rajasthani designs, all centered around a small open courtyard. The food is amazing, with a selection of both Indian and International cuisines. Location is good, meaning getting to the shopping desitricts and the historical sights shouldn't be a problem - there are auto-rickshaws and taxis waiting outside the hotel gate, and as far as we know, they didn't overcharge (at least not too much; hey, tourists will always get charged more no matter where you are). The hotel was packed with guests when we were there (April 2014), so it was very busy and the staff were up to their necks. Do as we did and get out and explore beautiful Jaipur.
Beautiful hotel for very sick person”
I was really sick when I arrived at Umaid Bhawan thanks to some bad food in Agra (it took a week to recover). The hotel had a fantastic doctor to call, they were helpful and attentive and caring. Unfortunately I didn't get to see any of Jaipur so can't comment on the rest of it!
Terrific, well-maintained, characterful hotel”
The size, cleanliness and comfort of our room, the well-maintained decor and facilities, the excellent service and the well-stocked restaurant / bar all conspired to making this hotel stay a very pleasant surprise considering how much we paid. The experienced mgmt and staff showed a keen eye for detail and a flair for the kind of no-nonsense, pre-emptive customer service for which India is so famous, though it was apparent that the staff were under some pressure which created a slightly tense atmosphere at times (the manager seemed a bit on the scary side). The food was of an excellent standard, and the restaurant nicely situated on the rooftop. The inclusive city tour was also a nice touch, and is thoroughly recommended. The spacious and occasional maze-like quality of the hotel (warning: it's easy to get lost) and quiet and unassuming location also made for a very peaceful and privacy-focussed experience.
Beautiful hotel in central location”
This has been the best hotel on my travels providing good value for money. It has been a pleasurable stay. Even the hotel is a bit located outside the city center you gain some quite neighbourhood and a good night sleep for it. Transport is all time available and with a TucTuc you reach easily all major sights including Amber Fort for little money. Emails for pick-up from station where received and followed, which is not selfspeaking. Also good place for families with small children.
Full of Decoration”
The hotel is near the Jaipur Railway Station which you take a taxi in 5-10 minutes. About the hotel is clean and comfort, also have a wi-fi internet. My friend love the decoration of the hotel, but I think it is a mock-up decoration that make you think beautiful not feel it is beautiful.
Beautiful Heritage Hotel”
this hotel was my favorite in all the hotels in india. the room was so charming, staff were extremely friendly and helpful, we were upgraded to a suite which had so much space. the rooms don't have a fridge. nice pool, fantastic food at the restaurant on the roof. location is outside the pink city in a quiet nice area. if you like staying in a hotel from a bygone era this is perfect there are lots of areas in the hotel to sit and read or relax while having a cold drink. would have loved to have stayed longer here.
Beautifully decorated rooms”
Front desk officers are quite helpul. The guards are 24 hours on duty and are always watching out for your arrival. The rooms and every nook are beautifully decorated. You can have picture taken every where since they have all these beautiful paintings on the wall.
Very beautiful hotel and comfortable.”
Umaid Bhawan Hotel very beautiful that I ever stayed. This is heritage hotel and decorate very good and beautiful, and provide every things in the room. I have dinner here also, the price of food is resonable, and good taste. There have the Indian dance show also, very good. We all really love to stay here.
This hotel is so popular that when l just mentioned to taxi driver, he was quick to say it's good hotel! Once l stepped in the room, wow was the expression l had for the beautifully decorated room that is so big with nice modern showroom. Service wise l had no problem. There is a nice swimming pool outside the lobby but not me as it was winter when l visited Jaipur. ''A very great hotel with reasonable price''
better than expected”
booked this hotel as it was reasonably priced and has character - AND it was better than we expected. the room was comfortable and decorations were over the top but it was definitely interesting. the staff was very helpful and management even accommodated us to extend our stay until 1am (train leaves at 2am) for the price of their standard room. the rooftop restaurant was very good and probably the best indian food we've had while in the country for a week.
glamorous/kitsch/cultural/all of the above”
rajastani cultural aspects at their best.the hotel is beautifully painted and decorated. the furnishings and decor are amazing.the hotel staff are friendly and helpful and very efficient from hotel management to wait staff to cleaning staff. the restaurant food is delicious and relatively inexpensive, the cultural display at night time is lovely and the dancers captivating.it's in a nice, quiet part of town and if you don't want to walk too far, taxis and tuk-tuk's are available outside on the street practically 24/7.the hotel is clean and comfortable with the only exception being the impossibly hard bed pillows.overall we loved our experince of staying at the umaid and would recommend it to anyone who wants an authentic rajastani experience. we intend to stay there again later this year.
hotel is nicely decorated as old haveli...otherwise everything else was average”
NO welcome at the the reception they even didn't offered water ...royal deluxe room provided was too small ...dont even have space to walk in room...so have to upgrade to suite room...mostly staff was eager to help only foreigners..food was average but rooms were neat & clean and hotel lobbies are nicely decorated
The room is nice, as it is a heritage hotel, it doesn't seem like in the pic shown. My room is much smaller. The window is overlooking service balcony view and also bathroom window. We can't open the window for the privacy, and of course, for a view! Anyway recommend for anyone's looking for a nice place in Jaipur. Wish your room could see the city view as show the claim in the description
Great experience ”
a hotel with indian style decoration. a perfect place to feel Indian culture closely staff are friendly and helpful the room is big enough with all facilities in need price of food and drink at restaurant is a little high(price on the menu does not include tax) and waiters there ask for tips of 10% of total price
Staffs were not hospitable and seems clueless particularly those working at the reception counter. Took more than an hour to setup the wifi account, and only took the action after followed up and reminded to do so. Requested for iron and ironing board, only sent to us the next day (again after reminding them again). The only good thing is the food serve at the restaurant were delicious.
