This is a wonderful location with unforgettable views. I am normally a 5 star kind of traveller however I wanted to try something different and this really was a massive departure from the norm. Generally I loved it however I was surprised by how basic it was and how close I was to nature. At night the forest is alive. I would thoroughly recommend it however be prepared for no phone signal/wifi and various creatures in and around your room (ants, spiders, monkeys, lizards and more..... ).
Must visit. Amazing location, well maintained. Food was excellent. Staff were courteous. They organise activities-trek, mehndi, etc. Network coverage is poor but it is expected as you are in wilderness :P
If you want to enjoy nature , you will love this place. their cottages are excellent , amazing infinity pool. the nature is at its best , no pollution , no plastic , no TV - perfect getaway
Perfect for natural getaway in monsoon”
Amazing location. Simply great food. Awesome Infinity pool. Be ready for some insects though.
Place you want to come back”
Perfect location! Travelled there on a rented scooter - fascinating view on our way there! Took us around two hours to get there from Cavelossim, North Goa. We stayed in a Forest view bungalow as Valley view were booked far ahead. It was nice, but pretty scary - monkeys jumped from trees on our roof all night long throwing fruits on it and peeing sometimes :) as it's very quiet at night that seemed they were doing this straight on your head. Lot of birds and insects are waking up at night, so you won't be alone for sure. That is the reason we didn't stay for a minute out of our bungalow (I mean we didn't chill at the chairs provided at your patio). Valley view is breathtaking, try to book it if there's a chance! Pool is nice but small and overcrowded, the water is pretty cold, around +20°C. Restaurant serves only local cuisine, which is tasty but will make you go crazy in a couple of days. Prices at the local bar are quite reasonable. We stayed here for two nights and enjoyed hiking to waterfall, plateau and Mhadei Sanctuary. For sure this is a place where you must take part in activities, otherwise you will not understand the sense of a nature resort. Would love to come back again to visit Mhadei Sanctuary and to stay at a Valley view bungalow:)
Not recommended in monsoon season”
No feedback at all from them when i did a special request of pick up from the airport. Secondly the facilities are very poor except for the very good food at the restaurant which is included in the price... cleanliness is. Very bad. There were leeches and worms in the room. Toilets stinked very bad. We checked out a day earlier
Tryst with nature!”
1. Valley view room is better than forest view. 2. Better if you visit with older children who can go for small 2 km or 6 km trek. 3. Food is tasty but a little spicy. 4. Rooms are big and spacious with window panes on three out of four walls.
We visited the idyllic resort in June just at the onset of monsoons. The individual cottages are rustic, with a beautiful valley view and is serviced by local staff, who make up for lack of professionalism with their eagerness to help. The food, mainly traditional Indian fare is well prepared. The cottages are frequented by various insects, which I suppose is expected for this time of the year in this wooded area. Overall, the owner Capt.Nitin Dhond has put up a good place for a weekend break.
no tea or coffee facilities in room. on the walk to the waterfalls, the guide did not introduce himself. The walk was too fast, and the guide did not allow the slower walkers to rest as much as those ahead. Once at the falls, we walked back unaccompanied ; little thought to our safety. Inadequate bar staff insufficient number of pool side sun beds. Over crowding in pool. Unwelcoming staff at entrance to Wildnernest. No help with bags Food inadequate. Very Very disappointed.
+ the nature, the cottages, clean and nice, the pool, the transfer - the staff did not understand english well and was not very serviceminded, the food was just indian food that wasn't very good, the food was served with very long between and there is no possibility to get a snack between. I have low bloodsugar and this was a big problem for me. I will unfortunately remeber the two days i stayed with hunger. Bring snacks if you go there!
Don't listen to the people that tell you 1 night is enough. If you are from India you have probably experienced India's forests and wild life before, but if you are from the UK or Europe you need to stay atleast 2 nights or even 3. We stayed for 3 nights in February and there was never a dull moment, trekking into then forest and mountains, lots of birds (we saw a hornbill) and 2 different breeds of monkey. Evidence of leopard, deer and bear. Swimming pool is great and you won't be able to stay away from the edge, the view is a magnet. Food was really good, it was only warm and should have been hotter but we weren't ill. Drinks at the bar were reasonable and it was pleasant to sit for a while in the evening. If you respect nature and want a real change you must go. Don't forget a pair of sturdy shoes, a water container and a torch as darkness comes on really quick. Internet and phone signal is very poor that is why they don't answer - but keep trying. Our next visit to experience Wildernest is planned for the month of October or November just after the monsoons.
A lovely nature escape with simple facilities in a beautiful location. Good local food buffet. Beautiful cottages. Busier than when we first visited which while good for business detracts from the quiet atmosphere.
Perfect location for a relaxed yet thrilling stay being close to nature”
Pros - excellent service, beautiful location, stunning views especially valley facing rooms, infinity pool, Cons - some might feel a bit pricey if d facilities provided are taken into consideration, authentic maharashtrian/konkan food would not b everyone's cup of tea,
Fantastic Location ”
They told us on arrival that they had an overbooking situation after booking 7 months in advance obviously not happy. They did rectify their error on the second night
awesome waterfalls view and infinity pool”
Wonderful location Nice infinity pool Good staff
Children below 10 years of age shouldnt be allowed on treks. The overall experience is amazing.
unexpected, had read that the resort has wifi tv and many other facilities but failed it didn't had any of them
amazing place - total serenity”
classic experience with wonderful location and amazing food.
What a getaway! ”
Wildernest - is a perfect place to go to refresh and rekindle romance! The waterfall trek is a must go. The water is awesome. The infinity pool is good however needs a heater during the winters. The massages offered could be better. The location and setting is perfect though. Opt for the valley view cottage for stunning views. Will visit again during the monsoon.
