One of the best swimming pool i ve ever seen (make sure to have accessibility) ”
Some room facing maybe the kitchen fans ? have a slight smells But the facility are top notch if you have access to the club One of the best hotel swimming pool i’ve ever experienced in Asia. A real surprise and a real quiet time from the busy city and pollution. 10 mins max from the Int’l airport which makes it perfect for tourists & business travellers The food is not bad but not exceptionnal. Will def return.
Good accommodation close to the airport ”
We stayed there for one night after a late flight. The room was big, but smelled like a smokers room. The staff was very nice and granted us access to the club area with the beautiful swimming pool. Breakfast was good.
Enjoyed the stay”
The day staff was very helpful. They were very accommodating. The only thing I didn't like is they tried to charge me 800 rupees for a ten minute trip to the airport. I asked the night staff to call an ola taxi for me at 0500 but she said they did not run at night. 5 minutes later I booked a ola taxi to the airport for 298 rupees. So I saved 500 rupees by taking 2 minutes to book a taxi.
Carlston at Front Desk is amazing”
Great hotel. Conveniently located less than 10 minutes from the airport. We were greeted at lobby by Carlston who was extremely welcoming. We were upgraded to a suite at no additional cost and were given wine to sip on while we checked in. We were also offered free massages, however, since we checked in late evening all of the appointment times were booked. Free airport transport in a beautiful BMW. I will definitely come back to this hotel!
Delightful boutique hotel close to the airport”
I stayed at Waterstones for 4 nights with my husband and two children. The rooms are very well designed and a break from the standard hotel room I've come to expect. Staff are professional, courteous and friendly. Next door is Waterstones Club with a lovely pool and the White Barn restaurant which serves delicious Indian/Mumbai food plus a range of other cuisines. The only issue was the internet connection which was not as fast and reliable as I need.
Gordon House Suites”
Gordon house suites is exudes a refreshing and relaxed athmosphre. The design is very interesting, and color schemes, room arangement a welcom difference from the other hotels i have stayed in at the airport. I anticipated a little difficulty in finding this place since it is off the main road. However the big sinage at the roadside was a help and allayed my fear of not finding it. Too bad I did not get to try the spa fascilities. Service is good. I ordered a fish dish which didn't quite meet my standard of freshness, it was changed without question to a delicious substitute. The frech fries that go with the fried fish are great tasting.
Gem in the city ”
We were in mumbai for a business event and spent 8 nights here. The rooms are better than you can see in the pictures, the gym is the best equipped health club Gym in mumbai, the restaurants and accommodating and they don't mention they have a daily lunch and evening buffet which is extraordinary value. There are some small shops around the corner if you need additional personal items, uber is easy to anywhere a d you aren't stuck in an "airport area" you are 20 minutes away from the city centre and malls etc. The staff are just incredible and kind, all of them. I need to mention the breakfast, some people have said on reviews the breakfast is average, this is nonsense. Fresh fruit, Indian dishes, continental dishes, croissants, smoothies AND THE eggs man! I letter that are beyond reproach with anything you want. Breakfast is AWESOME!!

Definitely not a star establishment ”
Please be careful if you book online on any booking website as the swimming pool and other facilities mentioned under benefits and even internet are NOT included. Extra charges are pretty high especially for a hotel that is stuck in quite a poor area. You need to hire a cab to get out to the main areas of Mumbai - it takes about an hour sometimes two to reach places like Colaba or Marine Drive as the traffic is dense. If you are going on holidays this is not ideal. Find an accommodation that is more central - Bandra or even more southern. Not all staff greet. Not a norm! I was shocked when I arrived for breakfast with my daughter (7yrs) and the waiter asked me if I wanted a table for one! We had muddy water in the bath (oops!) too much in 3 days and we were rarely there. However, the staff showed embarrassment and willingly arranged for access to the gym only, no internet fees and provided a driver on departure. This hotel calls itself a club and priority is given to members so why advertise internationally? In the end everything was negotiated but that's not the type of things one wants to deal with when on holidays.
Dear Guest, Thank you for taking time out to share with us about your recent visit to our hotel. We have noted your feedback regarding your stay and regret the inconvenience caused to you due to inconsistent service standards. We assure you that corrective measures will be taken to ensure such instances are not repeated. May we request you to consider this as an aberration not reflective of our regular service standards and hope that you will give us an opportunity soon in the near future to enhance your overall experience at the Waterstones. Far from the best”
I was given a room upgrade on arrival, but sure wish I wasn’t. The room was very large. The bed sheets were badly stained so bad that I could not sleep on them. A large amount of ladies hair was also found by the bed.. ladies and gent underwear was found in the draws which was obviously left by previous guest . The room and hotel has a serious mosquito problem . I was bitten many times so did not have a good nights sleep . Housekeeping did try to put things right with limited success . The food in the restaurant was good and the staff very polite and professional . Breakfast mainly caters for Indian guests. On check out I spoke to Mr Prithviraj Yadav who was very apologetic and understanding, if only the rooms were as good as the staff.
Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time out to share your review on Booking.com. I believe Prithvi touched base with you and the concerns shared were resolved mutually to your satisfaction. Also, I would like to extend my sincere apologies towards the inconveniences caused. I would once again, like to assure that the service, quality and standards are of paramount importance to us and we would always endeavor to achieve positive satisfaction scores from our esteemed guests. We also indeed take pride in the honesty and integrity of our people and assure you that only the requisite contingency measures were followed to secure the due hotel revenue. Skip this one, have plenty of better options in the area”
First of all, the hotel itself is nice: clean, spacious room and bathroom, very well-equipped gym and big pool, good choices for breakfast. But: You do not have access to the gym or pool during weekends. They never mention this in your reservation. WiFi is completely crap: cannot even use it for email communication, had to rely on my data during the entire stay. Staff are very disorganized. You ask for something, they say they'll give you a call back and then nothing happens. I wasted hours simply trying to get information.
