Little OASIS In The Middle Of Phuket”
First, to resolve some confusion. There are two hotels named Expat, very near one another. I am reviewing the one on 200 Pee Road, not the Expat Hotel Patong Center. That is a completely different hotel and further away from the beach. It is multistory, whereas the Expat I'm reviewing has only 2 & 3 levels. Although we had a bit of a wait initially (the hotel was completely full), the staff went way out of their way to accommodate us. Our room was modest in size (21 meters) and appearance, but it had every amenity we asked for. The Expat is set back from the East end of Bangla street far enough away that there is no noise issue, yet close enough to 2nd road to have all one could want right at hand. The pool is large and beautiful. The restaurant and bar have everything and at fair prices. All that said, the staff and the service they provide are simply excellent! Daniel C.

Excellent stay as always.”
This is my favourite hotel in patong and my third visit. Unfortunately I only booked my last day here as they were repairing the pool throughout my holiday so I stayed elsewhere. I rarely have anything bad to say about Expat Hotel. The location is perfect and right in the middle of everything but it is still quiet and peaceful. The layout and pool and atmosphere brings me back time and time again. Onsite massage services are great and so is the food. I will definately stay here again on my next visit to phuket.

Thank you for reviewing us. Sorry about the pool refurbishment last year but it was overdue and now the pool looks better than ever. We hope you enjoyed your last stay.
Great Stay”
If you have realistic expectations and consider value for money then you won't find much better than the Expat Hotel. I booked the poolside rooms for myslef, brother and 80 yr old father. They were very convenient and as it was a quiet time of year we felt like we had the pool area to ourselves. The rooms are basic but have everything you needs. Yes, the towels could do with replacing but they were clean and so was the linen. The bed was basic but comfortable and the shower was good, although in my room the shower was fixed in one position where as my brothers and fathers had a slide bar so you could change the height. At 6ft 1inch the water would only reach my chest. Not a huge issue though. The restaurant served good food at decent prices and the bar was a great start to each night. This will become my regular stop in Phuket.. Guest friendly and homely... Looking forward to coming back.

Really a charming little place, with lots of good things to offer”
You have to know what you're getting into when you stay at the Expat. One of the great experiences in life above the travel, the places, and the food is the people you meet. At the Expat, you'll meet great people in the managers and staff and the traveling expats from around the world who stay at this hotel. The rooms were always clean, the food prepared well, great happy hour drink prices, clean and deep pool, great bar with lots of sports and lots of interesting people to talk to on your stay. I had a great experience at this hotel, but also I came with the understanding and knowledge that you're a block away from Bangla road. I was woken up a few times by loud music from adjacent clubs. The rooms and fixtures are not very new at all and the power went out a couple of times. BUT, the staff and people I met at this place was worth the stay. It was a charming place with charming people in a great location.

Good place to stay ”
i have been on Phuket many times and has explore many different hotels during each trip. most of the time, the staff friendliness in these hotels would excel. Expat Hotel is abit contrast when it come to this. During breakfast or even during check-in and checkout, the responses from the staff is often cold. Though not totally non-communcative, but I felt an indifferent treatment. Overall, the location is spotless, the breakfast meal is great and the pool is nice. Housekeeping is good except they keep storing their housekeeping stuff by the stairs and doorway, which is odd. Hot water, water pressure and air conditioning is acceptable.

Nice stay during Covid crisis”
Hi OK Patong is dead that means nothing is opened, no restaurant, most of the hotels, and even 50% of the 7/11. Fortunately, Expat restaurant was open when we needed it, in the hotel, and the staff is always ready to help and make you feel good, even if they are not that many .. crisis is here. So to relax, eat, go to the beach, and play in the pool, it was perfect. Balcony rooms facing the pool, great ! Cleaning was done every 2 days, but this was absolutely not a problem. We had double water bottles and towels. Anyway, if you need something else (as a water heater for the baby), they will provide it with a smile ! Now do not think about going out by night ... you will meet more ghosts than people ... even by day ! Again Cheers to Expat hotel which I think was the best choice, with the covid19 crisis.

Nice hotel in the middle of everything, but still aside from the busiest and noisiest area ”
This is perhaps a three star hotel with all you need at the hotel or on a short walking distance. The hotel has a quite big swimming pool and a sunbath area surrounded by threes and bushes. The restaurant is open from early morning until late night, and the staff is just excellent, friendly and attentive. The room was a bit small, but on holiday you do not stay that much in the room anyway. In front of the room there was a nice shared balcony with a table and to chairs for each room. This is the place which I will choose also next time when visiting Phuket and Patong.

Fantastic Hotel”
The rooms were excellent and the staff were very friendly. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It was very close to Bangla Road but still quiet. Lovely swimming pool and clean professional massage parlour. I originally stayed here for a few days and then went to Phi Phi Island. I then returned to Phuket and stayed at the hotel a second time. Staff were fantastic and the Rooms were great all for a good price. I will definitely stay here again when I return to Phuket.

Excellent location, but a bit pricier than normal”
I have always enjoyed staying at The Expat, but I found this time, although the place is still great & the staff are lovely as always, it was a bit expensive. Martin (bar manager) and all the girls looked after me very well and my requested room on the ground floor near reception was made available. Nice cold beer & a good spot to meet other people from all around the world for a chat. Love The Expat, but please try to keep the prices down...

TOP CHOICE!”
Top location right next to Bangla and the beach but set back enough without the loud noise. Room AirCon and fast speed Internet worked GREAT at all times. Hotel pool very nice and big for a hotel this affordable. Restaurant fine. Just don't expect a room with a view as it has motel style windows that will need to be curtained most of the time or other guests can see inside. Stayed Expat before and will stay again.

Great for solo party ”
Perfect location for partying on Banglo street. Easy walk to hotel but far enough from the street so it's not noisy. Expat is well named, you will see lots of older westerners with young thai women, so maybe not ideal for family vaycay. Good mini bar with good prices, laundry was reasonably priced and fast.

Still Great Value for Patong Beach”
Been 8 years since I last stayed here and while it's not the newest of hotels - it has great staff and a fantastic location, so close to the action in Patong. The staff are excellent and the Sports Bar a good place to chill out, eat and relax and if your a Hasher then it's the pick up point for the Phuket Hash House Harriers.

Close to bangla road, Jungcylon, beach (300m maybe) and nice staff.”
Close to everything with a swimingpool and you can only hear a little from bangla at night but not enough to wake you up. Also very good cleaners, in other hotels they have not cleaned my room if I put the sign on my door a bit late but in expat they always cleaned my room, very satisfied.

Beautiful hotel”
I am an Italian residing in Tokyo and accustomed to the best conveniences and services, so booked only 3 nights because was wandering about the deal, but I extended for further 4 nights because i liked everything of this hotel very much. The location is really fantastic: very near to everything you can imagine, but very quiet. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The swimming pool was very clean and convenient. I felt very safe and used also the in-room safety box. The room was cleaned everyday. The bathroom was large and clean and the shower warm water pressure not special but enough. The air conditioner and fridge were a bit noisy but as I didn't need them, kept switched off both. The television was obsolete but full of satellite channels for free. No need to hesitate when considering this beautiful hotel.
