Off the beaten track ”
I arrived only 3 hrs after booking on line and beat the resevation, however I was able to show my confirming email. It was too late for room service so a boy was sent out to get something for me. The room was excellent.

Staff was able to accommodate to my requests. Fell off a bike through my own mistake. Owner was was nice enough to let me wash up when I went back to retrieve my luggage. Offered him a huge tip in gratitude.

Hotel a bit far from center”
The hotel is quite far from the center of Pyin Oo Lwin. English of staff is not good but it is cheap for one night's stay. The breakfast is only a bowl of noodle with coffee. There is no choice tea.

Adequate room rther farfrom the action”
Essential Hotel is an odd place. It's rather out of the way, being a good 15-20 min walk to the town centre. Its staff are extremely well-meaning and kind, but incredibly over-attentive: five people to carry your two bags to your room; the manager standing next to your table at breakfast; looking over your shoulder as you retrieve booking info from your phone. To an extent, that's Myanmar, but we felt it particularly acutely here. All that said, the hotel was very clean and well-kept, our room was top-notch and excellent value, and Pyin Oo Lwin is small enough that the out-of-the-way location wasn't an insurmountable problem - just expect to do a lot of walking or getting taxis.

Restful and relaxing stay - good retreat place from Mandalay, cut stay short to return to Mandalay which is at least 2 hours from this hotel and very expensive taxi ride.

Far from airport”
The hotel is very far from Mandalay airport, roughly 3 hrs. So unless you plan to stay in Pin Oo Lwin own, I wouldn't recommend. If you stay in Pin Oo then good hotel. Close to the botanical garden, golf course and Pin Oo town centre. Plus you have to find your own way to the hotel. Night staff English skills not so good but helpful. Morning staff very good service.

Best Hotel in Myanmar”
Initially I was annoyed as this hotel is not in Mandalay it is in Pyin Oo lwin but upon arrival I was very happy. After 6 nights of expensive, substandard accommodation I finally found a good hotel in Myanmar, worth every cent I paid. The room was big, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great and delivered to my room. The staff were very helpful. I couldn't recommend this hotel more.

Die techn. Ausstattung ist sehr überschaubar. Möbel nicht funktional. Manche Zimmer haben nur Fenster in den Gang. Personal ist sehr bemüht, spricht aber kaum englisch.

Warm welkom in de kou”
Het was kouder dan we verwachtten. We kregen gelukkig extra dekens. Het personeel was erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam en de manager regelde alles voor ons. Ze boekte zelfs een hotel voor ons in Mandalay. De bungalow was erg ruim. Het ontbijt was prima. Jammer dat we daar niet de gehele tijd konden blijven omdat de eigenaar ruimte wilde vrijhouden voor zijn vrienden. De kamer was ook niet slecht, alhoewel de tv weinig te bieden had. Er was niet altijd heet water in de kraan, maar wel in een thermoskan waar mee we altijd koffie en thee hadden. De natuur is er mooi en het is er niet zo druk. Er is genoeg te zien voor een paar mooie dagen.