Dear Guest, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for taking the time out to write a review further to your experience at the Waterstones Hotel. I regret to know that you did not have a satisfactory stay experience on your recent visit to the hotel and several of our systems did not deliver. I have shared your feedback with my team to ensure that the issues are redressed and you receive the highest level of service on your next visit. I would like to thank you once again, for giving us another opportunity to host you in near future and we look forward to welcoming you soon with an absolute assurance of better services. Warm Regards, Kapil Kapoor
Really not worth it”
Overpriced property, can find better in the area. Hotel itself is nice: spacious room, nice design, big bathroom with bathtub. BUT: you get limited access to the pool and gym (no weekends and not on your checkout date). WiFi is so slow, you can just consider it doesn't exist (I kid you not: it took me an hour to send an email). What outraged me the most: upon checking out, they asked me to pay additional charges for WiFi, although it was never stated in my booking that it's separate. I simply refused to pay, since it was unusable. Staff doesn't seem to enjoy working there very much and you can see that in their attitude. They don't communicate well either (after confirming my late checkout at reception, another staff rushed me out of my room 2 hours earlier).
Dear Guest, At the outset, thank you for choosing to stay with us during your visit to Mumbai city, and taking time out to review us on this travel forum. We apologize for any inconvenience that was caused to you during your stay, and request you to consider this as an aberration, not reflective of our usual service standards and hope that you will give us an opportunity soon in the near future to enhance your overall experience at the Waterstones. Warm Regards, Kapil Kapoor
Had a lovely stay here for one night between flights. Not far from the airport, less than 100rs for a rickshaw or 200rs for a taxi (over 700rs if you use hotel taxi though). Feels very safe because of security gates and staff. All staff were very polite and couldn't do enough. When we cleared up the plate after our lovely 60rs macaroons (handmade by the baker) they were most apologetic. Lovely rooms with a bed in the middle, we stayed in a glacial themed room which was good. In the early evening housekeeping came round to deliver a few chocolates. The Chinese style restaurant there was awesome, we did the deal for about 1000rs each to keep picking our own noodles, veg and meat. There was lots of choice and the breakfast was awesome too, you can get pancakes and eggs etc made for you but there is also a buffet. We had club access included in the room price, the pool is huge and had lovely surroundings. I don't have anything bad to say about this hotel.
Dear Guest, Thank you very much for sharing your views. It was really gratifying to read your feedback and I hope that Waterstones Hotel continues to be your preferred choice of hotel in Mumbai. It’s commendation from guest like you that motivates every team member to go that extra step and it is truly satisfying to know that your experience was superlative. Looking forward to welcome you back soon at Waterstones Hotel. Warm Regards, Kapil Kapoor
Need to get the basics sorted 1st”
On a business trip for 4 days, essentially in the hotel only to sleep and eat breakfast. Is a decent property no doubt, however faced a couple of issues. 1. AC temp control not working. Kept it running at 25 deg C still the room was 21 deg C, uncomfortable for me. Switching off the AC was comfortable for a few hours in the night, but made the room stuffy, so kept only the fan of the AC running, which worked till I realized (by almost slipping) that it caused sweating and condensation in one part of the room next to the bed. Reported this problem to the staff, who tried for a day, could not do much other than asking me to keep the AC running. So the choice was to either freeze or slip and fall. 2. The room allocated to me was the farthest walk from the reception, invariably every night while returning back the magnetic strip key refuse to work, making me take walk back to the reception to get the key reactivated. Would appreciate the management sort these basics at least.
Dear Guest, At the outset, thank you for choosing to stay with us during your visit to Mumbai city, and taking time out to review us on this travel forum. We are indeed disappointed to hear that our hotel, rooms and services did not live up to your expectations and we apologize for any inconvenience that may have been caused to you during your stay. May we request you to give us another opportunity soon in the near future to enhance your overall experience at the Waterstones, and look forward to welcome you back. Warm Regards, Kapil Kapoor
Nice Room.... quite Artistic.
Brief overnight stay before flight next day”
The hotel, whilst quite nice, is down dirty dirt track in a really poor area. To make matters worse it appears to be surrounded by a massive building site on all sides. It offers decent value for money but don’t expect to be able to explore the neighbourhood. Staff are really polite and helpful. Hotel restaurants are somewhat limited and unless you jump in a cab you’re you have no option but to use them.
Wonderful waterstone hotel”

Good transit hotel”
Waterstones is well located if you have an early flight to catch; its close to the international airport. The design is eclectic and the rooms very spacious. The hotel though needs to pay a little attention to maintenance. An excellent property is somewhat mattered by mold on the bathroom wall. Overall though, this is good value for money.
Thank you for choosing to stay with us during your recent visit to Mumbai city, and taking time to review us on this travel forum. I booked here as a treat but when I arrived discovered this didn't include use of the pool and spa facilities so had to pay more. But the room was lovely and the staff helpful and professional. Good breakfast.
Fantastic hotel - a heaven of peace in busy Mumbai”
This is a fantastic hotel and truly a heaven of peace in busy Mumbai with amazing large Pool, great Gardens and good SPA. Staff is helpful all the time, everywhere, a real nice corporate culture. A few week points are the low internet bandwidth in the room and an overcomplicated TV.The rest is perfect.
