The room is big and the rooms facing on the back side have a good view and direct sunlight coming in room which feels good in winters. There is no complimentary drinking water provided, the WiFi is very bad and breakfast does not have choice and limited.

Shocking Hotel (please don't be fooled)”
This hotel is no where near 4 star standards. We had a completely different room to what was advertised on the agoda website along with many misleading information. The pool is 22 euro extra per day Gym is 12 euro extra per day Broken sockets Light switches Limited lighting Breakfast was unbearable One thing I will give 4 star to is the hotel lobby which was of good standards but the rest needs servere improvement

I would NOT recommand this hotel”
If you wanna enjoy nice holidays, please DON´T go to this hotel. I can´t find anything positive there. They write, that they has pool in the hotel, but nowhere is written, that it is paid. 15 Eur pro person - so it was 30 Eur per day, which is deffinitely not a low ammount. But what suppriced me - for the hotel guests is pool even more expencive than for public. At first they asked us for 10 Euro per person, and then when we said, we are from hotel, they charged us 15!! Pool is small and you have to wear swimming cap?!? Is that normal?? They also have unfriendly staff! Very poor breakfast without veggies or fruit. And of course 12 Eur citytax per day (which is btw. also not writen anywere) .

i was all alone when i went to rome, but it was so fun and had a nice sleeps at the hotel. even though the excel montemario hotel is a little bit far from the city center, it's just a 20 mins. ride by bus and you can easily find the bus stop, there are two but i think the one in front of a school is much shorter walk from the hotel, around 5 mins. walk. you'll get enough information about the transportation and a map from the hotel reception. but i always took the bus# 913 and 907. and just a little bit walk from the bus stop, you'll find a big grocery store, mcdonald, and a second hand/antique store.

We have stayed at the Excel Roma Montemario in September for the last four years. We really like the local area with good cafes and shops and we enjoy the 100 minute walk into Rome through the local areas. We have got to know some really interesting shops, cafes (much less expensive than central Rome) and friendly/helpful people. The hotel has good facilities with a gym and swimming pool. However we were very disappointed to find that free access to the pool was restricted to those renting 'suites' only. We would have had to pay 210 euros for seven days use. We think this is excessive especially as we feel the pool is an essential hotel facility.

Beautiful views and plenty of space to walk and relax”
The hotel is beautiful with plenty of scenic views. If you're high up, you can even see how the hotel overlooks the city! There is a large patio area to sit and relax, enough for privacy so that other's aren't eavesdropping. I'm unsure why the hotel is getting dinged by others about it's location; it isn't advertised as being in the center. If you book and choose not to look at a map to determine the location, that is your problem. Expect a 30-45min bus ride from Termini Station though. The 913 bus gets you *almost* everywhere. The M&G Restaurant had great food as well but we didn't like the shrimp pasta. The pizza, pasta, chicken was amazing as they have a true wood fired oven. Menu is a la carte, so better to mix chicken and pastas and share. Reasonably priced and the owner was one of the most pleasant people we encountered. PROS: Atmosphere, scenic views, plenty of good restaurants and shops within walking distance, helpful staff CONS: Very loud rooms - housekeeping starts early

Budget Friendly Stay”
I will start with " you get what you pay for". That being said the hotel grounds are beautiful as well as the lobby and public areas. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant had delicious food and it was nice to bring one of their pizzas to the room after a long day of sightseeing. The hotel was very close to the bus stop. THIS HOTEL IS NOT IN THE CENTER OF ROME. this did not bother me because for 1.50 you can get on a bus very near by and it will take you to the Vatican or the historic center. I enjoyed taking the bus and exploring the city by foot. The negatives of the hotel are that the shower was way to small. it was uncomfortable to shower without bumping into everything. The shower door was broken and leaked water everywhere. The food at the restaurant was delicious but our waitress was not to awesome. she seemed to be the only waitress who seemed clueless the two times we dined in the restaurant. she was very forgetful and seemed to be much more attentive to the patrons who were not staying at the hotel. The amazing food and other great staff made up for her faults. overall, it's a great hotel especially for the price I payed. it's not a luxury resort but definitely better accommodations than a hostel/ motel for the same price.

Good place not faraway from centre to sleep well”
Big hotel in the classical roman school building with new stylish design, nice park with 🐠 & 🐢 ... There is sport centre, but clients of hotel not welcome there, because fitness and swimmingpool is only for membership clients 😐 so we can't go to sauna and no spa for us... Well, there is enough space to walk around, but no time, cuz need to rush for signseeing of Rome. Breakfast with lots of pastry, all you need to eat and feel full completely. On the bus you can reach Vatican for 30 min, bus stop nearby 5-10. Good restaurant in hotel with lovely pizza, the rest is expensive. Tourist tax 🤑 is 6 Euro per person/night, so pay lots of cash in the end...😢 well it's great eternal city!

The hotel was lovely but further away from the city centre than advertised. The wifi hardly worked at all. Staff were quite unhelpful. Didn't realise hotel tax had to be paid in cash.

Poor”
The hotel was our last stop before heading back home to Singapore so a day of R&R by the pool however the room we were first allocated was very small and not at all as described or pictures we saw when we booked, we were also informed we would have to pay a further 15 Euro each to use the pool facilities as they "are not part of the hotel" so why advertise you have a pool? Unfortunately that was enough asked to talk with the manager was given the run around by the receptionist who was quite rude at times finally the Manager did sort things out but only after I caused a scene. Stress none of us need. Poor display all around advertising and staff.

everything was just bad..”
stayed here for 7 nights with my wife and two more couples. the service was terrible from the start. they only offered us one keypass to each room. we had to ask for a second one for each room. at first it was not possible but after she asked an other lady they accepted to give us the second key. non functional air condition. we stopped complaining about the ac when one of the staff members called one of us a liar and that we are making things up about non-functional air condition. simply said, it was really bad. the manager didn't even bother to help us. even though all the signs said that it was american buffet breakfast that would be served, all they served was old bread, one cheese option, one ham option and various selections of cookies. pool cost 12 eur each day per person. pool was very small. you had to wear a swimming cap. and one more annoying thing is that you had to rent a towel for 3 eur from them if you wish to swim in the pool. non-functional channel receiver. so we could only get one channel. when we used the receiver all we got was a message saying that we had to adjust the satellite on the roof. we didn't bother asking for help since they gave us such a bad service last time we asked them for help. the only positive thing was that the rooms were kept clean daily by the very nice and humble housekeepers. this trip was planned to be a very nice, romantic and awesome weekend with a lot of fun at the pool with family and friends. but it turned out to be a disaster. do yourself and your friends a favor and pick an other hotel because this hotel was a joke.

Location is good as we had to stay close to Gemeli. The rooms had an unpleasant odour which never went. The blower was off initially so we thought that it’s because of blower not running. It was started later after we requested the reception but did not help. The drains for washbasin and bath tub were almost chocked.
