Excelsior downtown hotel is just 5 mins walk away from the metro Al Rigga station.you will pass by a lot of restaurants ( Chinese, Indian, Arabic resto).small Filipino stall selling snacks, barbecues @ 5 dirhams only.Also 2 grocery stores near the metro.Malabar gold store,Delta department .Paid 77 dirhams as Tourism fee during Check in.Stayed 5 nights. Very Near the DXB airport 15 mins without the traffic. Definitely will come back again.If you have only small luggage from the airport take the Metro/ train bound to Al Rigga then Exit- 2.Hotel check in time is 3 pm but they allowed me to check in earlier. Check out is 12 noon but extended until 1pm without fee, otherwise after 1 pm will incur additional fee.If i am not mistaken, Excelsior is the nearest among the hotels near Al Rigga metro station. The only cons: breakfast should have more varieties to choose from. They dont allow the breakfast to be eaten in the room.There is bar on the Ground floor.So if you are particular about the noise at night .Choose upper floors. I've stayed in 5th floor. On my 1st night i heard a lot of noises from the next room.😔Light is dim.If you intend to review or read journals you need to go near the door which has good lighting.Lastly, no electrical socket beside the bed.Its a bit inconvenient.otherwise you need your powerbank to charge your phone while you're in bed

A place like home”
The whole hotel is clean and fragrant! The room feels like home. Clean, good smell, comfy bed and pillows, complete toiletries, and cozy feeling. The hotel is very near to the Metro Station and restaurants. The food here is also good with wide selections. The staff are friendly and always smiling. It’s really an excellent staycation for us, that’s why we extended for another day. 😊They also have relaxing facilities and amenities, like Gym, Pool, Spa, Sauna which we will try on our next visit. 😍

Best cleaning staff ever”
I have stayed in so many hotels in Dubai over past 3 years but no cleaning staff was as nice and friendly as the Abigael, a young lady from Cameroon. I was in post recovery from Covid and she was so polite and cleaned like a professional house cleaner in your own home. The desk staff was helpful at all times especially the Egyptian lady who just got engaged but sorry forgot her name. The hotel is super location within 2 blocks if u need Metro.

Its Been My 3rd time Booking in Grand Excelsior Hotel and it always satisfies Me all the staffs is very accomodating and Hospitable statting from the Security in the entrance all the Receptionist on the frontdesk Specially the 2 filifino on the front desk i forgot to ask their name, the Bellman Umair is Very Kind and Helpfull, the Cheft on the Breakfast buffet is verygood he cooks for my wife the friedrice even though its not on the menu cuz my wife likes on fried rice as breakfast. Good reception, staff are helpful, rooms are cleaned everyday, very stable WiFi. The down side was: A couple of sockets were not working in the room. The shower head was a bit of struggle to stabilise.

Former IHG Hotel lives up to its Expectation”
The Excelsior Downtown hotel ( a former IHG hotel) has not lost any of its glory. It’s a value for money Hotel with a great location with access to the metro. Although the breakfast selection needs improvement, the head chef with the limited resource always give you the personal touch. Stayed there with the IHG brand and very little has changed.