Great Place to stay in Jaipur....”
The best part was the hospitality....awesome staff....worth every moment and penny you spend....My kid especially liked the pool that was just next to out room. The room was great. Very very comfortable. I have stayed in some 5 star properties but this one make you feel like staying longer whereas the other you get bored of.
Well! Rooms were the only good thing if I have to be honest, few times no electricity in the night, poor management. Can’t even buy water bottle after 11 pm. Breakfast zero out of 10. Staff totally unprofessional
Good stay ”
Good room, good location, good price
A select heritage hotel in Jaipur with a pool and great historical references. Comfortable. ”
The area is not super exciting but head into the old city and check out Hawa Mahal and other sites. The hotel was really lovely and the staff were happy to assist.
Fabulous rooms , different one every time, could do with more twin bed rooms, that aside very good place to stay
Good surprise in Jaipur- a must for tourists”
Very special decorated hotel, homogeneous with the town's decor :) Spacious rooms, very clean, friendly staff at a very reasonable price. Strongly recommended.
The hotel is beautiful with heritage style of decoration. The dinner food there is really delicious with the Indian dancing show. Staff is friendly. Overall experience there is good.
Quirky heritage property, shame about the breakfast”
The property is compact, with very quirky decorative features. There are many nooks and crannies, places to sit out, but beware, some of the rooms with balconies look directly onto a residential block literally a few feet away. Our room was comfortable and clean, but the bathroom really did need an update and was showing its age. The rooftop restaurant and bar is a great place to watch the sun set over Jaipur whilst drinking a cold beer. The breakfast though is so disappointing with extremely limited choice for either rajasthani or western options and needs to be addressed.
we loved the hotel. It was very traditional yet very clean and classy. Staff was very helpful. Breakfast had lot of different variety food. They were able to accommodate special requests for the kids. Overall we had great experience and would recommend others.
Beautiful place with great staffs”
At Umaid Bhawan, the building and decoration are very beautiful. Fell like living in an old Indian style house. Staffs here are very helful and service minded. Helped us arraged one-day car with driver and local guide in a very good price. Worth staying here while exploring this pink city. In room facilities are perfect.
Staff want only tip and money”
The room too beautiful but staff not nice some are want only tips even telephone in my room can’t not call the reception and I told them to repair after that he don’t go out of my room and Standing and asked me ‘’are you happy?’’ I said happy and I know it mean he waiting for my money, he doesn’t have service mind The room a little bit dust but nice interior design
This is great hotel, exceeded our expectation. The prices are also reasonable. Few of the highlights - 1. Interiors and arts are awesome. It gives you feeling of Royal palace. Property is very well maintained. Even room interiors are great. 2. It is located in middle of city, so everything is nearby. 3. Great staff, always helpful and ready to do more. Would visit again for sure.
We had the ground floor suite with 3 people sharing. This lower level suite was larger which was perfect for us. A nice buffet breakfast on the rooftop. Full amenities in the room. Beautiful historic hotel in a peaceful part of the city. Highly recommend.
Bait n Switch”
Hotel advertised a car w driver for each day of our stay, so we jumped on that rate. We notified hotel of our arrival flight and waited to no avail at the airport ; phoning them, front desk knew nothing of an airport transfer for us, so we took a taxi and what ensued was a protracted discussion with management over the length of our stay, them denying that driver and car is actually free with room. Finally got the owner and he was the same: deny deny deny. We were in town for a conference and had no time to play the game of attrition that this broken promise clearly required. We ended up paying a taxi driver to be our driver for a rate that was basically meter rate; he was there to meet us each day, so that was the best deal we could get. Rooms OK for price but bathroom badly in need of repair with loose tiles, disgustingly dirty corners, shower a dribbling rain spout. Great restaurant on roof is only saving grace. Ghastly management .
Such a beautiful hotel - would definitely recommend staying here just to stare at the ceilings! A lovely stay. A few nit-picking points; we booked a twin and were given a double, the laundry fee is more than twice the price we paid in similar hotels in India.
Lovely hotel in a traditional style”
Four poster bed and large exec room. Very good value for a special feel hotel. Good food in the rooftop restaurant and the live folk dancing show was quite good too. Restaurant staff very good. The pool was a bit too cold to try.
Magnificent hotel with lovely authentic rooms. Many small verandas to sit and enjoy watching people. Roof top restaurant was excellent and puts on a dance show each night. Breakfast selection was also really good. :Loved this hotel.
A good hotel with good services, pleasant staff, a good rooftop restaurant. Like many of these old houses, there is no sound insulation - bring ear plugs - but it is most attractive and in a quiet neighbourhood. It was excellent value for money at the time we stayed there
Great place with unique character”
The place is absolutely beatifully decorated and maintained. Lovely rooftop restaurant with excellent fold and a good breakfast. Beautiful pool for a refreshing dip in the summer (we didn't use as not warm enough) but no where really to sunbathe. But then you don't really come to Jaipur to sunbathe anyway. Location in bani park a little far out from the Pink City (old jaipur)
